Asari Herba Cum Radice is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Asari Herba Cum Radice for expelling wind and clearing away cold(祛風散寒), alleviating pain(止痛), warming the lung to reduce watery phlegm(溫肺化飮), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Asari Herba Cum Radice. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are essential oil, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Asari Herba Cum Radice mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on nervous system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, urinary system, and respiratory system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Phaseoli Radiati Semen(綠豆), Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), drugs for clearing away heat and eliminating toxin(淸熱解毒藥), etc. And the Korean medical doctors should treat with acupucture and meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 3. The representative methods in poisoning treatments in the western medicine are promoting vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, supplies of grape sugar and taking an antidote for poison from Asari Herba Cum Radice, etc. And the medical doctors should meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Asari Herba Cum Radice, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

Oriental medical doctors use Rhapontici Radix for clearing away heat and eliminating toxin(淸熱解毒), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Rhapontici Radix. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main ingredients of poisoning from Echinops Latifolii Radix(禹州漏蘆) are echinopsine, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Rhapontici Radix mainly cause stimulating symptoms on central nervous system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment are symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. In order to prevent against poisoning of Rhapontici Radix, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

전갈(全蝎)의 독성(毒性)에 관한 문헌적 고찰

Scorpio is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Scorpio for relieving convulsion and spasm(熄風止痙), removing obstruction in the channels to relieve pain(通絡止痛), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Scorpio. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The main poisoning ingredients of Scorpio are buthotoxin, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Scorpio mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, nervous system, circulatory system, respiratory system, integumentary system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the western medicine are washing out the stomach, enema, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean medicine take advantage of herbs, such as Lobeliae Chinensis Herba(半邊蓮) and Realgar(雄黃), etc. And the Korean medical doctors should treat with acupucture and meet symptoms as patients call for attention. 4. In order to prevent against poisoning of Scorpio, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.

The results were summarized as follows : 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are geraniol, skimmianine, citronellol, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Zanthoxyli Fructus mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, respiratory system, and nervous system, etc. 2. 독도의 식물 한약자원에 관한 본초학적 연구

Objective:For the purpose of investigating the herbal resources of Dokdo island, this study was designed. Method:For the first time, we searched the native plants of Dokdo island from research data. And we examined herbological books on the plants of Dokdo island. Result:The native herbaceous plants in Dokdo island were 27 family and 73 species, and the medicinal plants were 49 species among them. The woody plants in Dokdo island were 12 family and 13 species, and the medicinal plants were 10 species among them. The main medicinal parts of medicinal plants were the whole body of herbs, roots, and seeds in order. The herbal medicines with cold or cool nature were 45 species, they took the top nature of the herbal medicines. According to the properties and principal action of native herbal medicines in Dokdo island, the major parts were classified into drugs for clearing away heat, eliminating toxin, activating blood flow and removing blood stasis, urination, removing heat from the blood and stopping of bleeding. The number of native herbal medicines with small toxicity in Dokdo island were 7 species. Conclusion:For the purpose of preserving the native plants of Dokdo island, we should recognize not only medical benefits but also matters that demand special attention.

선모(仙茅) 열수(熱水) 추출물(抽出物)의 항혈전(抗血栓) 효능 연구

Objectives: An aim of study is to investigate effects of curculiginis rhizoma in vitro (factor Xa (FXa) inhibitor assay, prothrombinase assay, prothrombin time (PT) assay, activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) assay) and in vivo experiment (blood clotting time, thromboxane B2 content assay in serum and weight of thrombus by AV-shunt rat model). Methods: We gained a human serum and used serum in vitro study such as factor X activity (FXa) inhibition, prothrombinase inhibition, prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time. Fifteen SD rats were divided into three groups (intact control group and two experimental group treated with extract of Curculiginis Rhizoma(ECR)). Rats were orally administrated DW (intact control group), 600 mg/kg concertration of ECR and 200 mg/kg concertration of ECR. After one hour, we anesthetized rats and made arteriovenous (AV) shunt rat models to study weights of thrombus, took a hole blood to study content of thromboxane B2 and blood clotting time. Results: In vitro, ECR increased a inhibitory activity of FXa, prothrombinase and aPTT compared than intact control group. Especially ECR made significant increase of FXa and prothrombinase inhibitory activity (p<0.05, p<0.01). And PT were increased in ECR control group compared with intact control group. In vivo, a blood clotting time of experiment group treated with ECR 600 mg/kg were significantly increased compared with that of intact control group (p<0.05) and content of thromboxane B2 was significantly decreased in group treated with ECR 600 mg/kg in seum. The weight of thrombus were significantly reduced in group treated with ECR 600 mg/kg compared with intact control group (p<0.05). But in vivo experiment study, those of group treated with ECR 200 mg/kg were reduced compared with those of intact control group without statistical significance. Conclusions: ECR has a antithromboic activity in internal course with inhibitory activity of FXa and prothrombinase in vitro, it required to research more study for effective compounds.
