The random pulse width modulation(RPWM) on the noise and vibration abatement in inverter-fed induction motor drive is presented. This paper describes a RPWM method based on space vector PWM strategy for shaping the switching noise spectrum in such a way it can merge with the natural system noise. To verify the validity of the proposed RPWM scheme, the experiment based on the DSP56F803 microprocessor was executed. Finally, the simulation and experimental results will be given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed RPWM scheme.

In home appliances, electric energy is optimally controlled by using power electronics technology, creating a comfortable environment in terms of energy saving, low sound generation, and reduced time consumption. Usually simplicity and robustness make the three phase induction motor attractive for use in domestic appliance, including washing machines. Two main types of domestic washing machine have evolved. We focus on the front loading machine favored in Europe, which has a horizontal drum axis. The efficiency improvement in home appliances is very important for customers. Induction motor efficiency can be improved by means of loss reduction, which can be realized by motor selection and design, improvement of the waveforms supplied by power inverter, utilizing a suitable control method. So this paper describes the architecture and feature of washing machine fed induction motor drive under minimizing losses vector control.

본 연구에서는 유도전동기 구동 시스템에서 새로운 RPWM 방식을 제안하였다. 유도전동기 구동 시스템에서 발생하는 소음을 줄이기 위하여 공간벡터 RPWM방식에 기반을 둔 RPWM방식을 제안하였다. 제안된 RPWM방식을 드럼 세탁기에 적용하여 세탁기에서 발생하는 소음과 진동을 측정하였으며 그 결과를 비교하였다. 제안된 방식의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션과 실험을 수행하였다. High frequency common mode voltage produced by power inverters are a major cause of conducted EMI, creating motor ground currents, bearing currents and other harmful by products. This paper focuses on a new SVPWM method with random PWM injection to reduce conducted EMI noise. A New PWM technique associated with the common mode voltage can be significantly reducing and contributes to mitigate. The common mode voltage to 50% in comparison with that for conventional SVPWM technique. Validation of the theory and reduction methods are then performed experiment ally based on an induction motor drive.

Much attention has given to EMI effects created by variable speed ac drive system. This paper focuses on the switching technique to mitigate common mode voltage.<br/> Zero switching states of inverter control invoke large common mode voltage. Using inversed carrier wave, zero switching states are removed. In addition, proposed technique is easy to apply to existing 2-level inverter design.<br/> Simulation results show that common mode voltages adapting proposed technique are reduced regarding conventional method.

To clarify the effect of temperature during ripening on grain quality, rice plant which was grown under normal natural conditions untill heading stage was subjected various temperature regimes during grain filling stage. Three varieties, Odaebyeo, Hwaseongbyeo and Dongjinbyeo were used. Grains on primary and secondary-rachis branches were harvested seperately and measured specific gravity, grain size and weight. The optimum daily temperature for grain filling of rice during ripening period was about 22$^{\circ}C$ and grain filling under alternating temperature(26/18$^{\circ}C$, day /night) was better than constant temperature (22 /22$^{\circ}C$) based on 1, 000-grain weight and yield. Grain size based on volume per grain was smallest under the constant temperature of 22 /22$^{\circ}C$. The size of secondary-rachis branches was smaller than primary-rachis branch. The difference in size between primary and secondary-rachis branches was biggest in Hwaseongbyeo, followed by Odaebyeo and Dongjinbyeo. The temperature regimes treated did not influence the grain size difference between branches so much. The 1000-grain weight was lighter under high temperature than low temperature in Odaebyeo, but reversed tendency was observed in Dongjinbyeo of secondary rachis-branches.
