Generally block imbedded type oil pump is adopted to make a small engine. In this paper 1D/3D numerical simulations were conducted to reduce energy consumption of the block imbedded type oil pump. At each stage of engine development wehave estimated the oil flow rate and pressure to optimize oil pump sizes by using the 1D system analysis and then accomplished 3D CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to optimize oil pump shapes including inlet/outlet port. As a result, the energy consumption of oil pump has been reduced to nearly 27% and the engine fuel consumption to 1~1.5%.

Shiga toxin (stx) producing Escherichia coli (STEC) causes various clinical signs in animal and human. In this study, 255 fecal samples from calves showing diarrhea were collected from cattle farms in Chonnam province during the period from January 2005 to July 2005. Twenty six STEC (10%) were isolated from 255 fecal samples by PCR. The isolates displayed three different stx combinations (stx1 [69%], stx1 and stx2 [15%], and stx2 [38%]). The isolates were further studied for virulence associated genes and antimicrobial resistance to define the virulence properties. Intimin (eaeA), enterohemolysin (hlyA), and lipopolysaccharide (rfbE) virulence genes were detected in 6 (23%), 7 (26%), and 1 (3.8%) of the isolates, respectively, by PCR. One isolate possessing rfbE gene was typed as E. coli 0157 : H7 by agglutination test with O and H antisera. All 26 isolates showed susceptibility to amikacin (100%) and the majority of isolates showed high susceptibility to gentamicin (88.5%) and chloramphenicol (73.1%). But all isolates were resistant to penicillin. These results may provide the basic knowledge to establish strategies for the treatment and prevention of enteric disease in calves.

This paper deals with energy-saving effort in the hydraulic power steering system. Commonly, the hydraulic power steering systems are used for passenger cars and the reduction of pumping loss under non-steering condition is important to improve fuel economy. Experiments and simulations are performed simultaneously to examine the main factors to reduce the pumping loss - pressure loss and flow rate of the power steering systems. Fuel economy effect of the optimal design of power steering system is verified by vehicle test - more than 1% fuel consuming reduction is attained.

The puropse of this study is to give a general view of the influence on Wilde's plays from European and English playwrights, to look over the changes of the play's composition and to analyse its structure. Wilde borrowed frequently from other playwrights, if not directly, at least in principle. He admitted it readily in private conversation and saw nothing wrong with practice. The "scene among men" in Act Ⅲ of "Lady Windermere's Fan", for example, recalls the famous "screen scene" in Act Ⅳ of Sheridan's "School for Scandal". This play is the first successful, one of Wilde's four comdies, but there are many changes between the unpublished opening-night version and the altered version. The main changes had been strongly urged by George Alexander, and lines were added hinting at Mrs.Erlynne's identity at the end of Act I and explicitly revealing it in Act Ⅱ. Those lines proved to be good. It has been argued, thus far, that "Lady Windermere's Fan" displays unity of action and character. There is a factor which provides the strongest unifying force of all, as well as giving the play its unique quality. This is the ironic viewpoint from which Wilde looked at the action and from which he intended it to be seen by his audience. The intention is manifested throughout the play. It is apparent in the sub-title : "A play About a Good Woman." The irony lies in the contrast between Mrs.Erlynne, whom society recognizes as a bad woman, and Lady Windermere, the conventionally good woman. In this work, it is Lady Windermere upon whom Wilde focuses our attentions, and this play is centered Lady Windermere's learning process. But the moral general truth that good and evil are not easily determined by simple rules, that they do not often exist in pure form, so to speak: hence one must measure the evidence carefully and must avoid hasty conclusions. Wilde's play is unusual in that he deals with a social problem in the witty style generally associated with the comedy of manners rather than in the solemn manner that one often finds in a problem play.

On the mineralogical and chemical composition Seoul granite is classified into monzogranite-magnetite series, and Nonsan granitic rocks into granodiorite-magnetite series. They increase in alkali and silica with simultaneous decrease in total iron along the calc -alkaline differentiation trend, however Seoul granite is more differentiated in the trend than the Nonsan granitic rocks. The difference between K-Ar ages (∼157Ma, ∼162Ma) and Rb-Sr ages (∼160Ma, ∼165Ma) of the Seoul granite is only about 3∼8Ma. This may indicatet that the Seoul granite intruded in Jurassic age and might have had a short cooling age. On the other hand the difference between K-Ar ages (∼123Ma, ∼137Ma) and Rb-Sr ages (∼167Ma) of the Nonsan granitic rocks in 30.43Ma, which may indicate a long cooling age for the Jurassic Nonsan granitic rocks.

The configuration for a new fiber Fabry-Perot(FFP) interference filter is analyzed to correct the previous analysis. In the previous analysis the calculations were based on the convolution of the transfer function with optical beam, but it is replaced by the multiplication of the two. With the Gaussian beam approximation of the guiding mode in the step-index single mode fiber and a 15㎛-long planar-concave fiber cavity as in the previous analysis, it was confirmed that the coupling loss could be maintained below 0.5% even with mirror tilt, lateral offset and curvature radius of less than 0.4 degrees, 35㎛ and 20㎛ respectively.

In the construction of Wilde's social plays he certainly borrowed freely the devices and techniques of the most popular well-made play, and imitated the techniques of Scribe, Augier, Dumas fils and Sheridan. That is, Wilde bulids into this play expository first acts, battles of wits between two formidable contestants, withheld secret, unexpected reversals in the fortunes of the protagonists, recognition scenes, and unmaskings of fraudulent or hypocritical characters, and strong curtains. The dandy in Wilde's social plays functions on two levels : within the plot, the dandy acts the raisonneur. For him to make a frivolous dandy into a raisonneur is a daring touch of originality. Outside the plot, however, the dandy exists independently as spokesman for his own way of life. Thus he criticized burgeois materialism fulled with Victorian hypocrisy through the dandy whom he had originally made in this play and satires the conventional Puritan moralism. In An Ideal Husband he used the contrapuntal technique to convey Puritan moralism. In An Ideal Husband that both the 'serious' and the 'trivial' characters should make moral compromises each other because nobody is incapable of doing not only a foolish thing but also a wrong thing. And this play shows a moral idea that it is unwise for a woman to judge her husband or try to control his destiny.
