대학생의 진로선택유형에 따른 진로정체감, 진로미결정 및 대학생활적응에 관한 연구

본 연구는 Super(1988)의 진로발달이론의 주요 개념인 직업적 자기정체감을 토대로 Gianakos(1999)가 구분한 진로선택유형에 따른 진로정체감과 진로미결정요인에 대한 차이를 알아보았으며 나아가 진로선택유형에 따른 대학생활적응의 차이를 알아봄으로써 직업적 자기정체감의 일관성의 유형과 그 특성을 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구의 조사 대상자는 호남지역 소재의 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 481명(남학생: 226명, 여학생: 255명)이었다. Super(1988)의 진로발달이론에 기초하여 진로선택유형을 안정적(25.8%), 중다선택(9.4%), 관습적(32.4%), 그리고 불안정적 유형(32.4%)으로 구분하여, 진로선택 유형에 따른 진로정체감, 진로미결정요인, 그리고 대학생활적응의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 전반적으로 안정적 진로선택유형과 관습적 진로선택유형이 중다선택 진로선택유형과 불안정적 진로선택유형과 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 본 연구 결과는 Gianakos(1999)의 진로선택유형의 구분을 일관되게 한국 대학생에게 적용하기에는 한계가 있음을 확인하였으며 이는 한국대학생들의 경우 관습적 진로선택 유형은 안정적 진로선택유형과 비슷한 성향으로 분류되고 중다선택 유형은 불안정적 진로선택유형과 비슷한 성향으로 분류될 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 대학생 진로상담의 실제에 활용 가능한 기초자료를 마련하였으며 대학 진학을 전후한 전공 선택과 관련된 진로선택의 중요성과 이에 대한 상담 개입의 필요성을 제기하였다. This study examined the differences between four types of career choice in career identity, career indecision and adaptation to the college life. The subjects of this study were the 481 college students. 481 undergraduates were classified into the four types of career choice(the stable(25.8%), the multiple choice(9.4%), the conventional(32.4%), and the unstable(32.4%)). Results indicated that the stable type and the conventional type represented higher score in career identity and student adaptation than the multiple type and the unstable type. In career indecision, the unstable type showed higher score than the stable type and the conventional type. In perspective of life career development, all processes related to career are not the matter to be able to decide at one moment, but it exists as a process. Particularly, college is important time for students to select and to decide the career. Although a career is already fixed, intervention counseling need to be provided effectively for college students by considering the types of career choice and sub-factors of career indecision. In addition, it is important to implement the systematic career guidance and counseling in order to allow them to perform much stable career activities.
