We had collected two taxa Aster Spathulifolia from Island Querpart in 1965 and Aster Oharay from Island Dagelet in 1966. We were interested in the comparative studies of gross morphology and cytology between the two taxa. The study shown as followed. 1) In the external shape of leaf, Aster Oharay is wider than Aster spathulifolia, the former is 9 dentated while the latter is 5~6 dentated. 2) The differences in epidermal patterns of the two taxa are observed. In the size of stoma and cell, Aster Oharay is strickingly smaller than Aster Spathulifolia. 3) The two taxa are same in chromosome number.
