피조개, Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck) 정자의 동결보존 위해 동결높이에 따른 예비동결 (0, 2, 4, 6 ㎝), 희석제 (150 mM NaCl, 300 mM glucose, Ringer’s solution)와 동해방지제(glycerol, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO),dimethylacetamide (DMA), methaol) 에 따른 효과를 정자의 운동성과 생존율로 비교하였다. 피조개 정자 동결보존에있어 예비동결은 액체질소표면으로부터 2 ㎝가 가장 효과적이었으며, 희석제로는 Ringer's solution이 동해방지제로는DMSO 10% 농도가 가장 적합하였다 This study was conducted to investigate protocol standardization for spermatozoa cryopreservation of the Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck). Among the freezing rates, freezing at a height of 2 ㎝ above liquid nitrogen surface for 5 minute gave higher activity and survival rate. Among the various diluents, Ringer's solution was the best for S. broughtonii sperm cryopreservation. The suitability of cryoprotectants dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), dimethylacetamide (DMA), glycerol and methanol were tested against three freezing rates. DMSO gave significantly higher activity and survival rates than others.

The effects of diluents composition on cold storage for Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck) sperm were examined in the percentage of sperm activity and survival rate. Various diluents of glucose solutions (10 mM Hepes-pH 7.8), 600 mM NaCl, stein solution, Ringer’s solution(230mM NaCl, 8 mM KCl, 2 mM CaCl2, 3.7 mM MgCl2, 0.2 mM NaHCO3, 10 mM Hepes-pH 7.8), 20%, 25% ASW (NaCl 2.7 g + KCl 0.07 g + CaCl2 0.12 g + MgCl2 0.46 g + NaHCO3 0.05 g + distilled water 100 ml) were used to store th sperm at 4℃. The storage effect was evaluated using sperm activity and survival rate. Ringer's solution was found to be better diluents which maintained high activity and survival rate of sperm for a storage period of 7 days. Optimal pH of diluents to store the sperm at 4℃ is 7.5. 피조개, Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck) 정자의 냉장보존을 위해 희석액에 따른 보존효과를 비교하였다. 피조개 정액을 채취하여 600 mM NaCl, Stein solution, 300 mM,600 mM glucose (10 mM Hepes-pH 7.8), Ringer’s solution (230 mM NaCl, 8 mM KCl, 2 mM CaCl2, 3.7mM MgCl2, 0.2 mM NaHCO3, 10 mM Hepes-pH 7.8),20%, 25% ASW (NaCl 2.7 g + KCl 0.07 g + CaCl20.12 g + MgCl2 0.46 g + NaHCO3 0.05 g + distilled water 100 ml) 를 각각 사용하여 4℃에서 보관하였다. 피조개 정자의 보존효과는 정자의 운동성과 생존율로 평가였다. 피조개 정자는 Ringer's solution에서 7일간 냉장보전하였을 때운동성과 생존율을 가장 높았으며, 희석액의 적정 pH는 7.5이었다.

남해안 왕우럭조개, Tresus keenae (Bivalvia: Mactridae) 의 연령과 성장

Growth and age of the Surf clam, Tresus keenae (Bivalvia: Mactridae) were collected from Yeosu coast in Korea. Relative growth equations among SL, SH, SW and TW of Tresus keenae were ranged from 0.8188 to 0.9468. The ring radius were estimated from a von Bertalanffy method with the values of SL1.54 = 44.72 mm, SL2.54 = 70.97 mm, SL3.54 = 91.57 mm, SL4.54 = 107.09 mm, SL5.54 = 122.86 mm. Back calculated total weight at the formation of annual ring on the shell of Tresus keenae with the values TW1.54 = 310.99 g, TW2.54 = 467.72 g, TW3.54 = 595.14 g, TW4.54 = 690.65 g, TW5.54 = 786.58 g. The community structure of macrobenthos was investigated around Myodo Island in Gwangyang-Bay. Macrobenthic animals were collected by using a van Veen grab (0.1m²) from January to August, 2009. The macrobenthic faunal community has 40 species and 151.03inds/m². The dominant species were Ruditapes philippinarum, Didimarca tenebricum, and Mytilas edulis. The diversity index ranged 0-3.539, evenness index was 0.193-1, and richness index was 0-2.474. The highest benthic pollution index was observed at station 7 and 8. All macro-benthic faunas were assigned into a specific functional group according to their ecological responses against the environmental stress.

Ploychaetes were the most important component of the macrofaunal community in species richness and abundance. The dominant species in abundance were a polychaete(Scoloplos ann쟁에13.8%)) and a mussel(Ruditapes philippinarum( 11.80%)). Cluster analysis showed that the benthic community could be classified into three station groups A, B and C. Group A, located from the Aphae Island to Bok-gil pier and has dominant species including bivalves(Ruditφ'es philippiηarum and Musculistα senhαlsiα, ~, polychaetes( Glycera chirori and Nephψ'S caeCi찌. Group C, located at the Topmeori Beach to near Hyo밍 Island, has dominant species including one echinoderm(Protandyra b빼ltata), four polychaetes( Scoloplos αηniger, Nephψ'S ciliata, Lφidonotus helotypus and Lumbrineris heteropot찌. Group B, between Aphae Island and Hyogi Island, has dominant species including a bivalve Musculista senhousia predominated.
