Vol.58 No.-

In this study, a simple method of synthesizing SnO2 nanowires using only metal Sn powder and air was presented and the fabricated nanowires were applied to a gas sensor. The appropriate process pressure applied in the synthesis process was between 1 and 100 torr, and the air flow was appropriately controlled between 0 and 10 cc depending on the change in process pressure conditions, enabling satisfactory synthesis of SnO2 nanowires. The synthesized SnO2 nanowires showed sufficient density and had a 3-D network structure that was mechanically and electrically interconnected, so they could be implemented as a gas sensor device by properly connecting between electrodes. The gas sensor measurement results showed a sensitivity of 340 for NO2 20ppm and a sensitivity of about 7 for NO2 1ppm.

In this study, the effects of back cover materials on the electromagnetic properties of mobile phone were studied. As the efficiency of the PIFA antenna with plastic covers was 0.956 and the efficiency of the antenna with zirconia cover was 0.953, the antenna efficiency decrease was insignificant. The effect of zirconia cover on wireless power transmission also studied. When the cover material changes from plastic to zirconia, S21 parameter of 175 kHz Tx-Rx coil was reduced by approximately 1 dB.

H . Park,I . K . Han,J . K . Vol.27 No.8

To examine the relative nutritive value of sorghum to corn for laying hen, 20 weeks old 240 Single Comb White Leghorn (SCWL) starting layer were employed and randomely assigned to each of 5 experimental diets which were prepared by the substitution of sorghum for corn portion (60%) of the basal diet with various ratios, ie, 60% corn (control), 45% corn + 15% sorghum, 30% corn + 30% sorghum, 15% corn + 45% sorghum and 60% sorghum. Five groups of starting layers employed in this study has been pretreated with the same manner as laying period during the growing period. Hens were fed phase I (21-42 weeks) and phase II diet (43-62 weeks) during the laying period, and laying performances were examined. Egg production rate tended to decrease with the increase of sorghum level. However, only 60% sorghum group showed significantly (p$lt;0.01) low egg production (75.28%) as compared to that of control group (79.42%). In average egg weight and feed efficiency, there was no significant (p$gt;0.05) difference among treatments. Feed consumption tended to decrease with increased sorghum level with no significant (p$gt;0.05) differences among treatments. Egg yolk color index was significantly (p$lt;0.01) affected by the substitution level of sorghum. There were no significant differences among treatments in dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, and total carbohydrate utilizabilities. However, sorghum 60% group showed a little lower crude protein utilizability compared with other dietary groups.

Vol.20 No.1

Vol.8 No.1

Communication is not defined in a single tone, But its definitions may be grouped into three categories. First category, often discovered in many dictionaries, is based on the idea of "transfer" of informarion. Second group rests on the idea of "influence or effect" rather than a tranfer of anything. Charles E. Osgood is representative scholar, and this viewpoint is dominant even today. Third definition is noteworthy for its emphasis on human relationship. For example, sociologist Charles Cooley defined communication as the mechanism through which human relations exist and develop. Our concept of communication is based on this last definition. Generally communication process consists of the following five elements; communicator, channel, message, communicatee, effect. But these five elements are not necessarily included in any situations. Often we cannot specify the effect of a given communication, and sometimes cemmunicator may be overlapped with communicatee as in the case of intra-personal communication, However it can be said that communicator. message and communicatee are the minimum components of human communication, and communication is completed if one (communicatee) understands the message of which connotation is given by the other (communicator). But the problem is that one understands the other's message only through his own frame of reference which is determined by his experiences. If one's cognitive systems are similiar to the other's, communication may be more effective and there will be no more misunderstanding. From this we can deduce that the field of common experiences is prereguisite to any human communication. In addition, it is more important that this field is conditioned and provided by cultural system as any prople's way of life. Therefore we can analize human communication in the context of cultural system Anthroplogist Edward. T. Hall investigated this correlation between cultural system and communication. He treats communication system as cultural systems in his "The Silent Language". Of course, we know that human communication cannot bi understood exclusively by this viewpoint. Moreover, given a common cultural background, the variance in human communications mast be explainded in other context. But even then grasping cultural factors is necessary to broaden our perspective. Reflection on cultural aspects of human communication may bring more useful results in the following areas, (1) Non-verbal communication (2) Cross-cultural communication (3) National Development and Communication (4) Interpretation of the results in experimental studios. If communication is something people to do, it has no life of its own, and to study communication is to study people, then it is too reasonable that we must give our attention to the cultural aspects of human communication. For this the perspective of cultural anthropology may be more helpful.
