This study was conducted to determine the cultivation technique to produce high quality herb of Agastache rugosa. Highest plant height, total chlorophyll content and net photosynthesis was recorded at 25℃ than at 15 and 30℃. Total chlorophyll content and net photosynthesis both shows decrease with the increase (30℃) and decrease (15℃) of temperature. Increase of temperature (30℃) causes early flowering but low temperature (15℃) delays the onset of flowering. Various growth and physiological parameters were studied under no shielding and different shielding conditions. Total chlorophyll content did not shoed any significant difference under different shielding percentage but net photosynthesis showed decreasing trend with increase in shielding percentage. Plant height and stem length showed significant increase at 30% shielding even over control (no shielding). The experiments on spacing between plants indicated that the length of herb and number of internodes increased with increase of spacing while number of green and matured plants decreased and its vice-versa. A. rugosa also checked for its growth parameters and oil content at low altitude and plane, our results indicate that the live weight and oil content of the plants is higher at low altitude area in comparison to plane. So it may be concluded that the cultivation of A. rugosa at semi-alpine is more suitable/beneficial for the production of high quality yield.

Time of cultivation is a very crucial factor for producing healthy seedlings and to increase yield quality of Thymus quinquecostatus Celakov. The aim of this study was to determine the optimum cultivation time so that we got healthy seedlings and high quality yield. Our results suggest that the cuttings produce in between beginning of March to early June produce healthy seedlings and give high quality yield production. We produced cutting at different times and used various media for rooting. Maximum rooting percentage was recorded in the cuttings formed on 16th May (93%) while media Pearlite+Vermiculite (1:1, v/v) showed maximum rooting (93%). Total chlorophyll content and net photosynthesis was higher in case of control plants i.e. no shielding than the plants under shielding (30~70%). Shielding also cause delay in flowering time of T. quinquecostatus. Control plants (no shielding) produce maximum fresh weight (1,017kg/10acre) than the plant with shielding. We also observe that the plant length, leaf length, and number of internodes were higher in the plants with inter row spacing 15cm × 15cm. The plants with this spacing also accumulate maximum dry weight (311kg/10acres) than the others.
