This research has been launched in order to observe the osteological development of sevenband grouper, Epinephelus septemfasciatus larvae and juveniles and will be used for the basic data of phylogenetically systematics research. We got some samples of larvae and juveniles from a adult fish which belongs to the sea cage in Geomun-do, Yeosu-si, Jeolla-namdo province, and we have watched them. The average of breeding water temperature was 21.5~24.5°C (average 23.0±1.5 °C). In yolk-sac larvae just after hatching, ossification was not observed at all, and when the average total length reached 2.66 mm, the premaxillary and maxillary forming the upper jaw, dentary forming the lower jaw, and parasphenoid forming the skull base were ossified. In addition, the preopercle and opercle forming the opercular region began to be ossified. The caudal skeleton supporting the caudal fin is built with the caudal complex consisting of the malleus and incus. Until the average total length reached 2.59 mm, ossification did not occur at all and the urostyle bent at 45-degree angle. As to the ossification of the pterygiophore, when the average total length was 6.12 mm, the first interhemal spine began to be ossified in articulation with two spines of the anal fin, and the synapse also began to be ossified in articulation with two spines of the dorsal fin. When the average total length was 21.9 mm, individuals with completed ossification of the interhemal spines and synaptic clefts began to appear.

We propose a fully non-local quasicontinuum in order to observe more realistic behaviors for mechanical deformations of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) on the viewpoint of length-scale. This coarse-graining model using high order interpolation function is adopted for finding the positions of atoms and for describing deformation on the curved structure. Cluster-based summation rule and inner displacement are used for approximating energy of reduced system and for assuring more exact equilibrium configuration of CNT, respectively. Furthermore, as we combine the QC algorithm with first principles calculation, the hybrid scheme makes it possible to enlarge the length scale for simulation and to predict more accurately the configuration as well as to obtain the electronic structure of the system.
저수온 스트레스에 따른 능성어 (Epinephelus septemfasciatus) 혈액의 생리생화학적 반응

This study was conducted to investigate the physiological responses of sevenband grouper, Epinephelus septemfasciatus at low temperature condition in winter season. Water temperature was dropped from 12℃ to 5℃ by two different interval (interval I: -1℃/24 h and interval II: -1℃/8 h). The experimental fishes were exposed for 9 days at each water temperature condition, and were observed survival rate. The blood sample was collected from fishes for analysis of cortisol, glucose, total protein (TP), and electrolytes (Na(+), C(l-), K(+)). Mortality of fish was not observed until 5℃. The mortality (12 individuals) began after 170 h and all fish were death after 174 h in interval I case, whereas the mortality (9 individuals) began after 72 h and all fish were death after 76 h in interval II case. Little different was observed in the physiological responses, but trend was similar between two intervals. The physiological metabolism of plasma cortisol and glucose were increased rapidly, and swimming ability and respiration response was faster at 7℃. This result means that the critical temperature of sevenband grouper was 7℃ at low water temperature condition.

Histological and morphological development of the digestive tract of sevenband grouper were observed from after hatching to 60 days. Fishes were fed with rotifer (Brachionus rotundiformis) and chlorella (Chlorella ellipsoidea) after hatching from 2 to 20 days rotifer and brine shrimp (Artemia salina) in after 20 days rotifer, brine shrimp and semi-dry artificial diet in after 23 days. Histological and morphological development of ten larvae was observed by paraffin embedding method after fixing in 10% neutral buffered formalin. Sevenband grouper RLG showed characteristics of carnivorous fish by average 0.87. Larvae after hatching can`t open the mouth and anus digestive tract was observed in a straight line following yolk sac. Larvae was observed feeding activity by opening the mouth and anus. Metamorphosis started 8 days after hatching. Esophagus divided four layer, and goblet cell was observed in esophagus, mid intestine and rectum. Larvae started cannibalism and it was caused by difference of growth. The inside of stomach was differentiated to cardiac orifice, body of stomach, pyloric stomach, and pyloric caeca. Goblet cell was observed all intestine. Gastric gland differentiated after hatching 28 days in stomach. Secretion of gastric juice was found at stomach and mucosal fold pyloric caeca. Even thought the inside of stomach expended and the number of gastric gland increased consistently and goblet cell in intestine and mucosa became longer, histochemical changes follow couldn`t be found during transforming juveniles 38 days after hatching.
