This survey was carried out to investigate the incidence of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows of Gyeongnam area from March 1987 to February 1988. Also performed were the isolation of microorganisms from RBV positive milk samples and drug susceptibility testing of the isolates. Two hundred and thirty-eight cows(43.2%) of 655 cows were found to be infected with subclinical mastitis and infection rate in quarters was 19.9% of 2,595 quarters. The incidence of subclinical mastitis was significantly increased with advancing parity. In the incidence of subclinical mastitis by hygiene control of lactating cows, disinfectant udder wash, teat dipping and post hand-milking treatments were highly effective for diminishing of the incidence of subclinical mastitis, but drying cow therapy was little effect. The causative organisms isolated in order of prevalence were Staphylococcus aureus(40.0%), Staphylococcus epidermidis(18.5%), Micrococcus spp.(15.0%), Bacillus spp.(9.1%). Streptococcus dysgalactiae(7.2%), Escherichia coli(4.3%), Streptococcus uderis(3.1%), Streptococcus agalactiae(1.4%) and Corynebacterium spp.(1.3%). The 404 isolates of Staphylococcus spp., 65 Streptococcus spp. and 50 Bacillus spp. were highly sensitive to cephalothin and chloramphenicol, while all of them were highly resistant to streptomycin and colistin. Twenty-four strains of Escherichia coli were resistant to penicillin, streptomycin and kanamycin. but were mostly sensitive to chloramphenicol.
Adsorption and Dissociation Reaction of Carbon Dioxide on Pt(111) and Fe(111) Surface: MO-study

Comparing the adsorption properties and dissociation on a Pt(111) iththat ona Fe(111) surface, we have con-sidered seven coordination modes of the adsorbed binding site: $di-${\sigma}$${\Delta}$\mu\pi/\mu$, 1-fbld,2-fold, and 3-fbld sites. On the Pt(111) surface, t he adsorbed binding site of carbon dioxide was strongestat the1-fold site and weakest at the $\pi/\mu-site.$ The adsorbed binding site on the Fe(111) surface was strongest at the di-бsite and weakest at the 3-fold site. We have found that the binding energy at each site that excepted 3-fold on the Fe(111) surface was stronger than the binding energy on the Pt(111) surface and that chemisorbed $CO_2bends$ because of metal mixing with $2\piu${\rightarrow}$6a_1CO_2orbital.$, The dissociation reaction occured in two steps, with an intermediate com-plex composed of atomic oxygen and ${\pi}bonding$ CO forming. The OCO angles of reaction intermediate com-plex structure for the dissociation reaction $were115^{\circ}Con$ the Pt(111), and $117^{\circ}C$ on the Fe(111) surface. We have found that the $CO_2dissociation$ rea11) surface proceeds easily,with an activationenergy about 0.2 eV lower than that on the Pt(111) surface.

Houttuynia cordata Thunb, well known as 'E-Sung-Cho' in Korea, is a traditional medicinal plant generally used in Oriental medicine therapy. In the present study, we investigated the effect of water extract of H. cordafa (WEHC) on the growth of human breast carcinoma MCF-7 cells. Exposure of MCF-7 cells to WEHC resulted in growth inhibition and apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner as measured by MTT assay and fluorescent microscope. The anti-proliferative effect of WEHC was associated with a dose-dependent up-regulation of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21 in a p53-independent fashion. We found WEHC decreased the levels of cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthease (iNOS) expression without significant changes in the expression of COX-1 , which was correlated with a decrease in prostaglandin $E_2{\;}(PGE_2)$ synthesis. Taken together, these findings provide important new insights into the possible molecular mechanisms of the anti-cancer activity of H. cordata.
Efficient Hybrid ARQ with Space-Time Coding and Low-Complexity Decoding

본 논문에서는 Space-Time code를 사용하는 다중 안테나 시스템에서 Hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ)의 처리능력(throughput)을 향상시키는 기법을 제안한다. 우선 낮은 복잡도를 가지는 Hard decision decoding (HDD) 방법에서 신뢰도 정보를 이용하여 복호 성능을 높일 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이렇게 제안된 알고리즘을 HARQ 프로토콜을 사용하는 시스템에 사용하여 낮은 복잡도를 유지하면서 전체 처리능력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 한다. 제안된 기법의 성능을 확인하기 위하여 처리능력을 수학적으로 분석하였으며, 모의실험을 통해 AWGN 채널 및 페이딩이 있는 다중입력 다중출력 채널뿐만 아니라 Impulse 잡음이 있는 환경에서도 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다. We aim at increasing the throughput of the hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) protocol in Space-Time (ST) coded multi-antenna transmission systems. By utilizing reliability information at the decoder, we obtain an improved probability of successful decoding, which enhances the overall system throughput at low-complexity. Simulations and analytical results demonstrate the performance of our scheme in impulse noise environment as well as AWGN and fading multi-input multi-ouput (MIMO) channels.

In this paper, we propose an automatic image registration method for multi-sensor image fusion such as visible and infrared images. The registration is achieved by finding corresponding feature points in both input images. In general, the global statistical correlation is not guaranteed between multi-sensor images, which bring out difficulties on the image registration for multi-sensor images. To cope with this problem, mutual information is adopted to measure correspondence of features and to select faithful points. An update algorithm for projective transform is also proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides robust and accurate registration results.
