간호대학생을 위한 다문화간호교육프로그램이 다문화 태도, 다문화 역량 및 다문화간호 자신감에 미치는 효과

본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 다문화교육프로그램을 적용하여 간호대학생의 다문화 태도, 다문화 역량 및 다문화간호 자신감에 미치는 효과를 분석하기 위한 비동등성 대조군 전·후 설계연구이다. 연구대상자는 2개 간호학과의 2학년 학생으로 총 165명이며 프로그램 진행 중 1.2%가 탈락하여 최종 연구대상자는 실험군 84명, 대조군 79명이다. 자료수집은 2016년 3월부터 6월까지 이루어졌다. 연구분석은 실험군과 대조군의 동질성 검정을 위해 χ2-test, Fisher’s exact test 및 independent t-test로 검정하였고, 실험처치의 효과는 t-test를 이용하여 가설을 검정하였다. 연구에서 사용된 다문화교육프로그램은 Campinha-Bacote의 문화역량 모델을 기반으로 14주 프로그램으로 구성하였으며, 다문화 현장 경험, 토론, 성찰적 글쓰기 등을 포함하였다. 다문화교육프로그램 적용 후 실험군은 대조군에 비해 다문화 태도와 문화적 역량 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 높아졌으나 다문화간호 자신감에는 영향을 미치지 못했다. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of the multicultural nursing education program among nursing students. The study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 163 college students of 2 nursing school were enrolled in this study. A pre-post comparison within the group was performed using a paired t-test and the comparison between groups was performed using a independent t-test. The multicultural education program used in this study is 14-week program based on the Campinha-Bacote s model. The program also included multicultural field experiences, discussions, and reflective writing. The results showed that there were significant differences in the multicultural attitude and cultural competency between the two groups. However, there was no diffenrence in cultural nursing confidence between the two groups.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the current status of contraception use and analyze factors affecting contraception use among Korean adolescents. Methods: This cross sectional study used secondary data from the 2013 Adolescent Health Behavior Online Survey (KYRBS), which included a nationally representative sample of middle and high school students. A total of 3,475 adolescents who had experienced sexual intercourse were included in the study. Results: Almost 4.8% of total adolescents experienced sexual intercourse. Only 26.8% of them had sex with contraception. The significant predictors related to contraception use were as follows: sexual intercourse experience after drinking (OR=2.02) and living with mother (OR=3.00) for male middle school student, first intercourse experience (OR=2.04) for female middle school students, and first intercourse experience (OR=1.59) and intercourse experience after drinking (OR=0.56) for male high school students. On the other hand, there were no predictors for female high school students. Conclusions: Development and application of effective strategies according to gender and school level are needed to increase contraception rate of adolescents.

Background: The purpose of this study was to identify and compare perception of importance and satisfaction regarding communication needs among patients and nurses in emergency centers. Methods: This study used a cross sectional design and included 64 of patients and 37 of nurses in emergency centers of university hospitals located in Daejeon. Data were collected with a self-administered questionnaire between April 2017 and June in 2017. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics. Results: Regarding importance of communication needs, both groups of the patients and the nurses significantly recognized the importance of providing information such as performed tests and treatments and visiting time of charged physicians. Meanwhile, emotional supports and concern about social or cultural needs was recognized as less important communication needs among the patients and nurses. Regarding satisfaction of communication needs, patients were less satisfied with the needs they regarded as the most important and nurses showed moderate levels of satisfaction. This indicates that patients and nurses differ in the standards and expectations for communication performance. Conclusion: It is important that emergency room nurses should recognize the current situation in which the patients’ desired communication needs are not being met and they should start to focus improvement effort and new directions of emergency room care systems to meet the communication needs.
