        종교사 연구의 최근 경향 - 음식 연구사를 중심으로 -

        이 논문은 종교사 연구의 최근 경향을 글로벌 히스토리 연구의 한 방법인 음식 연구사를 중심으로 살펴본다. 종교와 음식의 상관관계에 대한 연구는 지금까지 주로 정체성과 공동체 문제, 젠더, 규율, 자선과 행동양식, 종교적 순수성, 그리고 비교사 측면 등을 중심으로 식습관, 금기 관련 전례와 종교 서적을 근거로 전개되고 있다. 음식은 내부인과 외부인을 규정짓는 하나의 틀에 불과할 수도 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 종교 연구자들과 종교적 표명의 하나인 음식의 중요성을 인정하는 다른 분야의 학자들은 음식의 규칙, 제의 매뉴얼뿐만 아니라, 레시피 관련 도서들을 읽어야만 한다. 아마도 요리법은 우리가 종교라고 부르는 보다 더 복잡한 것들에 대해 더 많이 이야기해 줄 수 있는, 그리고 그것이 어떻게 요리되어 왔고 앞으로 어떻게 음식을 제공할 것인가를 우리에게 많은 것을 전해 줄 수 있는 ‘의례’ 매뉴얼일지도 모르기 때문이다. 음식의 역사를 세밀히 추적하면 종교와 종교사 연구에 좀 더 상세하게 접근할 수 있는 하나의 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. This theses aimed to review the recent trends in the study of religious history. I have looked at the history of food history mainly. I have concludes as followings. Food is eating and drinking not only individual person, but also the culture of a nation. Also, food is an element that helps we can understand and define our identity in many aspects, such as culture, ethnicity, and nationality. In addition, food is an important source that made up the world at that time, reflecting many things of the time. Recently People found a clue that religion could be understand through food researches. I have reviewed the trends of religious history focusing on the historiography of food history. Research on the relationship between religion and food has been mainly conducted on the basis of dietary habits, taboo-related precedents and religious books, focusing mainly on identity and community issues, gender, discipline, charity and behavior, religious purity, and comparative history. Religious researchers and scholars from other disciplines who acknowledge the importance of food as one of the religious manifestations should read the rules of food, manuals of rituals, as well as books on recipes. Perhaps the recipe is a ‘ritual’ manual that can tell us more about the complex things we call religion. It is believed that detailed tracking of the history of food can provide an opportunity to approach the study of religion and religious history in more detail.

        영국 19세기 아일랜드 이민자의 이질성 문제

        This theses aimed to review irish immigrants' heterogeneity problems in 19th century Britain. Irish immigrants in the 19th century have been recognized as heterogeneous communities due to poverty, occupation, and religious conflict in the process of settling after moving to Britain. As a result of the examination, there were very diverse groups of Irish immigrants to the UK, and the evaluation of them as one poor group stemmed from a prejudice. Proposing the Irish as the main culprit of crime, urban problems, and environmental destruction was also a false view, stemming from false public opinions of 19th century British. When it comes to the settlement, job and workforce of Irish immigrants, it reminds me more about the identity of Irish immigrants than the heterogeneity. As a result of review, the spectrum of occupations and patterns of Irish immigrants is so diverse that it is difficult to draw a uniform conclusion. Irish immigrants lived in many fields without major conflict with the British. Regarding the workforce, Irish immigrants did not play a major role in industrialization in the UK, except for certain occupations and in some areas. Regarding the issue of religion, the problem of immigrants’ settlement and adaptation in Britain was more real than that of the formation of heterogeneous religious groups and religious conflict. There are differences in how to attend Mass and worship services in Ireland and England, and these differences have created problems between native and Irish immigrants. Catholicism was not a factor that distinguished immigrants from British or expelled immigrants. Rather, both Catholics and Protestants were able to see all over the place the act of reconciling and controlling each other in a tolerant manner. This was an opportunity to lay a new foundation for mutual development throughout the 19th century.
