The Hwaom Temples refers to the 10 temples founded in the 9th century by Uisangdaesa and his disciples. It is divided into two types of temples(Gapsa and Hwaomsa), which were developed based on the Hwaom Idealism, and the temples built in the Unified Silla period(Beomeosa and Haeinsa). Based on the Hwaom Idealism, the location characteristics of the Ten Temples of Hwaom are located at the middle point of the mountain, which is a strategic and military hub, and it is situated in harmony with the natural terrain with the accumulation of high elevations based on the vertical Buddhist doctrine. It is based on the Sasin of Feng Shui. In other words, the central area of the location is the Daewoongjeon area, and it shows the shape of the square: Left is the blue dragon, Right is the white tiger, South is the Red Bird, North is the Black Tortoise. The Ten Temples of Hwaom are Buddhist temples of Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, but they have become the basis of the Hwaom Idealism in the past, and they are now embedded in the faith space and performance life and become the independent Buddhist temples of Korea.
