New Competitive Priority Rating Method of Customer Requirements for Customer-Oriented Product Design

Quality function deployment (QFD) has gained extensive international support as one of the powerful techniques to achieve higher customer satisfaction. In the QFD, correctly rating the final importance of customer requirements (CRs) is a crucial and essential process since it largely affects the target value setting of design requirements (DRs). The final importance ratings of CRs are generally determined by combining relative importance ratings (RIRs) and competitive priority ratings (CPRs). This paper proposes a new method to obtain the CPRs of CRs during the QFD process. The proposed CPR method constructs the customer satisfaction model based on the competitive benchmarking analysis and then evaluates the performance quality of company product using the author’s satisfaction and uncertainty measure. Furthermore, the CPR method is integrated with the Kano’s model to capture the different impacts of CRs on customer satisfaction. Finally, the proposed CPR method is illustrated with a numerical example of car door design problem.

In the highly competitive marketplace, customer satisfaction is one of the critical success factors to many leading companies. Quality function deployment (QFD) has been regarded as a powerful customer-oriented design tool for developing new or improved products to achieve higher customer satisfaction by integrating various functions of an organization. In the QFD process, correctly rating the importance of customer requirements (CRs) is a crucial and essential step since it largely affects the target value setting of design requirements (DRs). This paper proposes a novel approach to prioritize CRs from the viewpoint of company’s competitiveness (i.e., competitive priority ratings). The key characteristic of proposed approach is to model the customer’s preference structure as the form of customer satisfaction function by combining the competitive benchmarking analysis with Kano’s analysis. Finally, the proposed approach is illustrated with a numerical example of car door design problem.

This study was conducted to investigate the influence of chilling temperature and duration at different seeding stages on yield, fruit characteristics and growth of cucumber in a greenhouse. When 20-day-old cucumber were exposed to 0 and 3℃ for 10 hours, 25 and 30% reduction in the main stem elongation rate and 34 and 37% reduction in total leaf area per plant were observed. The reduction in stem elongation and total leaf area was apparently associated with the increases in chilling duration. Exposure of seedlings to 6℃ failed to causes any significant differences in growth as compared to the unchilled plants. Repeated exposure of seedlings to 3℃ chilling for 10 hours per day increased the chilling injury significantly. The seedlings exposed to low temperature for 3 consecutive days exhibited severe injury as compared to the seedlings exposed to chilling treatment only once or twice. Fruit elongation rate was inhibited by approximately 10%, such as 0.59~2.26cm/day, with chilling of 15 hours at 0℃ as compare to 0.61~2.60cm/day in the non-chilled plants. Chilling treatment at 0~3℃ for 10 hours reduced the percentage of marketable fruits by 25~26%. while it increased the percentage of severely bent fruits significantly. Total fruits yield was reduced by 15~25% in cucumber plants when the chilling treatment was given to 20-day-old seedlings and by 22~37% in 30-day-old seedlings. This shows that, Larger seedlings were more sensitive to chilling. Total yield was also influenced by the duration of chilling. Definitely, at 0℃, 5-hour chilling treatment caused 18% of reduction, 10-hour caused 30%, and 15-hour caused 36%, respectively.

The inhibitory effects of lipid accumulation onethanol extract from stem bark of Japanese horse chestnut(JHC) were evaluated. Exposure to JHC extract (10-100μg/mL) for a 72 h incubation period did not alter cellviability compared to the untreated control. JHC extract,with concentrations of 25, 50, and 100 μg/mL, inhibitedlipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes in a dosedependent manner. The expression of PPARγ and C/EBPα,important adpogenic key markers was significantly reducedwhen JHC extract was added to cells for 8 days comparedwith the untreated control group. These results suggest thatJHC extract might be a potential therapeutic agent as anatural anti-obesity material.
국가기록원 기록정보센터의 열람서비스 제공 절차 및 특징에 관한 질적 연구

Archival reference service is the ultimate goal and outcome of records management. It encompasses a whole range of activities to connect records with the demands for them. Intellectual needs for records are met by the procedure of information disclosure to guarantee the people’s right to know and to provide active responses to archival information needs. Thus, it is required to establish an efficient search system by unifying search tools for archives used in information disclosure and sorting out the classification systems and description items according to the archive types. The qualitative enhancement of information disclosure can be expected when there is a harmonious circulation of attributes—such as applicants, records, search tools, and information providers—for the smooth implementation of reading processes in the context of archival reference service. Therefore, the present study holds its significance in the following aspects. First, it presented a picture of pending issues and the reality of reading service processes from an internal perspective by examining the factors and characteristics that influence “reading service.”Second, it demonstrated the phenomenon of close interactions among information providers, applicant, search tools, and records in the process of requesting, searching, and providing records. Third, it proposed the need for a total integrated search tool around the pending issues of reading processes at the National Archives of Korea. Fourth, it promoted an understanding of archival information utilization at the working level among information providers. Finally, it showed major differences in the quality of information provision of “reading service” according to the “perceptions” and “attitudes” of information providers. 기록정보 서비스는 기록관리의 궁극적인 목적이자 결과이며, 기록의 수요와 기록물을 연결시키는 일련의 활동들을 의미한다. 기록물의지적요구를 정보공개 절차를 통해 제공하는 것은 국민의 알 권리 보장과 기록정보 수요에 능동적으로 대응하기 위함이다. 이를 위해서 열람프로세스의 원활한 수행을 위해 청구인 ․ 기록물 ․ 검색도구 및 열람제공자라는 속성들의 조화로운 순환이 선행되어야 정보공개의 질적 향상을 기대할 수 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 첫째,‘열람서비스’에 영향을미치는 요인과 특징에 관한 현상을 밝힘으로써 열람서비스 프로세스의 현안과 실제를 내부적 관점에서 제시하고 둘째, 기록물 청구 및 검색과 제공의 과정에서 열람제공자-청구인-검색도구-기록물 간의긴밀한 상호작용에 관한 현상을 보여주며 셋째, 국가기록원 열람 프로세스 현안을 중심으로 총체적인 통합 검색도구에 관한 필요성을 제안하며 넷째, 열람제공자에게 실무적 측면에서의 기록정보 활용에 대한이해를 제공하고 다섯째, 열람제공자의 인식과 태도에 따라 정보제공품질에 주요한 차이를 보인다는 것을 시사하는 데 있다.
박테리아필터링을 위한 에어-젯 스프레이기반 PCL 나노멤브레인

Airborne and dust borne microorganism including bacteria causes infection, such as respiratory disease, skin disease, and etc. Antibacterial filters have been attracted because they can prevent infectious diseases. Previous reported methods for fabricating antibacterial filters, such as liquid dip coating, aerosol-based process, and electrospinning, have been developed. However, these methods still require complex process, and special facilities. In this study, we proposed a nanomembrane which can filter bacteria based on biodegradable polycaprolactone(PCL) via air-jet spray. To evaluate efficiency of bacterial filtering, a suspension of E. coli (Escherichia coli) was permeated through the nanomembrane for 10 minutes. As a result, it was confirmed that the nanomembrane could filter 99% of E.coli. In addition, the nanomembrane via air-jet spray would be manufactured as a large-area, low-cost, and free-form in a single process.
