Annealing softens steel hardened from cold working by the tandem mill and reversing mill. Many steelmakers using annealing process for machinability of cold steel sheet. In this study, batch type annealing is widely used to produce steel sheets like automobile cold rolled steel sheets and sheets used for the manufacture of automotive parts. We developed a BAF simulator to estimate the effects of BAF conditions on the mechanical properties of SM45C sheet for safety belt buckle . Conditions for the batch annealing process consist of various annealing time and temperature. SM45C sheets require a yield strength (30∼36㎏/㎟), tensile strength (43∼51㎏/㎟) and elongation (32∼37%). The optimum conditions of SM45C sheet for safety belt buckle are 20hr of soaking time and 710℃ of heating temperature at △T 30℃.

The annealing process can improve the physical performance of cold rolling steel sheets and increase the added value of products. Batch annealing, characterized by a long heating cycle and low heating temperatures, is widely used to produce steel sheets like automobile cold rolled steel sheets and sheets used for the manufacture of automobile parts. We developed a BAF simulator to estimate the effects of BAF conditions on the mechanical properties of deep drawing steel sheet. Conditions for the batch annealing process consist of various annealing time and temperature. DDQ CR steel sheets require a yield strength (≤16.5㎏/㎟). tensile strength (28~33㎏/㎟) and elongation (≥46%). These mechanical properties are effected more by changes in the annealing temperature than in the annealing time.

Tensile tests are widely used for evaluating mechanical properties of materials including flow curves as well as Young`s modulus, yield strength, tensile strength, and yield point elongation. This research aims at analyzing the plastic flow behavior of high strength steels for automotive bodies using the finite element method in conjunction with the viscoplastic model considering the yield point elongation phenomenon. The plastic flow behavior of the high strength steel was successfully predicted, by considering an operating deformation mechanism, in terms of normalization dislocation density, and strain hardening and accumulative damage of high strength steel using the modified constitutive model. In addition, the finite element method is employed to track the properties of the high strength steel pertaining to the deformation histories in a skin pass mill process.

We developed BAF simulator to estimate the effects of BAF conditions on the mechanical properties of 35R High Strength steel sheet. The conditions in batch annealing process consist of various annealing time and temperature. 35R CR steel sheet is required as yield strength (20~30㎏/㎟), tensile strength(35~40㎏/㎟) and elongation(≥38%). Mechanical properties are more susceptible of the annealing temperature than of the annealing time.

Annealing is used in the steel industry as an important step for heat-treatment. Its processes may be classified into the following two categories: batch processes- a large, stationary mass of steel is subjected to a long heat-treatment cycle by varying the temperature within the furnace that surrounds it; continuous processes-a single thickness of cold reduced sheet or strip is passed through a furnace in a relatively short time. And batch annealing is widely used to produce steel sheets like automobile cold rolled steel sheets and sheets used for the manufacture of automobile parts. We developed a BAF simulator to estimate the effects of BAF conditions on the mechanical properties of 440㎫ grade HSS sheet. Conditions for the batch annealing process consist of various annealing time and temperature. 440㎫ HSS sheets require a yield strength (25~40㎏/㎟), tensile strength (≥45㎏/㎟) and elongation (≥34%). The optimum conditions of BAF 440㎫ grade HSS sheet are 10hr of soaking time and 760℃ of heating temperature at △T 40℃.

Conditions for the batch annealing process consist of same annealing time and different temperature are 10hr of soaking time and 720℃ and 730℃ of heating temperature at △T 30℃. The result of mechanical properties as BAF annealed are obtained increasing YP, TS and HRB, but it are obtained decreasing El. So, we founded that key point of BAF annealed is carbon content.

In cold rolled steels the strength is increased essentially by precipitation hardening. Nb, Ti and V are most commonly used as the alloying elements to precipitate as carbonitrides and induce grain refinement in steels. In the present investigation, the effects of added Nb, such as improved the mechanical properties after batch furnace annealing. The optimum conditions of BAF 440㎫ grade HSS sheet are 15hr of soaking time and 710℃ of heating temperature at △T 30℃.
