        약용작물 관련 전통지식의 이용방법 분석

        ABS(Access and Benefit-sharing) has emerged with the signing of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol within the international community. along with access to genetic resources and benefit sharing, ABS is also related to the issue of benefit-sharing of traditional knowledge. In order to protect Korea’s traditional knowledge, as it is related to genetic resources, it is necessary to create proactive defensive measures to prevent other countries from acquiring the intellectual property rights of Korean traditional knowledge. Therefore, traditional knowledge should be systematically placed in a database to secure evidence of Korea’s prior medical knowledge. This study examines the traditional knowledge of medicinal crops, which was placed in a systematic database, and the literature and field survey data on this traditional knowledge as related to plant resources were reviewed. As a result, 339 samples of traditional knowledge concerning 58 plant resources were collected and organized. The data was analyzed by frequency analysis using the SPSS statistic 21 program. Using the statistical program, traditional knowledge on the use of medicinal crops was classified into the types of crops, agricultural items, parts of the plants, and disease systems, and their characteristics were all analyzed. In addition, we analyzed the current status and the traditional knowledge by conducting field research on native crops.

        Dust Disks Around Young Stellar Objects

        To reproduce the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of young stellar objects (YSOs), we perform radiative transfer model calculations for the circumstellar dust disks with various shapes and many dust species. For eight sample objects of T Tauri and Herbig Ae/Be stars, we compare the theoretical model SEDs with the observed SEDs described by the infrared space observatory and Spitzer space telescope spectral data. We use the model, CGPLUS, for a passive irradiated circumstellar dust disk with an inner hole and an inner rim for the eight sample YSOs. We present model parameters for the dust disk, which reproduce the observed SEDs. We find that the model requires a higher mass, luminosity, and temperature for the central star for the Herbig Ae/Be stars than those for the T Tauri stars. Generally, the outer radius, total mass, thickness, and rim height of the theoretical dust disk for the Herbig Ae/Be stars are larger than those for the T Tauri stars.

        Autosomal-dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease in a Family of Scottish Fold Cats

        Autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease (AD-PKD) is common in Persian and Persian-related breeds,and is sporadically reported in Scottish Fold cats. A 5-year-old male Scottish Fold cat was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease based on screening tests and abdominal ultrasonography and died 3.5 months after diagnosis. The cat had 14 kittens with three queens, including his female sibling, with an age range of 3 months to 8 years. Genetic testing to confirm the genetic transmission of AD-PKD which detects the mutated PKD1 gene was performed. Abdominal ultrasonography confirmed the presence of renal cysts. Nineteen cats were screened in the present study (13 males and 6 females), with an age range of 3 months to 8 years. The results of renal ultrasonography agreed with the genetic test results in the 19 cats in which both tests were performed and 8 cats were diagnosed as ADPKD based on these tests. AD-PKD has not been investigated in cats in South Korea. Moreover, this is the first report of AD-PKD in a family unit of Scottish Fold cats.

        Epidemiologic Study of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 Expression in Advanced/Metastatic Gastric Cancer: an Assessment of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 Status in Tumor Tissue Samples of Gastric and Gastro- Esophageal Junction Cancer

        Purpose: The Trastuzumab for gastric cancer (GC) trial identified human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) as a predictor of successful treatment with trastuzumab (HER2 receptor targeting agent) among patients with advanced/metastatic GC. To date, the prevalence of HER2 overexpression in the Korean population is unknown. The present study aimed to assess the incidence of HER2 positivity among GC and gastroesophageal (GE) junction cancer samples and the relationship between HER2 overexpression and clinicopathological characteristics in Korean patients. Materials and Methods: Tumor samples collected from 1,695 patients with histologically proven GC or GE junction enrolled at 14 different hospitals in Korea were examined. After gathering clinicopathological data of all patients, HER2 status was assessed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) at each hospital, and IHC 2+ cases were subjected to silver-enhanced in situ hybridization at 3 central laboratories. Results: A total of 182 specimens tested positive for HER2, whereas 1,505 tested negative. Therefore, the overall HER2-positive rate in this study was 10.8% (95% confidence interval=9.3%–12.3%). The HER2-positive rate was higher among intestinal-type cases (17.6%) than among other types, and was higher among patients older than 70 years and 50 years of age, compared to other age groups. Conclusions: Our evaluation of the HER2 positivity rate (10.8%) among Korean patients with GC and GE junction indicated the necessity of epidemiological data when conducting studies related to HER2 expression in GC and GE junction.

      • 디스플레이용 이방전도성 필름(ACF) 기술 소개

        이방성전기전도 필름(ACF)은 전자부품을 구성하는 이종의 회로를 단시간에 전기적, 물리적으로 접속시키는 본딩 공정에 사용되는 전도성 접착 필름이다. ACF는 절연성을 가지는 경화성 접착제와 전기 전도성 입자로 구성되어 박막의 필름 형태로 제조된다. 본딩 공정에서 열과 압력을 가해 전극과 전극을 수직 방향으로는 전기 전도성, 면방향으로는 절연성, 그리고 접착성이라는 세가지 기능을 가진다. ACF는 스마트기기의 디스플레이(LCD, OLED) 및 터치 모듈 패키징의 미세 피치 전극 접속 공정에 범용적으로 사용된다. 모듈의 종류는 Chip on Board, Chip on Flex, Chip on Glass, Flex on Board, Flex on Flex 및 Flex on Glass로 분류된다. 디스플레이의 고화질화/고집적화로 인한 전극 면적의 감소 및 Wearable 기기의 발전으로 인한 열악한 사용 환경에 적합한 높은 접속 신뢰성 특성이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 다양한 형태와 기재 특성과 전극의 미세화를 대응하기 위한 고신뢰성의 접착제 배합 기술과 전도성 입자의 개발을 통한 고성능 ACF 개발이 진행되고 있으며, 이러한 한계점을 넘기 위한 다양한 제품이 개발되고 있다. ACF 시장의 현황 및 향후 개발 방향에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

        기관허탈이 있는 개들에서 기관 내 Stent 장착 후 나타난 합병증 3례

        Three dogs were presented with signs of recurrence of coughing, dyspnea and difficulty of barking after endotracheal stent placement. On the basis of history taking, physical examination, laboratory tests and radiography,complications of endotracheal stent were suspected. Dog 1 had unfitted stent diameter (stent diameter is larger than tracheal diameter) and getting disentangled of proximal tracheal stent wire. Dog 2 was suspected a foreign body reaction. Dog 3 had the migration of stent caudally. Based on these cases, the veterinarian should accurately evaluate the indicated patients before endotracheal stent and has to select the appropriate stent (diameter, length and location) to prevent complications after endotracheal stent and concern the regular follow-ups to assure proper endotracheal stent placement.

        곰팡이 독소인 ochratoxin A(OTA)는 신장독성, 최기형성, 발암성 및 면역독성을 나타내며, 식품, 곡류 및 정육등에 잔류한다고 알려져 있다. 최근 우리나라의 된장, 간장 등 발효식품에서도 OTA의 전반적인 위해성 평가의 일환으로 OTA의 독성 표적장기인 신장에 초점을 맞추어 신장독성 감소 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 신장독서을 감소시키기위한 대상물질로는 1) 기존에 독성 감소 물질로 알려진 phenylalanine(Phe)2) phenylalanine과 aspartic acid로 구성된 가미료인 아스파탐(Asp),3)녹차의 성분이며 free radical scavenger 및 antioxdant 작용이 있는 polyphenol 70ㄴ(PP),4)최근수명연장 효과가 있고 특히 신장질환에 대한 예방효과가 있다고 알려진 알로에 추출물(AE)을 선택하였다. 신장독성을 유발시키기 위하여 OTA를 2.0mg/kg의 용량으로 2주간 연속 경구추여하였다. Phe (40mg/kg,i.p.)과 Asp(25mg/kg,p.o)은 OTA(2.0mg/kg,p.o)와 병용투여하였으며, PP(200mg/kg,p.o.)는 OTA 투여 2주전부터 AE (501ng/kg, i.v.)은 3일전부터 전처리하여 OTA (2.Omg간9, f.a)와 2주간 병용투여하였다. 신장독성의 확안은.혈청중 BUN, creatinine치 및 뇨중 y-glutamyltranspeptidase와 』ㄴacetyl-,5-D-slucoaarninidase의 팔성을 측정하였고 신장에 대한 조직병리 검사를 실시하였다. 실험결과, OTA를 2주간 2.Omg/kg용량으로 투여한 결과 신장 독성이 유발되었으며,독성 감소물질로 사용한 4개의 화합물 모두 혈액 및 뇨 중 신장독성 지표를 유의성 있게 감소시켰다. 조직병리 검사 결과 OTA에 좌하여 신장의 근위세뇨관에 변성이 유발되었으며, 4개의 화합물 처리군에서는 변성이 관찰되지 않았다. 이러한 결과펄부터 Phe, Asp, PP 및 A료는 모두 OTA에 의한 신장독성을 감소션킬 수 있으며, OTA에 의한 신장독성 유발에는 Phe콘 대한 경쟁작용 및 free radical 생성치 관여되어 있음을 확글할 수 있었다. In this study we investigated the protective effects of aspartame (Asp), phenylalanine(Phe), polrphenoB 705(PP) and aloe estract (AE ) on the nephrotoxicity induced by subacute exrolurewere admiai'ftered to Spragu,e-Dawley rats simultaneously with 07,c, (2.Omg/kg, f.a) for 2 weeks. PP (200mg/kg, f,o.) and AE (SOmg/Etg, i. u.) were pretreated before adminfstration of OTA, for 2 weeks and3 days, respectivelf. Using e]Ixymuria, BUN level, creatfneinia and histophathologic examination as indices of renal damage, we observed that all of four compvnds preveBted the nephrotoxic effects inducedby OTA. It seems that stnlct,ural analogues of OTA such as Asp and Phe have better protective effecton the nephrotoxicity of OTf. than aBtioxidants. These results indicate that 1) formation of free radicaland lipid peroxidation are like?y to be involved in the nephrotoxicity of OTA in vivo,2) Asp, PP and AEare might be used for prevent,ion of renal lesions in cases of ochratoxicosis.
