        어업용 씨앵커 본체 천의 성능에 관한 연구

        In this study, samples of sea anchor canopy cloth mainly used in Korean jigging fishing vessels were collected and tested for performance evaluation. The canopy cloth of sea anchor is a basic element of form composition that is known to have the greatest influence on anchor performance. In order to evaluate the performance of sea anchor canopy cloth, five types of samples were tested for new metric count, tensile strength, water vapour transmission rate and drying speed according to the national standard (KS), and some correlations were identified. As a result of the test, the new metric count of cloths was 335.5-443.4 denier in warp and 217-447.6 denier in weft, and the minimum tensile strength was 860 N in warp direction and 430 N in weft direction. The apparent number and tensile strength of cloth were proportional, the water vapour transmission rate of the sample was 206.8 g/m<sup>2</sup>h, and the drying speed was 90-100 min. This study partially confirmed the performance evaluation based on speculation by the standard test method, and further research is needed on the clear relationship between the research results and the performance of the sea anchor.

        어업실습선의 SPS Code 적용과 항만국통제 현황 분석

        This study identified application range of SPS Code(Special Purpose Ship Code) applied to fishery training ship in Korea, and proposed counterplan for port state control. The latest contents of relevant convention was verified, used APCIS of Tokyo MOU and EQASIS provided by EU to analyze the current condition and deficiencies of port state control of fishery training ship. As the result, the SPS code equal to passenger ship and cargo ship of SOLAS convention should be satisfied with fishery training ship, and must follow ISPS Code. As for the result of record of port state control, it was confirmed that 8 fishery training ships were inspected 76 times and pointed out with 411 deficiencies in Tokyo MOU nation. 75% of deficiencies were related to SOLAS convention, and 71 times of inspections were conducted in Japan. Because it is not free from the fishery training ship, there is a need for active corresponding and preparation by enhancing local cooperative system and sharing the Internet inspection background, and need to develop and implement in-depth internship program to improve port state control counter plan for the trainees.

        한국과 뉴질랜드 어선 해기사 면허제도 비교 분석

        This study aims at comparison and analyzing of marine officer license system for fishing vessels between South Korea and New Zealand. It is urgently required to establish Republic of Korea-New Zealand mutual certification system for marine officers who are on board ships within applicable area given that New Zealand will force foreign fishing vessels within New Zealand area to reflag from 2016 in accordance with the amendment of Fisheries Act. Secondly, to compare and analyze systems between two countries will contribute to the preparatory work related to ratification STCW-F convention as New Zealand already have completed law amendment to adapt the convention. Maritime law of New Zealand, Seafarers Act and Ship Personnel Act of Republic of Korea were compared and analyzed as references. The result showed that an improvement to corresponding level to the international convention and development of safety training by vessel type, and job descriptions according to the license class are needed to Republic of Korea system. Furthermore, it is suggested to prepare specialized training for deckhands as required in STCW-F convention and standard fishing vessel officer training record for designated institute of education. Therefore institutional complementarity and framework is required as it is expected that the nations of fishing in piscary demand to reflag Korean deep-sea fishing vessels or to ratify the STCW-F convention.

        해양사고 저감을 위한 어선원 안전교육 개선방안 연구

        This study analyzed the status of marine accidents, related laws, and fishermen training which are being implemented in Korea, to present the status and improvement plan of fishermen safety training. For comparison, I confirmed the status of fishermen training in England. According to the result of this study, the marine accidents of fishing vessels have doubled in the last five years, despite the governments various policies to reduce marine accidents. In addition, although basic safety education, fishermen safety training, and fishing professional education are conducted, their effectiveness decrease due to the non-expert of educational contents and the lack of their distinction, and education needs improvements. In the UK, the training for fishermen includes not only basic safety education, but also compulsory ancillaries training according to the length of fishing vessels and the area of operation, and provides the opportunities of professional training needed for fishing vessels. The result of this study shows that 90% of marine officers of Korean fishing vessels are not from designated educational institutions. Therefore, it is necessary to characterize the fishermen safety education currently carried out in Korea, and to develop and obligate education so as to provide the opportunities of professional maritime training. In addition, it is necessary to consider the mandatory completion of the agreement-related education in accordance with the entry into force of the STCW-F Convention.

        어선 항해사 훈련기록부 필요성 및 개발 방향

        This study looked at relevant STCW, STCW-F conventions, domestic regulations and status of other countries to present necessity and development direction of training record book for fishing vessel officers in Korea. As a result of the study, it is required by STCW, STCW-F conventions and domestic laws. However, there are no examples of the development and application of training record book for fishing vessel officers. Since Korea completes designated education institution and obtains a license, systematic education completion and verification are essential. It should be to it consideration of the contents of IMO Model Course 7.06, the standard for training of fishing vessel officers, as well as domestic laws and regulations and training conditions. The development of training record book is expected to contribute to the improvement of the value of licenses and the development of industries as well as the strengthening of maritime capacity.

        전문성 향상을 위한 어선항해사 면허시험 개선 방안

        In this study, an improvement plan was derived by statistically analyzing the system and current status of tests in Korea and survey of seafarers perception in order to improve the expertise of the Korean fishing vessel officer examination. Recently, about 70% of marine accident occurs from fishing vessels. Therefore, it's necessary to improve the examination to reduce marine accidents. As a result, it was identified that an average of 29,265 applicants have applied over the past four years, and among them, 1,833 people have applied for fishing vessel licenses, accounting for 6.3% of the total. According to the result of explanation and response of 115 people, they responded that practical utilization was low, each operation waters has different requirements and it’s necessary to improve the contents of the questions for the specialty subject. In addition, inappropriate questions were found in previous exams. To reduce marine accidents caused by human error and to improve the professionalism of fishing vessel officers, it is necessary to adjust the test criteria and ratio with characteristics of fishing vessels and in the long run, institutional improvements such as the distinction between test subjects and licenses are needed.

        다목적 어업실습선 개발과 내항성능 시험 결과

        According to the recent presentation by the Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal, about 70% of marine accident occurs from fishing vessel, and 90% of cause of entire marine accidents attributes to human error. As fishing vessels require basic operations, fishing operations, other additional operations and techniques such as fish handling, cultivating excellent marine officer to prevent marine accident and develop industry is very important. A fisheries training ship is still very difficult to satisfy the demand for diversity of fishery training and sense of realism of the industry. As the result of employment expectation by category of business survey targeting 266 marine industry high school graduates who hope to board fishing vessels for the last four years, tuna purse seine was the highest with 132 cadets (49.6%), followed by offshore large purse seine (65 cadets, 22.4%), and tuna long line (35 cadets, 13.2%). The Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) has replaced old jigging and fish pot fishery training ships and proceeded developing and building multi-purpose fisheries training ships considering the demand of industry and the promotion of employment; however, the basic fishing method was set for a tuna purse seine. As a result of seakeeping model test, it can conduct the satisfiable operation at sea state 5, and survive at sea state 8.

        버섯재배사의 공조시스템 설계에 대한 연구

        온실에서 버섯을 재배할 때 균일한 온도 분포가 되도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 지하 공기를 이용하여 비닐 하우스, 버섯재배사에 일정 온도의 공기를 공급하며 균일하게 유지하게 한다. 버섯재배사 구조는 7단 4열의 다배열 균상들 사이의 공기 흐름을 원활히 하고 위, 아래 균상 간의 환경 차이를 방지한다. 0.5m/s의 속도로 유입되는 공기는 초기 내부온도 간의 차이에 따라 밀도 차에 따른 부력에 의한 효과 역시 무시할 수 없으며, 온실내의 유동 해석을 통해 적정 온도가 균등하게 분포하도록 FCU(Fan Coil Unit)와 Fan의 위치를 정해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유동해석을 통해 FCU와 Fan으로 구성된 샌드위치 단열 패널형의 버섯재배사의 공조시스템을 설계할 수 있었다. 그리고 재배사 내부의 온도 및 유동 해석을 통해 FCU(유입구)와 Fan(출구)의 위치가 서로 다른 Case에서 유입되는 공기의 순환 경로가 길어지면서 비교적 균일한 온도분포를 갖는데 유리함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이러한 환경 개선을 통해 버섯의 생육 및 품질 균일성을 도모할 수 있었다. It is important to ensure a uniform temperature distribution in greenhouses for the mushroom cultivation. The air temperature of the mushroom cultivation greenhouse is made uniform by supplying a constant air temperature with the underground air. The mushroom cultivation array in a greenhouse in seven columns and four rows can make smooth air flows between the rows and prevent air differences between the top and bottom. The buoyancy effect in the entering air of 0.5m/s based on following density difference depending on initial internal temperature needs to be considered. The locations of the Fan Coil Unit (FCU) and fan were defined through flow analysis in a greenhouse to distribute the optimal uniform temperature. In this study, the air conditioning system of a greenhouse with a sandwich heat insulting panel shape which is composed of a FCU and fan was designed by flow analysis. A relatively uniform temperature distribution can be formed because the circulation path of air becomes longer in the different locations of the FCU (inlet) and fan (outlet) through the internal temperature and flow analysis. The cultivation and quality uniformity of the mushrooms could be promoted through these environmental improvements.

        중서부태평양 한국 다랑어 선망어업에서의 어구 구성의 변화

        This paper conducted research on identifying the process of change in fishing gear and organizing the function of periodically-used fishing gear types through net plan and computer simulation by selecting the design of the four types of fishing gear used for the Korea tuna purse seiner in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean, which 1,000 G/T class and whose length over all 60 m class. In the late 1980s, the length of the tuna purse gear was 1,939 m and the design depth was 160 m, but currently, the length and the design depth are 2,515 m and 230 m, respectively. As a result of the simulation, the expansion of the fishing gear increased buoyance, sinking force, sinking depth, surrounded area, and purse wire continuously. Recently, the maximum tension of the currently used purse wire of tuna purse seiner is 23.5 tons and is close to 25.4 tons which is the maximum lift capacity of WS454 winch. The way to improve fishing gear should be proceeded to increase sinking speed rather than expand the size of fishing gear.

      • A computational analysis of the airflow inside the nozzle of the air-texturing process

        Production of synthetic yams has air-texturing, air-covering and air-interlacing processes in textile manufacturing. The important component in the air-texturing process is the air-texturing nozzle. The manufacturing specification requires better air-texturing qualities, higher process speeds and reduced air consumption. This research investigates the airflow inside of air-texturing nozzle to design the optimal shape of the nozzle which increases production speeds, reduces air-consumption and improves yarn quality. The ANSYS CFX was used to perform steady simulations of impinging airflow inside of the nozzle. The vortical structure and the airflow pattern such as pressure, vorticity and velocity are discussed in this paper.
