For fuel economy and pollutant reduction. the interests in alternative fuels has increased recently. In this study. We made an ignition system that can be controlled dwell time to change ignition energy. By using this system. we acquired experimental results as follows.<br/> l)It is high as the maximum temperature and pressure of the combustion chamber have propane rate in LPG fuels. 2)The ignition energy increased to fixed rate as the dwell time increased. 3)The combustion temperature and pressure increased and the ignition energy increased as an equivalence ratio richer.<br/>

Recently, Automobile manufacturers regarding stability, economic environmental-friendly problems by the development of automobile. This reason is increasingly strict environmental regulations to lower fuel consumption and reduce emission. Designing more efficient and low emission control exhaust system results in more efficient performance, reduced back pressure and higher convert efficiency. Also to reduce the noise and the vibration of the automobile. According to develop variable type muffler, dual muffler and active intelligence exhaust system unit. Improvement in engine performance and fuel consumption rate, higher conversion efficiency demand information of pressure fraction and heat characteristics. To be able to determine these factor for we experiment on each case of exhaust system unit. In this study, how back pressure is distributed in flow-through in exhaust system and how to design exhaust system flexibleness, efficiency, lower back pressure and optimal performance. This study furnish basic data for engineers, technicians.

It is necessary to consider the stability, economic environmental-friendly problems by the development of the road, supply of the automobile, environmental problem as designing the exhaust manifold system. To reduce the noise and the vibration of the automobile, it is needed to consider the pulsation noise, air current noise, vibration of air pipe which generate the intake and exhaust noise of the automobile. Moreover, the discharge sound, intake sound, radiation sound, transmitted sound are occurred. To reduce this influence, the variable valve is needed and to control these factor, path transformation muffler and active type muffler are needed. But engine efficiency could be reduced with this transformation, and resistance by the pressure, thermal property. In this study, in order to establish the optimized conditions design factors which are taking many performance as the variable valve, it shows how the standard performance and the additional element of the exhaust manifold system effects on the engine performance.
P/C렌즈 전조등 렌즈면의 온도분포에 관한 실험적 연구

This Paper deals with the headlamp lens surface temperature distribution of P/C headlamp using the three categories of H14 halogen bulbs. Glass is gradually replaced by P/C for the lens material of a vehicle headlamp due to the weight reduction and stream lined body of a vehicle. With this trend, the newly established standards for a headlamp with a P/C lens in Europe requires that the heat generated by a bulb should not distort the lens surface. Also the requirements for the bulb of a headlamp are being enforced in U.S.A & Europe. However, sueh requirements are not established yet in Korea.<br/> By using three kinds (60/55W, IOO/90W, 130/90W) of H4 halogen bulbs in this experiment, the surface temperature distribution and Max. temperature on the lens were measured. The results of this study implies the necessity of requirement for the bulb of a headlamp.

Recently, Automobile manufactures have developing automotive exhaust system under consideration for improvement in engine performance. It thus develop many exhaust components. For example active muffler, semi-active muffler, electronic muffler etc. In this components consider enhanced back pressure and reduction noise. Especially, In recent years it develop the study of semi-active muffler. Semi-active muffler is simple structure and excel performance. Recently many forms semi-active muffler was developed and adopted to the actual use in consideration of cost and technical side for noise and vibration. This study had main objects about the recently developed the semi-active muffler. It was to show its combustion performance as well as its enhanced back pressure characteristics in design. Therefore if the precise analysis of the combustion pressure according to the back pressure transmission was carried out, it was understood that this study would be utilized in the design of the exhaust system such as the semi-active muffler.

The allowable exhaust standard has been intensified as a part of the countermeasure to decrease air pollution in the world. As the cars with an alternative fuel starts to get into the spotlight, the cars with low emission has been introduced and exhaust gas regulation forced in this country. These days, LPG vehicles, which infrastructure of fuel was already built up, and CNG vehicles are recognized for alternative fuel cars in this country. In this study, the constant volume combustion chamber was manufactured and used for experiments to obtain the ignition characteristics of LPG thel and the optimal ignition energy. The experiment measured the combustion characteristics, in regard to the change of combustion variable, and the change of ignition energy. During the combustion of fuel, the maximum temperature inside the combustion chamber is higher when the initial pressure is higher. The burning velocity also seems to have the same characteristic as the temperature. however, the heat flux did not change much with the theoretical correct mixture but the various initial temperature of the combustion chamber. The heat flux got faster and ignition energy bigger as the dwell time of the ignition system expanded.<br/> When the dwell time get longer, the ignition energy also increased then fixed. The ignition energy increased as the initial pressure inside the combustion chamber higher. The heat flux got faster as the dwell time expanded.
스파크 점화 기관에서 흡·배기 밸브의 밀착 이상에 의한 연소특성에 관한 연구

The suction pressure of an abnormal condition spark ignition engine which has non adjusting intake valves becomes reduced and residual gas increases at a greater rate than under normal combustions. This reduction in suction pressure is caused by the distribution of in equalable air in a cylinder leading to abnormal combustion. If this condition continues, the engine ceases due to an increase in engine heat loss.<br/> In this study, we conducted tests to determine the combustion characteristics of a spark ignition engine under both normal and abnormal conditions. The results of this study will establish basic data analysis for developing an automotive diagnosis system by analyzing some of the factors including pressure in the cylinder, output signal of the MAP Sensor and Exhaust gases.
