The purpose of this study is to investigate the damping property of full-scale lightweight steel frame with and without viscous damping devices by full scale shaking table test. We compared the damping factors of lightweight steel frames with and without oil dampers before and after the action of the 1995 Kobe earthquake and 2004 Mid Niigata prefecture earthquake. Making use of the acceleration record, damping factors and natural frequencies of the frames are identified by Separation estimation method and transfer function. And we confirmed validity of the damping factor by seismic response analysis.
