Heavy duty diesel vehicles are the worst polluters of our environment, although it make up only few percent of all vehicles on the road, because it emit a lot of emission, especially particulate matter (PM). <br/> Pollution-control measures of old model year's vehicles are more urgent, because it were regulated by lower emissions standards and engine performances were deteriorated. Therefore, we have studied the retrofit technology of 2.5ton superannuated diesel truk to CNG truk and the optimization technology of engine performances for a low emission. Test results showed that the torque and the power with CNG were almost same as those of pure diesel oil. Also, NOx and CO after catalytic converter was very low. But the THC after catalytic converter was decreased a little compared to before catalytic converter.

Natural gas has superior characteristics that are low fuel efficiency, low CO₂, low pollution and stabilization. And it is possible to apply to existing diesel engine with some mechanical modification. Diesel pilot compression ignition CNG engine has advantage of power and efficiency as same as diesel engine without high cost of remodeling and it can use advantage of high compression ratio of diesel engine and has low Smoke and NOx. In the present study, an existing diesel engine was remodeled into single cylinder Diesel pilot CNG engine has two fuel suppling system, one is diesel pilot injection in cylinder using existing Electronic Unit Injector(EUI), the other is the way that injected CNG into a intake manifold using instituted supply apparatus. The test results showed that diesel pilot injection timing was decided 13°BTCD and diesel pilot injection fuel flow was decided 0.19 L/h. At that condition, Smoke and CO were reduced and NOx was slightly increased than using diesel fuel.

LPG(propane) fuel has environmental advantages of emitting almost no fine particles and relatively lower CO2 compared to diesel and gasoline fuels. A 50 kW class engine was developed by applying gas injection MPI technology that can increase volumetric efficiency compared to the conventional mixer-type fuel supply. Using the results of CFD study of intake manifold, 3D printed intake manifold tested experimentally and fabricated using rapid protyping casting. The performance and exhaust gas tests were performed by the NRTC cycle. This study conclude that the target output performance and exhaust gas standards were satisfactorily satisfied.

Hydrogen fueled linear power/generation system is higher efficiency then the crank engine. This system will applied possible the undersized Co-generation and hybrid car etc. In this paper, we performed a com Hydrogen fueled linear power/generation system is higher efficiency then the crank engine. Combustion test by adjusting load of hydrogen combustion linear power/generation system, based on test results we identified the characteristics of the system. As the results, frequency has close interrelation with mover's weight, operating frequency approximates in ideal frequency, confirmed that efficiency rises in hydrogen combustion linear power/generation system.
