Pt/MoO3 was made using MoO3 impregnated with PtCl6 precursor and calcined at 300oC. Effect of desorption temperature from 200oC to 800oC was studied over reduced Pt/MoO3 catalyst at 50oC. Amount of desorped hydrogen was found to be proportional to the desorption temperature. Two different pathways of hydrogen desorption were proposed from experimental result. The first route at low temperture was backward hydrogen spillover from Pt surface using reverse spillover hydrogen from HxMoO3. The second route at high temperature was direct hydrogen desorption from HxMoO3 to gas phase.

Effect of H₂ spillover rate as functon of reduction temperature on reaction kinetics was evaluated. Reaction kinetics including yield, conversion, activation energy and selectivity of 1-butene isomerization over Pt/MoOx/SiO₂ were measured as reaction temperature was increased. While conversion of 1-butene was decreased, yield of isobutene was increased. Two kinds of reaction mechanism would be proposed from the change of selectivity as function of reduction temperature.
