This study investigated the relationships among marital conflict, child-rearing stress, and affection-rejection parenting for mothers of preschoolers. The subjects were 208 mothers who lived with at least one preschooler in Daegu or Gyeongbuk Province. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, and single and multiple regression, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results were as follows. (1) Mothers' marital conflict was negatively associated with affection parenting. However, the negative influence of mothers' marital conflict on affection parenting was mediated by child-rearing stress. (2) Mothers' marital conflict was positively associated with rejection parenting. However, the positive influence of mothers' marital conflict on rejection parenting was partially mediated by child-rearing stress.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-differentiation and covert narcissism with organization citizenship behavior on the part of teachers in childcare centers. The subjects consisted of 522 teachers who worked in childcare centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. The data collected were analyzed by means of Pearson`s correlation, and hierarchical regression, using SPSS Win 19.0. The results were as follows. (1) Self-differentiation was positively associated with organization citizenship behavior. However when covert narcissism was operating as control, self-differentiation was not associated with organization citizenship behavior. (2) Covert narcissism was negatively associated with organization citizenship behavior. (3) Between both covert narcissism and self-differentiation, only covert narcissism was associated with organization citizenship behavior. (4) There were observable interactional effects between self-differentiation and covert narcissism to organization citizenship behavior.
지각된 어머니의 반응/제한적 양육행동, 학령기 아동의 내현적 자기애와 학교 적응 간 구조모형 분석

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze a Structural Equation Model (SEM) of mothers’ responsive or restrictive parenting and covert narcissism and school adjustment among school children. Methods: The participants were 329 elementary school children in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. Self-reporting questionnaires were used to investigate the mothers’ responsive or restrictive parenting perceived by children and covert narcissism and school adjustment among school children. Results: The results were obtained using SEM and are as follows. First, mothers’ responsive parenting positively influenced children’s covert narcissism, and mothers’ restrictive parenting negatively influenced children’s covert narcissism. Second, children’s covert narcissism had a positive influence on school adjustment. Third, mothers’ responsive and restrictive parenting perceived by children indirectly influenced school adjustment by children’s covert narcissism. Conclusion: For children’s school adjustment, covert narcissism could be managed by more responsive and less restrictive parenting.

This study investigated characteristics of children`s coping behaviors in the context of perceived controllability of stress in hassles with parent(s), friend-alienation, friend-conflict, and in learning situations. The subjects were 489 sixth grade children selected from seven elementary schools in Seoul. Statistical analysis was by ANOVA, Scheffe′ test, and MANOVA. Major findings were that (1) Active, passive, aggressive, and avoidant coping differed by perceived controllability of stress in all 4 stress situations. The children who perceived a higher level of controllability were more active, and less passive, aggressive, and avoidant in coping with each hassle. (2) Perceived controllability was higher in learning related than in friend-conflict situations. Active, passive, and social support seeking coping behavior was higher in learning related stress situations than in friend-conflict situations. Avoidant coping behavior was lower in learning related than in friend-conflict situations.
