초등학교 고학년 아동이 지각한 어머니의 심리적 통제와 학교 적응과의 관계 : 아동의 정서조절능력의 매개효과

본 연구는 어머니의 심리적 통제와 아동의 학교 적응과의 관계를 알아보고, 아동의 정서조절능력이 매개 역할을 하는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 인천시 소재 초등 5, 6학년 506명이었으며 아동이 지각한 어머니의 심리적 통제, 아동의 정서조절능력 및 학교 적응에 대하여 설문지를 통하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 심리적 통제는 아동의 학교 적응에 유의하게 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 심리적 통제는 아동의 정서조절능력에 대하여 유의하게 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아동의 정서조절능력은 학교 적응에 유의하게 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 아동의 정서조절능력은 어머니의 심리적 통제와 아동의 학교적응과의 관계에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 특히 아동이 지각한 어머니의 심리적 통제와 아동의 학교 적응관계에서 아동의 정서조절능력의 매개적인 역할을 검증하였고 이를 바탕으로 추후 정서조절능력 향상을 위한 개입의 필요성을 시사한다. This study aimed to investigate mediating effects of child’s emotion regulation on relations between perceived mother’s psychological control and child’s school adaptation. A total of 506 students in the fifth and sixth grades attending an elementary school located in Incheon were collected as research targets and the study was analysed through questionnaires about mother s psychological control perceived by a child, child’s emotion regulation and child’s school adaptation. Findings of the research are summarized as follows. First, perceived mother s psychological control has negative influences on child s school adaptation. Second, perceived mother s psychological control has negative influences on child s psychological control. Third, child s psychological control has positive influences on school adaptation. Fourth, child s psychological control plays a meditating role on the relations between mother s psychological control and child s school adaptation. The study is after all considered academically significant in that it has proved mediating effects of child’s emotion regulation on the relations between mother’s psychological control which a child would perceive and child’s school adaptation and implies the necessity of intervention for further emotion regulation ability improvement.
