The Bi₂Te₃ nanotubes could be prepared by a solvothermal reaction using the Te nanowires as template. The first step of synthesis is formation of the Te nanowires. Subsequently, alloying process is progressed to synthesize Bi₂Te₃. The Bi₂Te₃ nanotubes have an average diameter of about 200~300㎚, with a few micrometers of the length. Because morphology of the Te nanowires depends on the reaction temperature, the Bi₂Te₃ nanotubes fabricated finally are affected as well by the temperature conditions. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).

Pd(Ⅱ) ink was synthesized by the hydrolysis of PdCl2 and NH4Cl, followed by treatment with a small amount of oxidant and stabilizing agent. The ink was stored in a refrigerator at 4℃. UV/vis measurements on dilute inks was measured at an interval of a week. TW-PI025 having very similar properties to KAPTON was used as PI film. For Ink jet printing, the surface of the PI film was treated with KOH solution. The best condition for printing was selected through measurements at various concentrations and treatment times. After printing with Pd ink following surface treatment, surface-bond palladium(Ⅱ) was reduced to metallic palladium by being immersed into NaBH₄ solution. The surface of Pd was plated with electroless copper plating solution at room temperature, resulting in appearance of copper lines. The morphology changes of the PI film before and after the surface treatment were investigated by FT-IR ATR and video microscope.

Pd(Ⅱ) catalytic ink was synthesised by the hydrolysis of PdCl₂, followed by treatment with a small amount of stabilizing agent. The Pd(Ⅱ) ink has excellent storage stability and the same low viscosity and surface tension as water. Polyimide film was used as a substrate for inkjet printing of the Pd(Ⅱ) ink, while various characteristic changes of the printing were observed according to the contact angle on the substrate surface. The contact angle was affected by the concentration of KOH solution, and a surface condition suitable for composing Copper circuit was obtained by printing Pd(Ⅱ) catalyst ink and electroless plating when it was treated in 1M KOH solution for 10 minutes. The physical properties of Pd (II) ink were analyzed using a surface tension meter, viscometer, pH meter and UV-visible spectrophotometer, whereas the surface properties of polyimide film were analyzed using a contact angle instrument, FTIR-ATR, video microscope, XPS, FESEM and AFM. The physical properties of Pd (0) particles were analyzed by XPS and AFM, while the characteristics of electroless copper plating were analyzed by video microscope and XPS.

The Subtrochanteric area of the femur is composed mainly of cortical bone and highest in biomechanical stress, subtrochanteric fracture occured usually in the young age by direct trauma. Depending on the amount, speed and direction of energy, various patterns of subtrochanteric fracture occured. But it is difficult to stabilize the fractured fragments which was comminuted and under the muscular antagonistic force. It is important to obtain early ROM and early weight bearing for old aged patient, but difficult to stabilize the subtrochanteric fracture due to senile osteoporosis and characteristics of comminution. And we experienced subtrochanteric fracture of femur which was already ankylosed state and treated by total hip replacement using by long stem and supporting ring.

The tibial fracture was the most common fracture of the long bone fractures, especially there were many controversies in the treatment of open fracture by high energy injury. The aurhors analyzed retrospectively 32 patients of tibial open fracture who underwent unreamed intramedullary nailing at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Lee-Rha general hospital from September 1992 to August 1994 with minimal 1 year follow up. In 32 cases, the average age was 37.5 years old and the most common injury was traffic accident(25 cases, 78%). Twenty seven cases were male(84.4'Po) and 5 cases female(15.59o). There were 17 cases of Type A fracture(53%), 12 cases Type B(37.5%) and 3 cases Type C(19.5%) by A-0 classitication, and l 1 cases were Type [ open fracture(34% ) by Gustilo - Anderson classification, 15 cases, Type 3 (47%) and 6 cases, Type III (19%). The average bone union time was 14.8 weeks except one case of infected non-union. We concluded that unreamed intramedullary nailing is recommended for the compatible treatment metnod of tibial open fractures.
