중소제조기업에서 품질경영관행이 혁신에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 중소제조기업들에서 품질경영관행이 혁신에 영향을 미치는가를 검증하는 것이다. 품질경영관행이 혁신으로 귀결된다고 업계에서는 알고 있지만, 실제로 ISO를 중심으로 제도화되는 경향이 있는 품질경영은 혁신에 장애를 가져올 수도 있어, 상황적합적으로 품질경영의 유효성을 규정하는 연구들이 등장하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 품질경영관행은 March(1991)의 개념구조에 따라 활용형 품질경영과 탐색형 품질경영으로 나누고, 어떤 형태의 품질경영관행이 혁신으로 귀결되는가를 실증적으로 조사하였다. 국내 182개 중소제조업체를 설문조사하여 검정한 결과, 탐색형 품질경영관행은 상황에 따라 유의한 영향을 미치지만 전통적인 활용형 품질경영관행은 그러하지 않다는 것이 밝혀졌다. The purpose of this study is to validate the quality management practices affect the innovation in small and medium sized manufacturing companies. Although the industry knows that the quality management practices would result in innovation, quality management, which actually tends to be institutionalized around the ISO, may lead to failure in innovation. Contingency approach to TQM into innovation appeared to validate the effectiveness of TQM. In this study, quality management practices, which was divided by exploitation quality management and exploration quality management in accordance with the concept of March(1991), were investigated empirically whether TQM resulted in innovation depending on the circumstances or not. From the survey for 182 small and medium-sized domestic manufacturers in this study, only exploration TQM had significant influence on the innovation but the traditional exploitation TQM did not.
