Seven years is surely a significant period of time. Yet, seven years in the war could be felt even longer. Admiral Yi Sun Sin spent that much time in the war and mostly on the sea. During the seven-year war period, he led all of the twenty series of sea battles against Japanese attacks to great victories. Admiral Yi devoted his time to drawing up strategic plans, checking up weaponries and training and encouraging soldiers for the period of no wars. He was able to enjoy a variety of personal activities in his free time,writing poems, drinking and having deep thoughts. His activities also included interpreting dreams, fortune telling and fighting against illness. He even experienced sleepless nights for deeply concerning about his nation. Admiral worried his family just like his soldiers did. This paper takes a close look at the life of a war commander named Yi Sun-Sin in the field. Both similarities as well as differences were found in his life in the war compared to that of other ordinary soldiers. Personally, Admiral Yi had to face unprecedentedly harsh fate throwing him into despair and hopelessness. In the capacity as a public figure however, his heart for genuinely concerning the nation never stopped. Under any circumstances and at any time, no his public heart as a public man was lost. Therefore, the significance of the life of Admiral Yi Sun Sin in the war lies in his distinguished character where he demonstratedgenuine mind and  pure spirit despite in the endlessly painful journey.

7년이라면 긴 세월이다. 더구나 전쟁 중의 7년이란 훨씬 더 길게 느껴질 수밖에 없다. 이순신은 그 긴 세월동안을 진중에서 지냈으며, 특히 거의 매일 바다위에 떠있는 배위에서 생활하였다. 그가 지휘하는 부대는 그동안 적과 치른 전투마다에서 승리하였다. 이순신은 전투가 없는 시간에는 전략을 수립하거나 무기를 점검하고 부하들을 훈련시키고 격려하였다. 나머지는 ‘개인적인 시간’이었는데 그는 이 시간에 많은 일들을 하였다. 그 시간에 그는 시를 쓰기도 하고, 술을 마시기도 했으며, 상념에 잡히기도 하였다. 또한 꿈을 꾸고 해몽을 하기도 했으며, 점을 치기도 했고, 질병에서 벗어나기 위해 몸부림치기도 하였다. 나라를 걱정하는 마음으로 잠을 이루지 못하기도 하였는가 하면 부하 장병들처럼 가족을 걱정하기도 하면서 지냈다. 이 글에서는 이순신이라는 한 지휘관의 진중생활을 살펴보았다. 그의 진중생활은 보통 군인들과 비슷한 점이 있는가하면, 특별하게 다른 점 또한 발견할 수 있었다. 개인적으로는 그에게 휘몰아치는 ‘혹독한 운명의 매질’을 감당해내기 어려울 때가 많아서 절망의 늪을 허우적거릴 경우도 많았다. 그러나 공적인 입장에서는 항상 나라를 걱정하는 마음이 잠시라도 그의 마음에서 떠나지 않았고, 언제 어떤 처지에서나 ‘공인’으로서의 ‘공심’을 잃지 않았다는 점이었다. 따라서 그의 진중생활은 고통의 연속선상에서도 ‘깨끗한 마음’과 ‘맑은 영혼’을 잃지 않는 비범함이 유지되었다는 점에 주목해야 할 것이다. Backgroud/Aims: In spite of continuous decrease in prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, hepatic diseases including hepatic cancer still are major causes of death in Korea. As a large portion of hepatic diseases is caused by HBV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) in Korea, we reviewed the serologic markers of HBV and HCV in adults in Daegu and Gyungbuk area for the last five years. Then, we compared them with the reported data of other areas. Methods: We studied total 21, 291 adults who had received medical examination at health promotion center of Dongsan Hospital from 1997 to 2001. Results: The overall serologic positivity of HBsAg and anti-HCV was 6.1% and 0.9%, respectively. Seven (0.03%) of 21, 291 were positive for both HBsAg and anti-HCV. The positivity of HBsAg was higher in male, highest in 4th and 5th decades. It decreased yearly from 1997 to 2001. The positivity of anti-HCV increased with age but there was no difference between both genders or examined years. Conclusions: The overall trend of viral markers in Daegu and Gyungbuk area was not different significantly from previously reported data of other areas. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2003;41:473-479)

노화와 소화기 질환: 위장관 기능 변화를 중심으로

이상을 요약하면 우선 노화가 진행될수록 장관신경계의 다양한 퇴화는 진행되는 것으로 보이나 세부 사항에 대해 일치된 결과는 아직 없는 실정이다. 식도의 경우 노화에 따른 내장신경계의 퇴화에 의해 운동성이 감소하는 것은 분명해 보이며 이로 인해 고령에서 연하 곤란 및 위-식도 역류 질환의 빈도가 증가한다. 위산 분비 역시 감소한다는 보고가 많으나 위산분비 기능 자체의 감소보다는 H. pylori 감염에 따른 위 선 위축에 의한 결과일 가능성이 많다고 여겨진다. 또한 위 점막 방어 기능의 감소에 의해 다양한 위장 질환의 빈도가 증가하는 것으로 보이며 위 배출 기능 역시 감소한다는 보고가 많으나 일치된 견해는 아직 없다. 그리고 다양한 위장관 호르몬 분비 기능에 변화가 있는 것으로 보이나 좀 더 연구가 필요하다. 소장의 경우 운동 기능에는 별 영향이 없다는 보고가 있으나 소장 점막 구조의 변화는 동반되는 것으로 최근 연구에서 보고되고 있다. 또한 위산 분비 기능 감소에 따라 소장 내 세균과다증식증의 빈도가 높아지며 따라서 노인에서 각종 흡수 장애가 쉽게 동반될 수 있다. 대장의 경우 내장신경계의 퇴화에 따라 대장통과가 지연되며 골반저 신경 및 근육들에도 영향을 미쳐 노인에서 변비가 흔히 발생하는 것으로 여겨진다. Although it is difficult to define the term aging consensually, in medical fields, usually it means the progressive accumulation of irreversible degenerative changes leading to loss of homeostasis. It is supposable that there is also modest decline in the structure and function of several digestive organs. However, data about this subject are not enough. Main problem in studying aging digestive organ is that discrimination of primary senile change of the organ with secondary one from other senile diseases is not easy. That is, the prevalence of many non-digestive disorders which can badly affect the digestive functions is increasing by aging; for example, diabetes, malignancy, etc. To prove that some phenomenon is as result of pure senile change, it is necessary to exclude secondary one, but, the process is very complicated and difficult. In spite of this limitation, here, I will discuss the senile change of several digestive organs by aging, especially at the view of the gastrointestinal functions, with review of literatures. 오픈아크 하드페이싱에서 고 Cr계와 복합후럭스계 용접 특성 비교

Abrasion of the current hard facing in welding material requires crushing rolls and most notably Cr wire welding and fabrication, and maintenance is to be considered as a trend. So in this study Cr in the W, Mo, Cb, V, to be added to the composite wire is gradually moved at high Cr wire specimens and composite specimens which are fabricated with wire and complex flux wire specimens. A more efficient and suitable material is to replaced by comparison. Therefore, two members of the weld microstructure and hardness and wear performance to be compared to more appropriate uses in the field and meet the ever verified were aimed at appling. 1) There were relatively huge difference from middle to high layer in the primary, M7C3 of High Cr wire specimen but the complex flux wire specimen’s distribution was appeared as a evenness. 2) The Cr wire welding’s hardness was more higher than the complex wire welding. 3) There were relatively less wear in the complex wire weld part compare to kind of overlay weld part.

There were many factors that contributed Admiral Yi s winning all the naval battles. And one of them, a highly efficient reward system made a great role in his victories. He was never defeated. The battles ended in favor of Admiral Yi s side. It was natural that he should win the victory, since there were his prominent strategy and leadership. A pertinent operation of reward system contributed greatly to the victory of the battle. In this research, it observed how Admiral Yi operated the reward system to motivate the men under his command, and the way it affected the morale of his men and how the victory could be realized. The basic concept of reward system of Yi contains two major considerations. The first one is systematic reward approach to reporting the achievements of his men to the royal court for receiving prizes and the second one is exercising his rights normally that embraces encouragement, acknowledgment to increase or maintain satisfaction. This writing is about the systematic reward.
