The zebrafish (Danio rerio) is now commonly employed to explore host-pathogen interactions especially as a model for human illnesses, such as bacterial-induced lung infections. The toxicity of E. coli OP50, S. aureus and E. coli- ESBL was investigated in the zebrafish model. The embryos were exposed to a bacterial solution with various cell numbers (1×10<sup>4</sup>, 1×10<sup>5</sup>, 1×10<sup>6</sup>, 1×10<sup>7</sup> and 1×10<sup>8</sup> CFU/ml) at 6, 24, 72 and 96 hpf. The survival rate, hatching rate and heartbeat were determined at the end of the experiment, however, the structural anomalies of the larvae were determined during the experiment with an interval of 12 hours. The E. coli OP50 is a non-pathogenic strain, and as a result no serious abnormalities were observed in the larvae except for the higher concentration, 1×10<sup>7</sup> on which affected the hatching rate and cardiac activity slightly. In the S. aureus and E. coli- ESBL infected groups there were no deformities recorded in 1×104 CFU/ml bacterial treatment; however, in 1×10<sup>5</sup>, 1×10<sup>6</sup>, and 1×10<sup>7</sup> CFU/ml morphological abnormalities, delayed development and lower cardiac activity was observed in larvae post 48 hpf. However, in 1×10<sup>8</sup> CFU/ml treatment of these groups all the embryos were found dead at 48 hpf. The zebrafish model offers significant benefits over mammalian models of infection in terms of scientific, budgetary, and ethical considerations.
고강도 내진 철근을 사용한 철근콘크리트 보의 전단거동에 대한 실험적 연구

최근 지진의 발생 빈도가 잦아지면서 고강도 내진 철근에 대한 관심이 급증하였다. 그러나 현재 콘크리트구조 학회기준(2017)에서는 철근콘크리트 부재의 전단철근의 항복강도를 500MPa로 제한하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 설계기준항복강도 제한을 확장하기 위해 고강도 내진 철근을 사용한 철근콘크리트 보의 실험을 수행하였다. 실험에는 항복강도가 400MPa, 500MPa, 700MPa인 전단철근이 사용되었으며 전단철근의 배근간격을 변수로 하여 철근비에 따른 철근콘크리트 보의 전단거동을 비교하였다. 실험결과 철근량과 철근의 항복강도가 증가할수록 전단강도비가 감소하는 경향이 나타났다.
mmWave Path-loss, Joint Rain and Gas losses Effect Analysis Based on ITU Street Canyons Scenarios

Besides high phase noise, doppler spread, and limited range, path-loss is one of the prominent performance limiting factors at higher millimetre wave (mmWave) frequency bands. This work evaluates the path-loss for different setups at the frequencies 28 and 60 GHz. This study utilizes site-general and site-specific (mmWave propagation) models under street-canyons from ITU-R P.1411-10. Moreover, for mmWave propagation model, additional losses by rain and gasses are calculated by using the procedure given in ITU-R P.530-17 and ITU-R P.676-12, respectively. The results demonstrate that mmWave propagation model leads to higher path-losses as compared with site general model due to additional rain and gas losses. Moreover, higher frequencies and longer separation distances leads to significant path-loss for all the considered scenario. Furthermore, rain losses are observed to be more detrimental as compared with gas losses.
