The effects of Eungyosan on the microbial growth were investigated. The antimicrobial activities and cell growth, which inhibits the effect, were investigated to Staphylococcus aureus ATCC13565 toxin A.D, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC14458 toxin B and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC19095 toxin C with different concentrations of Eungyosan. Eungyosan showed the antimicrobial activities on Staphylococcus aureus ATCC13565 toxin A.D, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC14458 toxin B and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC19095 toxin C. Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of Eungyosan appeared to 300mg/mL ~ 400mg/mL on Staphylococcus aureus ATCC13565 toxin A.D, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC14458 toxin B and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC19095 toxin C. The cell growth inhibitions by Eungyosan were observed from Staphylococcus aureus ATCC13565 toxin A.D, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC14458 toxin B and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC19095 toxin C during 48hrs incubation period.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of drug cost burden on the relationship betweenhousehold income and quality of life in hypertensive elderly. The subjects of this study were 4,722 elderly people aged65 or older who had hypertension among 180,130 patients who had Korea Health Panel. The analytical method used washierarchical regression analysis, and the mediating effect was tested according to the method proposed by Baron andKenny. The results showed that the partial mediation effect of drug cost burden was significant in relation to the householdincome and health-related quality of life of the elderly with hypertension. Based on the results of this study, we proposeto establish an income assistance program for drug cost burden of low-income elderly with hypertension.

Available lipid emulsions made from soybean or safflower oil are classified as long chain triglyceride (LCT). In contrast, medium chain triglycerides (MCT) have different physical properties and are metabolized by other pathways. Because the medium chain fatty acids are smaller than long-chain fatty acids, they are more water soluble and metabolized faster. To compare of stability the two type of total nutrient admixture (TNA), authors studied in 4 types of formular TNA based on LCT (Intralipose) and MCT/LCT based TNAs had smaller particle sizes when compared with LCT based TNA without significance, but had no significant difference in appearance, pH, hyperoxides and osmolarity. Therefore, We conclude that two types of TNAs were stable for 3 days at room temperature and under refrigeration. In addition to, MCT/LCT (1:1, IntraMCT) at room temperature and under refrigeration (4℃). In results, MCT/LCT based TNAs are more physicochemically stable and available to patients than LCT based TNAs.

Drug effect is depend on bioavailability of preparation and also bioavailability is largely depend on dissolution rate. This study was attempted to evaluate bioavailability of preparations for drug choice among many preparations by the dissolution test and content uniformity test of commercial loperamide hydrochloride capsules. The dissolution test was conducted in artificial gastrie juice, artificial intestinal juice and dissolution medium(KP Ⅵ) using Basket method with four loperamide hydrochloride preparations(A, B, C, D) which were pharmaceutically equivalent. The results were as follows : 1) The dissolution rate in artifitial intestinal juice and dissolution medium was higher in order of four different brands D > A > C > B. 2) Content uniformity of four different brands was better in such order as A > D > C > B.

The results were as follows: 1) The dissolution rate in aquas and artificial gastric juice was higher in the order of four different brands D〉C〉A〉B. 2) Content uniformity of four different brands was better in such order as B〉C〉A〉D. 3) There was no relationship between dissolution rate and content uniformity.
