Evaporation heat transfer in Smooth, Hex-type and B-type tubes of outer diameter 9.52 ㎜ with an alternative refrigerant of R410A(R32/R125, 50/50wt%) has been experimentally studied for a system pressure range of 0.65 ~ 0.75 ㎫. The heat transfer coefficients and the pressure drop are measured and presented as a function of quality and mass flux for the tubes. The average evaporation heat transfer coefficients for the Hex-type tube are higher than those for B-type and smooth tube. The pressure drops for the B-type tube are higher than those for the Hex-type. The evaporation heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops in Hex-type and B-type tubes for R410A are correlated as functions of quality and the Martinelli parameter.
