Purpose To evaluate the effect of heart rate on peak enhancing time and degree of enhancement at 64-MDCT coronary angiography. Materials and Methodes Between January and December 2007, a total of 300 consecutive patients (200 men, 100 women; age range, 24~86 years; mean, 53 years) were included in this study. CT examinations were performed by using a 64-slice MDCT scanner(LightSpeed VCT 64 Channel : GE). Patients were divided into five groups by heart rate : group I (46~55bpm), II(56~65bpm), III(66~75bpm), IV(76~85bpm), and V(86~95bpm). And peak enhancing time and peak Ra Which obtained on ascending thoracic aorta were analyzed. Results Peak enhancing time in group I, II, III, IV, and V were 20.85sec, 19.72sec, 18.50sec, 18.22sec, and 16.80sec. And peak ROI were 160HU, 166HU, 169HU, 185HU, and 207HU. Conclusions As heart rate is reduced, peak enhancing time is delayed and degree of enhancement is decreased.
