We report a case of primary inoculation tuberculosis which ceveloped at the site of an intralesional corticosteroid injection in a 47-year-old male. He had chronic, relapsing nummular dermatitis on his left lower leg 8 years and was treated with intermittent intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide. Two weeks ago he developed a single, well-demarcated, 5.0㎝×3.5㎝ sized, indolent, brownish red pustule at the site of the corticosteroid injection. He had no previous history of tuberculosis of the lung or other internal organs. AFB smear from the lesion revealed many acid fast bacilli, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis was cultivated and identified. A histopathologic examination of the lesion showed diffuse dermal infiltration composed of lympho-histiocytes and many neutrophils with necrosis of dermal collagen fibers and many acid fast bacilli were demonstrated on AFB stain.

Trichophyton verrucosum is a worldwide zoophilic dermatophye. The human infection was first reported in t.he South western part of Korea in 1986 and Fas been increasing in Taegu area. Thirty-one strains of T. verrucosum isolated from the patients in Taegu area were investigated for their mycological features. Gross observation on Sabot rauds dextrose agar, microscopic examination by scotch tape method and slide culture or Sabourauds dextrose agar and potato dextrose agar, and hair perforation test were perforn ed at 37C. The averages of the largest dimensions of the colonies were .9mm at 2 weeks and 59mm at 4 weeks. The morphologic features of the colonies were clasified into three types. Eighteen of 31 strains showed flatwhitish, disc-like colonies with suvmerging hyphae, 11 strains had large radiating follows on the center of the colonies, and 2 strains showed colonies having diffuse fine folds on their surfaces with well-defined borders. On microscopic exaniination, many chlamydospores, antlerlive hyphae, oval and clavate microconidia, and rat tail or string bean shaped macroconidia were observed. It seemed that observation on potato dextrose agar during 10 to 14 days af er inoculation was suitable method for microscopic examination of T. verrucosum. All 31 strains showed positive reaction on hair perforation test. (Kor J Dermatol 1992;30(6):781-788)

Health effects associated with metal working fluid (MWF) exposures include dermatitis, respiratory disease, hypersensitive pneumonitis, and asthma. Frequently, occupational exposures to MWFs are controlled by ventilating an enclosure with an air cleaning unit that includes a fan preceded by various kinds of filtration. There are several kinds of air cleaning units used in machining centers. But the associated troubles troubles have hindered from efficiently using these devices. The main problem is the relatively short period of filter replacement. The reason is that the air cleaning units usually do not have the de-oiling systems, thus leading the earlier clogging of filters and reducing the flow rate of hood. Thus, the first stage of study was conducted to overcome this problem by developing the new oil mist collector equipped with the easy de-oiling system. The principle of de-oiling is that the centrifugal force generated by spinning the drum covered by filter fabric separates oils from the filter fabric. It would be very similar to the spin-dry laundry. By adopting this de-oiling technique, the problems associated with the conventional oil mist collectors could be soled. Several tests/analyses were performed to make the lab-scale oil mist collector. The collection efficiencies and the de-oiling efficiencies of commercially available filter fabrics were tested. Subsequently, the endurance test were conducted by observing SEM photos of filter fabrics and measuring tensile strength/expansion coefficient after spinning the filter drum for 20 minutes at the different rotation speeds. By doing these experiments, the most appropriate filter fabric and rotation speed/duration were selected. Finally, the new oil mist collector was designed. In the near future, this device must be tested in the real machining center.

Accelerated degradation test (ADT) can be a useful tool for assessing the reliability when few or even no failure are expected in an accelerated life test. In this paper, MLCC (Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors), a sort of passive components which have large capacitance(X7R -55℃~125℃) have been tested, and least-square analyses are used to illustrate our approach in which amount of degradation of a DUT following log-normal distribution. We assumed a simple and useful linear model to describe the amount of degradation over time subjected to different voltage levels applied. Tests for linearity of the performance-time relationship, and provide tests for how well the assumptions hold. Also, by using Eyring Model, MLCC's mean life time is assessed. Also, We tested MLCC by Voltage accelerated On-Off test. and analyzed degradation data with log-normal - General log-linear model suggested by Lu and Meeker's Fatigue-Crack-Growth Model.

Measuring the thermophysical properties of solids in laser heating method, the material surface is coated by thin black paint layer(graphite) to minimize the effects of the laser beam reflection. But, the influence of the thin black paint layer on the surface temperature variations have been ignored. In this paper, a numerical analysis is carried out to clarify quantitatively the influence of the thin black paint layer when the material surface is heated locally. In the experiment, the material surface is heated by Ar laser beam and the surface temperature profiles are measured by an infrared thermometer.

In order to understand the influence of the inducer inlet angle on cavitation and suction performance, experiments were carried out for two kinds inducer, which have the same outlet angle distribution, length and number of inducer blades. The results showed that the change of inducer inlet angles influenced not only internal flow conditions but also cavity flow and suction performance. The improvement of suction performance by using inducer were also discussed.
