Digestibility comparisons were made using Korean native cattle, native goat, sheep, rabbit, pig and poultry with two different roughages, two different concentrates and soybean oil cake. a. Digestibility difference for roughages There were no significant differences in digestion coefficients, D.C.P. and T.D.N, content, except N.F.E in the case of good quality hay, and crude protein and crude fat in the case of poor quality hay between Korean native cattle, native goat and sheep. However, there were significant differences between the animals mentioned above and rabbit in all digestion coefficients, D.C.P. and T.D.N. content, except crude protein and crude fat. b. Digestibility difference for concentrates There were significant differences in digestion coefficients and digestible nutrients between the animal used. Digestibility of sheep and native goat, and pig and poultry showed similar trend. Rabbit Showed the highest T.D.N. content in the case of corn. However, this superiority in digestibility disappeared in the case of wheat bran. c. Digestibility difference for soybean oil cake Significant differences in digestibility of crude fat, N.F.E. crude fiber, and T.D.N. content were found between ruminants and monogastric animals. No significant differences were observed in digestibility of crude protein and D.C.P. content between the animals used.

A feeding trial and digestibility tests were conducted to know the effects on fattening performance and digestibility of steam-rolled corn and barley grain compared with ground ones. Twenty eight Korean Native bulls (350㎏) and 16 mature rams were used as test animals for 100 days in feeding trial and 15 days in digestibility test, respectively. The steam-rolled corn grain were significantly(P$lt;.05) increased in DM and NFE digestibility, and in TDN content compared ground one. The steam-rolled barley, however, did not response (P$lt;.05) in statistics of those, but tended to be increased. In feeding trial, the animals fed steam-rolled corn grain were increased body weight gain and decreased feed consumption per ㎏ gain compared the animals fed ground one. Otherwise, the animals fed steam-rolled barley were de creased body weight gain and increased feed consumption per unit of gain com pared ground one. In slaughtering result, the carcass percent did not differ between steamrolled and ground in both of the grains.

Effects of supplemented dried poultry manure and/or rice bran to the urea treated rice straw, moisture contents in the materials and treatment periods on the urea hydiclusis and in vitro DM digestibility (DDM) were studied. The 4×2×3 factorial design were used. Four main treatments were: (1) urea treated (6%) rice straw (control); (2) control + 10% rice bran (T₁); (3) control+ 10% dried poultry manure (T₂); and (4) control + 10% rice bran + 10% dried poultry manure (T₃). Moisture levels were 30 and 45%. The mixed materials were stored 1, 2 and 4 weeks in a small plastic bags. However, the moisture levels in T₁ were 30, 45 and 60% in order to know the effects of higher levels. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The NH₃-N concentrations in the materials were increased (P$lt;.01) by supplementation of rice bran or poultry manure, but decreased urea-N by supplementation of those. 2. The CWC, ADF and Cellulose contents in T₁ and T₂ were significantly decreased compared to those in control, However did not differ (P$lt;.05) between supplemented materials. 3. The in vitro DDM was highly increased (p$lt;.01.) by supplementation of rice bran or poultry manure, but did not differ (p$gt;.05) between T₁ and T₂. That of the T3 was significantly improved (P$lt;.05) as compared with T₁ or T₂. 4. Increased moisture levels resulted in increased NH₃-N (P$lt;.05), but did not differ in in vitro DDM. 5. Prolonged stored period did not affect in vitro DDM and chemical composition except NH₃-N contents.

Experiments were conducted to know effects of urease supplementation and treatment periods on urea hydrolysis, chemical composition and in vitro DM digestibilities (DDM) of the urea-ammonia treated rice straw. A 4x4 factorial design was used. Four main treatments were: (1) rice straw + urea (T₁); (2) rice straw + soyaurease (T₂); (3) T₁ + soya-urease; (4) T₁ + urease. Four treatments periods were 2, 7, 14 and 21 days. The urea was added in an amount of 6% of the air dried rice straw weight, and moisture contents of the treated materials were around 50%. The test materials were tightly enclosed in small plastic bag and stored in room temperature. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The urea treated rice straw supplemented Soya-urease (T₃) or urease (T₄) showed significantly (P$lt;.05) increased NH₃-N concentration and decreased urea-N concentration compared to without urease (T₁) and only urease (T₂). The Soya-urease supplementation resulted in more urea hydrolysis in comparison to urease. 2. The CWC contents in T₃ were least among urea teeated rice straw, but there was nonsignificant difference (P$lt;.05) among them, The CWC contents in T₂ (only urease) appeared significantly high (P$lt;.05) compared to the other plots. The ADF content was not significantly different among main treatments. 3. The average in vvitro DDM of the T₃ was significantly (P$lt;.05) improved compared to the other test plots. And that of the T4 was higher (P$lt;.05) than T₁, and T₂ was lowest among treatments. 4. The NH₃-N and urea-N concentration in treated materials were significantly (P$lt;.01) influenced by treatment periods. The NH₃-N concentration was increased, and the urea-N concentration decreased with prolonged periods. The CWC, ADF and in vitro DDM, however, did not differ among periods. 5. There were noninteraction appeared between main treatment and periods in all parameters except NH₃-N and urea-N concentrations.

A 5×3×3 factorial design was used to know effects of urea levels (0, 2, 4, 6 and Sri, W/dry W), moisture contents in the rice straw (15, 30 and 45%) and treatment periods (2, 4 and 8wks) on chemical composition and in vitro dry matter digestibility (DDM) of the urea-ammonia treated rice straw. The chopped and treated rice straw was stocked in a small polyethylene bag. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Increased urea levels resulted in decreased (P$lt;.01) cell wall constituents (CWC) of the rice straw and increased (P$lt;.01) in vitro DM digestibility. 2. Increased moisture levels in the rice straw increased (P$lt;.01) in vitro DDM, but did not significantly in fluence on CWC contents. 3. Increased treatment period appeared in increased (P$lt;.05) CWC content and in vitro DDM. 4. There appeared interactions among factors on chemical compositions and in vitro DDM except between moisture levels and treatment periods of the in vitro DDM.

Six rams (50∼60Kg) fitted with permanent rumen canulae were used in comparison on feed intake, digestibility and chemical characteristics of rumen contents and blood plasma between anhydrous ammonia treated (3%, w/w) rice straw (ATRS) and urea as a source of ammonia treated(6%, w/w) rice straw(UTRS). Animals were fed individually concentrate and treated rice straw twice daily. Concentrate was fed as 1% of body weight throughout the experiment. But the straw was given ad libitum during the first 14 days, and was adjusted for the digestibility period. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The rams fed ATRS increased straw intake and digestibilities of dry matter, crude fiber, CWC and ADF compared to the UTRS. The digestibility of crude protein of the UTRS was higher than that of the ATRS. 2. The diurnal pattern of the PH in rumen juice did not differ between two treatments. 3. The NH₃-N concentrations in rumen contents of the UTRS at 1 hour after feeding intake appeared higher compared to that of the ATRS. The diurnal pattern, however, showed trends to be similar in both treatments. 4. The diurnal patterns of the individual VFA concentration in rumen contents except butyrate were similar between treatments. The butyrate levels of the UTRS showed significantly lower compared to the ATRS at just before feeding, and 3 and 6 hours after feeding. 5. The NH₃-N and Urea-N concentration levels in blood plasma of the UTRS appeared significantly higher compared to that of the ATRS. But it was not enough to reach toxic levels.

In this paper, the several fatigue design methods were suggested, and verified their reliabilities. Particularly, in the case of the maximum principal stress, welding residual stress formidably generating in spot welding process was considered.<br/> For predicting fatigue life of spot welded lap joint having specific dimensions, additional fatigue test are generally required. In order to improve such problem, the maximum stress function presenting the ?? relation was defined from the relations between ?? and ?? . By using the fatigue data on the 1B type spot welded lap joints previously obtained from the fatigue test results, fatigue life of the spot welded lap joint having specific dimension was predicted without any additional fatigue tests. And its result was verified by ?? curves<br/>
