The purpose of this study is to derive housing planning elements necessary for public rental housing to restore mental health and provide the high-quality residential environment for single-person middle-aged households. The process of this study started with establishing an analysis framework based on middle-aged residential environment requirements and the three principles of supportive design theory by Roger Ulrich (1991) through areview of previous studies and then conducted case studies of five public rental housing complexes. As a result, A sense of control category was satisfied in regard to the size of individual residental spaces, but wasn’t satisfied enoughly in regard to the space layout. They needed additional spaces. Positive distraction category was satisfied since every complex provided the opportunities to contact nature, by using of eco-friendly materials, balcony, and green space within the complex boundary. In terms of the third principle which emphasizes the of social support, there was a lack of additional facilities for the middle-aged. The research thus suggested that more attentions to this aspect are needed from the planners and designers.

주거안전 취약거처 관련 법규에 관한 문헌고찰 연구: 반지하와 옥탑주거를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to examine domestic and foreign codes and regulations regarding semi-basement housing and rooftop units, and to discuss the points that these two housing types need to be improved and considered in the future to function as safe housing. Keyword searches and analysis were conducted. As a result of reviewing the current building and residential codes and regulations of vulnerable housing, focusing on semi-basement housing and rooftop housing, the identified problems were related to 1) the minimum housing standards that are not suitable for the current situation and 2) the evacuation and fire protection standards that are difficult to apply to these two housing types. Above all, considering that both semi-basement and rooftop units are vulnerable to flooding and fire, it is urgent to prepare safety-related standards for vulnerable dwellings. Inclusive and detailed codes and regulations should be established so that semi-basement and rooftop units can serve as safe housing for residents in the future.
구형설탕입자를 기공형성물질로 이용한 3차원 유연 전도성 스케폴드 제조

본 연구는 환경 친화적인 구형 설탕입자 어셈블리에 산화제 함침 열가소성 폴리우레탄(thermoplastic polyurethane, TPU) 매트릭스를 코팅하고 피롤 단량체의 in situ 기상 중합(vapor phase polymerization; VPP)을 사용하여 부드럽고 유연한 3차원 전도성 폴리피롤(polypyrrole, PPy)-TPU 하이브리드 스케폴드를 제조하는 공정에 관한 것이다. TPU 매트릭스의 표면과 내부 모두에서 균일한 PPy 형성을 가져오는 Py의 효과적인 침투, 확산 및 중합과 함께 설탕 입자 어셈블리의 선택적인 제거로 유연한 다공성 스케폴드를 구현하였다. 얻어진 스케폴드의 기계적 및 전기적 특성은 굽힘, 응력-변형 및 전기적 측정에 의해 조사되었다. 12시간 동안 VPP 중합한 PPy-TPU 스케폴드의 전기 저항은 1 MΩ 정도를 보였으며, 100번의 굽힘 반복 실험에도 저항값이 크게 변화하지 않았다. 시험관 내 생체 적합성은 MC3T3-E1 세포 배양 및 WST 분석법을 사용하여 확인하였다. 따라서 VPP에 의해 제조된 부드럽고 유연한 다공성 PPy-TPU 하이브리드 지지체는 실제적으로 유용할 수 있으며, 이 예비 연구는 향후 전기 자극 하에서 근육 및 신경 세포의 행동 연구를 위한 기초 데이터로 활용 가능할 것이라 기대한다. Herein, we use in situ vapor phase polymerization (VPP) of pyrrole (Py) on an oxidant-impregnated thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix comprising a three dimensional eco-friendly sugar particle assembly to produce a soft, flexible, and conductive polypyrrole (PPy)-TPU hybrid scaffold. The selective removal of sugar assembly yielded a highly porous skeletal structure, with the effective penetration, diffusion, and polymerization of Py resulting in uniform PPy formation both on the surface and the inner side of the TPU matrix. The mechanical and electrical properties of the obtained scaffold were investigated by bending and stress–strain and electrical measurements. The electrical resistance of the scaffold prepared by 12 h polymerization, equaled 1MΩ and did not significantly change after 100 fold bending. In vitro biocompatibility was investigated by MC3T3-E1 cell culturing with cell viability evaluated using the WST assay. Thus, the soft and flexible PPy-TPU hybrid scaffold produced by VPP might be practically useful, implying that this preliminary investigation needs to be extended to study the behavior of muscle and nerve cells under electrical stimulation.
고령친화대학 도입을 위한 서울시 노인 복지시설의 유니버설 디자인 가이드라인에 관한 연구

Several countries, including South Korea, which is about to enter a super-aged society, are establishing elderly-friendly infrastructure to cope with the aging problem. Among them, there is a possibility that aging-in-place and intergenerational exchanges for the elderly can be induced through ‘age-friendly universities’ based on local universities, which are socio-economic resources of the local community. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to research how to improve and utilize existing university facilities in an elderly-friendly way in terms of space through universal design guidelines for the introduction of age-friendly universities. Case study and literature review were conducted for this study. Through case analysis at internal and external senior-friendly universities, we examined how age-friendly universities are operated, and arrived at a lack of spatial research. The universal design guideline for welfare facilities in Seoul were analyzed, and common design elements were extracted around four spaces that can be applied to age-friendly universities; transition, learning, sanitary and rest space. When introducing age-friendly universities, safety and accessibility should be increased in consideration of wheelchair users and the weak walking, flexibility to use space in various ways, and comfortable and open space plans are needed to lead to communication between users. Therefore, when introducing an age-friendly university in the future, the elements should be applied to existing university buildings to utilize them as the safe and comfortable facilities for the elderly.
공공임대주택의 녹색건축 인증과 주택정책과의 연계성 분석 연구

The purpose of this research is to examine the government’s green building certification policy and housing policy, analyze the link between the status of obtaining green building certification and the government’s housing policy. The study was conducted through literature review and policy analysis on green building certification-related policy and supply of public rental housing-related housing policy, content analysis on government reports, and related previous research. The Green Building Certification program was established in 2002 and revised later, and finally activated green building certification in 2013. Also, the government shifted the attention of the public rental housing policy to improving resident’s quality of life, expanded the supply to the resident groups of the unmarried single, and newlyweds, and prepared guidelines to secure their living quality. This research looked at the relationships between the increasing number of G-SEED certified public rental housing and governmental housing policies and found some correlations. Yet, there are still some complaints in G-SEED certified public rental houses. We also found a limited resources available for multicultural families, among the beneficiaries of housing welfare policies. Therefore, the study concluded that post-certification regulations are needed and the beneficiary groups need to be expanded further.
주거 안전 취약 계층의 주택 개선 필요 사항 및 수리 지원 사업의 수요에 관한 연구

To improve the poor living conditions of semi-basement dwellings, Seoul has been offering various house repairing support programs. The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of repairing support projects for vulnerable housing groups. In-depth interviews were conducted with 186 semi-basement residents from July 24, 2023, to October 3, 2023. The study was carried out through a content analysis. Major findings were: 1) The number of respondents who have experienced flooding is 38.17%, of which the majority of respondents have experienced flooding until recently. 2) The problems caused by outdated semi-basement living units were ranked in the order of plumbing, interior finishing, and water leakage, with 18% of residents responding that ‘humidity’ was the most discomforting issue. The majority of respondents had no experience in applying for or utilizing the support programs or had negative perceptions for the programs, and they indicated that official programs for protecting tenants are strongly needed.
