In analyzing the effect of the central place improvement projects, this study classifies subject residents into two groups of the residents of the project target regions and those of surrounding villages, and conducts verification. As a result of analysis, Variety of cultural programs is the only factor that positively affects the satisfaction level of the residents of the project target region, and it has been analyzed at the significance level of 10% that a one-unit increase in securing rest areas lowers the satisfaction level of the residents of surrounding villages. This shows that the effect of the central place improvement projects currently promoted is at a low level, and there is also a risk of conflict between the residents in the target region and those in surrounding villages. Although there is no statistical significance, analysis shows that a method to provide the residents in surrounding villages with the project-related information and to guarantee their participation in the project enhances the satisfaction level of the residents of surrounding villages. Therefore, institutional improvements reflecting this need to be made.

This study examined the effects of a multimedia courseware on improving learners’ reading fluency and English speaking test scores. It also examined the relationship between reading aloud speed measured by means of the online English reading courseware and the scoring constructs of the speaking test. 49 Korean college students participated in the study for 15 weeks. They were asked to study the reading aloud program to improve their reading fluency and pronunciation. They were also given a pre- and a post-test of English speaking test to measure their speaking score improvement. The constructs were task completion, fluency, accuracy (pronunciation, language use, and grammar), and coherence. Two raters rated the test results. A post survey and interview were conducted to collect their perceptions of the program. The results showed that the paired t-test produced significant mean difference between the holistic and analytic test scores of the pre- and post-test. Mean difference of the participants’ reading fluency was also significantly different. However, there was no high correlation among the reading fluency and scoring constructs of the speaking test. The study’s implication is that the reading aloud program can be an effective tool to improve EFL learners’ spontaneous speaking competence.

농촌융복합산업 경영체의 성장단계별 특징

본 연구의 목적은 농촌융복합산업 경영체의 성장단계별 특징을 규명하는데 있다. 성장단계는 경영체들의 매출액 분포를 10분위로 구분하고, Quantile Regression을 이용하여 경영체 특성변인이 분위별 매출액 결정에 작용하는 형태로 분석하였다. 분석결과 경영체 성격은 영리법인, 단순농산물가공품을 생산하는 1*2차형이 매출액에 가장 효과가 있는 형태로 나타났으며, 성장단계에 따라 경영체특성의 작용이 다름을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과들은 생산뿐 아니라, 가공·판매 기능이 중시되는 방향으로 변화되고 있는 농가 경영체가 성장단계별로 경험할 경영문제 해결에 기여할 수 있으며, 농촌융복합산업 경영체의 건전한 육성을 위한 시사점을 제공하고 있다. This study aims to identify the features of each growth stage of businesses in rural convergence industry. In each stage, this study divided the sales distribution of the business entities into deciles and analyzed it by using Quantile Regression, considering a certain factor of the businesses has influence on each decile. As a result, this research found out that among various types of businesses, for-profit corporations or the primary and secondary businesses producing simply processed agricultural products, have the biggest impact on their sales and that each feature of the businesses plays out differently in each stage. These outcomes not only contribute to addressing the business issues, which are arising in each growth stage of the agricultural businesses as the features, process and sales as well as production are becoming more important in their business, but also carry implications for a sound growth of agricultural convergence businesses.

Exploring the Relationship Between the Self-Directed English Learning Ability and English Speaking Proficiency of Korean College Students

In a Korean context, Self-Directed Learning(SDL) in English language learning is essential, but there is little literature regarding the relationship between SDL and English speaking ability. This study investigated the relationship between Korean college learners` SDL capability and their English speaking proficiency, in particular, the mean difference among the learners` English speaking test scores according to their SDL ability, the effects of gender and study abroad experience on the speaking scores across the SDL levels, and the characteristics of the relationship between the two factors. 90 Korean English language learners 9(ELLs) participated in the study by taking a computerized English speaking test and responding to an SDL survey followed by focal group interviews. The research findings showed that the learners` SDL ability might not be a powerful indicator of their English speaking proficiency; the mean difference of the speaking scores across the SDL groups was significantly different; the effect of study abroad experience was significant across the SDL groups while the gender effect was not. In addition, there was the ELLs` conceptual misunderstanding of the SDL and speaking ability, and their lack of speaking practices. Some suggestions are discussed in terms of improving the ELLs` SDL and English speaking ability.

사회적 인식과의 비교를 통해 본 농업 · 농촌 연구주제의 내용과 평가

본 연구는 변화된 사회적 환경에 대응한 농촌사회분야의 연구주제를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 사회적 환경은 7,824건의 신문기사를 활용하였고, 연구동향은 학술지 농촌사회에 실린 233편의 논문초록을 대상으로 텍스트마이닝으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 농업과 농촌에 대한 사회적 관심은 정부조직의 동향에 초점을 맞추고 있어 사회적 관심이 낮음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 사회적 상황에 맞춘 농촌사회와 관련된 10개의 주제들을 살필 수 있었으며, 농지제도로 인한 농촌사회변화, 시민사회가 참여하는 도농교류와 협력, 안전식품에 대한 주제들에 대한 접근이 시도되거나, 강화되어야 함을 발견할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과들은 사회적 변화와 연구경향을 실증적으로 제시하고 있어, 연구자들의 연구주제 선택에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. This study aims to explore the research subject of rural social field in response to the changed social environment. The social environment was analyzed by using 7,824 newspapers, and the research trend was analyzed by Text Mining on 233 paper abstracts published in the journal of rural society. As a result, social interest in agriculture and rural areas focused on the trends of government organizations, indicating that social interest is low. It also presents 10 subjects related to rural community that is geared to social situations. As this presents the social changes and research trends so far in an empirical manner, this can contribute to researcher’s choice on research subjects.

의사결정나무분석법을 활용한 6차산업 유형별 산업적 기능결합 요인탐색

This study aims to identify the characteristics of businesses influencing the choice of their type in the 6th industry and analyze how they work. This study analyzed data of 752 businesses certified as belonging to the 6th industry in 2015 through the classification and regression tree (CART) algorithm in decision tree analysis. The results of analysis showed that the type of agricultural product processing, region, the type of service, and the production percentage in a province affected a choice of the type. The most important variable that impacted how businesses in the 6th industry chose their type was the type of agricultural product processing, and if a business produced simple agricultural products, it was likely to specialize into 1st*2nd or 1st*3rd. Access to large consumption areas was a critical factor in the growth of 2nd and 3rd industrial functions. These findings would contribute to establishing a model to develop the 6th industry and empirically demonstrate the importance of access to large consumption areas for agricultural businesses and rural tourism.

기억-탐험 방법을 이용한 단일-질의 확률 로드맵 계획 알고리즘

고차원의 구성 공간 상에서 빠르게 동작하는 경로 계획을 위하여, 본 논문에서는 단일-질의 알고리즘의 일종인 새로운 경로 계획 알고리즘을 제안한다. 단일-질의 알고리즘의 동작과 탐험 알고리즘의 유사성에 주목하여 탐험 알고리즘의 하나인 기억-탐험(Remembering Exploration) 방법을 응용하여, 로드맵의 한 노드를 선택하여 그 주위의 자유 공간상에 있는 노드들을 새로 로드맵에 추가하는 방법으로 로드맵을 키워나가는 것이 본 논문이 제안하는 알고리즘이다. 성능 평가를 위하여 2차원 공간상에서의 경로계획 문제와 3차원 공간상의 움직임 계획 문제를 제안하는 알고리즘과 다른 잘 알려진 알고리즘을 이용하여 성능 비교 실험을 하였으며, 경로의 발견 유무와 발견하기까지의 시간 비교를 한 결과 제안하는 알고리즘의 성능 우위를 확인할 수 있었다. In this paper we propose a new singlequery path planning algorithm for working well in high-dimensional configuration space. With the notice of the similarity between single-query algorithms with exploration algorithms, we propose a new path planning algorithm, which applies the Remembering Exploration method, which is one of exploration algorithms, to a path-planning problem by selecting a node from a roadmap, finding out the neighbor nodes from the node, and then inserting the neighbor nodes into the roadmap, recursively. For the performance comparison, we had experiments in 2D and 3D environments and compared the time to find out the path. In the results our algorithm shows the superior performance than other path planning algorithms.
