Planning for the expansion of production capacity is of vital importance in many applications within the private and public sectors. This paper considers a sequencing expansion problem in which capacity can be added only at discrete points in time. Given the demand forecast of each period, capacity and cost of each expansion project, we are to determine the sequence of expansion necessary to provide sufficient capacity to meet the demand in all periods at minimum cost. This problem is formulated as a pure integer programming and solved by branch and bound method using Lagrangian relaxation. At first, simple sequencing expansion problem is presented, and in the latter part, extension to include precedence between projects is suggested.

The purpose of this study is to examine the actual condition of environment conscious logistic system which is essential to make material recycling economic society. Environment conscious logistic management which meant simply recycle is tend to promote material reduction, reuse and recycling. We have made case studies about advanced environment friendly logistic system. To examine Korean companies' environment conscious logistic system, we made survey form which is consist of 82 questionnaires and 154 companies have participated for this. And we have analyzed the survey responses. As a result of this study, we propose the way of constructing environment conscious logistic system in Korea.

Resource Constrained Scheduling(RCS) is a scheduling problem that allocates resources over the scheduling horizon to perform a collection of activities. Sometimes scheduling algorithms are based on too many assumptions and restrictions. Therefore, mathematical formulations are very difficult as the scheduling situations become complex. The purpose of this paper is to propose a general mathematical formulation of resource constrained scheduling.

In this paer, a performance analysis of the Packet Handler System(PHS) is investigated. The purpose of this study is to provide the method of a performance analysis of the Cyclic-server system using Petri-net. The proposed method is utilized as a basis of carrying out the more concrete analysis of PHS's capacity and of developing the relevant software of PHS.

This paper deals with a simulation study for determining the circuits between sites when we construct a telephone network using a computer simulation technique. The major steps of the procedure proposed consist of a determination of circuits by an analytic method, an evaluation of simulation results and a sensitivity analysis. For the simulation, SIMAN simulation language is used. Terminating simulation experiments are conducted for two hours on the basis of real situation.
