        알기생봉(Trichogramma sp. Nabis101)의 저온 발육 휴지와 단기 저장 기술

        상용화된 Trichogramma sp. Nabis101은 알 기생봉으로 대상 기주 범위가 넓어 해충 방제용으로 농생태계에 방사되고 있다. 더욱이 최근에 미생물농약과 혼용 기술이 개발되어 이들의 적용 확대가 기대되고 있다. 그러나 아직 이 기생봉의 정확한 종 동정이 되어 있지 않다. 또한 비교적 불규칙적 수요에 대응하여 생존력과 기생 능력 차이 없이 기생봉을 저장할 수 있는 기술이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 이 기생봉의 internal transcribed spacer (ITS)의 염기서열을 결정하였다. 이를 토대로 이 기생봉의 종 동정을 실시한 결과 T. brasiliensis와 가장 높은 유사성을 나타냈다. 이 기생봉의 저장은 기생 초기의 기주 알을 $10^{\circ}C$에서 보관하는 기술이 결정되었다. 이 조건에서 기생봉은 5주 동안 생존력, 성비, 수명 및 기생능력의 큰 저하 없이 유지될 수 있었다. A commercial egg parasitoid, Trichogramma sp. Nabis101, was released into agricultural cultivating areas in Korea due to its wide host spectrum against insect pests. Moreover, an application technique has been recently developed to enhance its control efficacy by mixture treatment with a microbial control agent. Despite its expansion of commercial availability, any genetic identification on this commercial strain was not determined. Also, to meet inconsistent demands from consumers, the live parasitoids need to be stored without significant loss of their survival and parasitic activity. This study determined nucleotide sequence of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of the wasp species. The identified ITS sequences indicate that this wasp species is most similar to T brasiliensis. Optimal storage condition of this wasp required young parasitized stage at $10^{\circ}C$. Under these conditions, survival, sex ratio, longevity, and parasitic behavior were not much impaired for 5 weeks.

        불확실성 하의 국방 조달 수의 계약 업체 선정 기준

        This paper theoretically investigates how to select a defense procurement contractor when the government does not fully know productivity of firms. In the model, the government receives partial information about productivity of firms and chooses only one firm based on the information, then makes an incentive contract. As criteria, we consider two means of comparing information: First and Second Order Stochastic Dominance. It is shown that when the information on firm A is First Order Stochastic Dominant over the information on firm B, the government should make a contract with firm A. In contrast, Second Order Stochastic Dominance relation is largely affected by the parametrization of the firm's productivity and it might not guarantee more profit to the government under some circumstances. Nevertheless, by reparametrizing firms’ productivity, Second Order Stochastic Dominance relation guarantees higher profit to the government. This paper offers a construction algorithm for the reparametrization such that Second Order Stochastic Dominance relation is valid as a criterion. 방산조달계약 시 정보의 비대칭성이 존재하여 정부가 방산업체의 생산성을 정확히 알지 못하는 경우가 많다. 이러한 경우 정부는 기업의 생산성에 대한 부분적인 정보를 가지고 계약을 맺을 업체를 선정하고 그 업체와 인센티브 계약을 맺게 된다. 본 연구는 방산조달계약업체를 선정 기준에 대해 이론적으로 분석하였다. 업체 선정 기준으로서 정보를 비교하는 두 가지 방법인 1차와 2차 확률적 우위를 고려한다. 기업 A가 기업 B보다 1차 확률적 우위에 있는 경우 정부는 항상 기업 A를 선호함을 보였다. 한편, 2차 확률적 우위의 경우 이러한 관계가 성립하지 않음을 반례를 통해 보였다. 이는 2차 확률적 우위는 매개화에 영향을 크게 받기 때문이며, 재매개화를 통해 2차 확률적 우위도 선정 기준으로서 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

        Discrimination of different generations of Zeugodacus scutellata using age grading technique and their local genetic variation

        The striped fruit fly, Zeugodacus scutellata, exhibits generation overlap due to its relatively long lifespan. This study clarified the fly generations by age-grading technique and traced migration of local populations using genetic markers. Male adults were monitored using Cue-lure in two different places (Andong and Guri) of mainland Korea during the entire host cultivating period. They showed two occurrence peaks (from late July to early August and from mid-August to mid-October). A developmental model of Z. scutellata using rate summation method predicted four generations during this period. Pterin amounts in fly heads increased with adult age and indicated at least 3 cycles of age variation during the occurrence period with an additional adult generation after the third cycle. The additional peak was supported by field monitoring using protein diet supplemented with terpinyl acetate, which showed an additional occurrence peak during October. These seasonal populations were monitored through their migration by gene flow analysis using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. In each locality, three seasonal populations at July, August, and September were discrete. Although local populations were genetically discrete at July, they were not separate at late seasons except for Jeju populations. These results indicate the usefulness of the head pterin quantification in age-grading of adult populations and suggest that Z. scutellata occurs at least four generations a year. In addition, gene flow analysis using RAPD suggests frequent movements among local populations along with season progression.

        Monitoring the Oriental Fruit Fly (Bactrocera dorsalis), the Melon Fly (B. cucurbitae), and B. tau Fruit Fly Using Wax Formation Lures

        과실파리류는 국내 60종의 검역 해충 가운데 42종을 차지하고 있다. 이들 대부분은 자연계 산물인 methyl eugenol (ME) 또는 raspberry ketone에 특이적으로 유인된다. 이들 유인물질을 파라핀 왁스를 이용하여 제형화하였고, 이를 대만에서 야외 유인 효과를 검증하였다. 이들 왁스제형은 모두 델타트랩에 설치하고 8월 말경에 모니터링 한 결과 ME 왁스 제형은 오리엔탈과실파리(Bactrocera dorsalis)를 매일 60-80 마리 포획하였다. 반면에 Cuelure 왁스제형은 오이과실파리(Bactrocera cucurbitae)와 B. tau를 유인하였다. 이러한 결과는 본 왁스제형이 이들 검역 해충에 대한 국내 모니터링에 응용될 수 있다는 것을 제시하고 있다. Out of 60 quarantine insect pests in Korea, 42 species are classified into tephritid fruit flies. Most of these fruit flies are attracted to two natural products, methyl eugenol (ME) or raspberry ketone. Paraffin wax has been devised to formulate these lures. The formulated lures were applied to field test in Taiwan to attract quarantine fruit flies. Wax-ME formulation was installed in Delta trap and could attract 60-80 males of B. dorsalis per day during late August, while a wax formulation of Cue-lure (a methylated compound of raspberry ketone) attracted both B. cucurbitae and B. tau. These wax formulations can be applied to monitor these three quarantine species in Korea.

        차세대 방사선 검출기 기술 개발

        한국원자력연구소 ARDIS (Advanced Radiation Detection Instrument \& Sensor) Lab에서는 방사선 검출기 제작을 위한 시설 및 장비를 설치하고, 산업, 의료, 방사선 안전 등 다양한 분야에서 쓰일 수 있는 방사선 검출기를 개발하고 있다. 연구 개발이 진행 중이거나 개발된 검출기로는 CdZnTe 상온 반도체 검출기, SiC 원전용 반도체 검출기, GEM 가스 검출기, 이온 챔버 등을 들 수 있다. 현재 X-선 및 감마선 측정을 위하여 널리 쓰이고 있는 NaI (Tl)나 HPGe을 대체할 수 있는 상온 반도체 검출기인 CdZnTe 검출기 제작 공정을 수행하고 에너지 분해능 향상을 위한 시뮬레이션 코드를 개발하였다. GEM (gas electron multiplier)은 CERN에서 개발된 가스형 방사선 검출기 제작 기술과 반도체 공정 기술을 결합한 최신의 가스형 검출기로써 X-선 검출기로 사용하기 위한 최적 동작 조건을 도출하였다. Radiation detectors have been developed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institue (KAERI), and they have applications in several areas, such as industry, nuclear medicine, and radiation safety. A CdZnTe room-temperature radiation detector, a SiC semiconductor detector, a gas electron multiplier (GEM), and an ionization chamber are being extensively developed at present. The fabrication process for the CdZnTe radiation detector, which may be the most promising material for next-generation X-ray and $\gamma$-ray detectors, was studied, and a simulation code was developed for designing the electrode structure of the high-energy-resolution CdZnTe detector. The GEM is a gas detector tha was recently developed at CERN and is a product of gas-detector fabrication technology and semiconductor fabrication technology. In addition, the operating conditions for the GEM as an X-ray detector were optimized.

        Improved Dysphagia After Decannulation of Tracheostomy in Patients With Brain Injuries

        Objective To investigate improved dysphagia after the decannulation of a tracheostomy in patients with brain injuries.Methods The subjects of this study are patients with brain injuries who were admitted to the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in Myongji Hospital and who underwent a decannulation between 2012 and 2014. A video fluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) was performed in order to investigate whether the patients’ dysphagia had improved. We measured the following 5 parameters: laryngeal elevation, pharyngeal transit time, post-swallow pharyngeal remnant, upper esophageal width, and semisolid aspiration. We analyzed the patients’ results from VFSS performed one month before and one month after decannulation. All VFSS images were recorded using a camcorder running at 30 frames per second. An AutoCAD 2D screen was used to measure laryngeal elevation, post-swallow pharyngeal remnant, and upper esophageal width.Results In this study, a number of dysphagia symptoms improved after decannulation. Laryngeal elevation, pharyngeal transit time, and semisolid aspiration showed no statistically significant differences (p>0.05), however after decannulation, the post-swallow pharyngeal remnant (pre 37.41%±24.80%, post 21.02%±11.75%; p<0.001) and upper esophageal width (pre 3.57±1.93 mm, post 4.53±2.05 mm; p<0.001) showed statistically significant differences.Conclusion When decannulation is performed on patients with brain injuries who do not require a ventilator and who are able to independently excrete sputum, improved esophageal dysphagia can be expected.

        Efficacy of a 4-Week Swallowing Rehabilitation Program Combined With Pyriform Sinus Ballooning in Patients With Post-stroke Dysphagia

        Objective To assess the efficacy of a 4-week swallowing rehabilitation program combined with pyriform sinus ballooning in patients with post-stroke dysphagia (PSD). Methods We evaluated a total of 30 patients (n=30) with PSD who were admitted to our medical institution between May of 2014 and October of 2016. These patients were randomly assigned to either the trial group (n=15; a 20-minute conventional rehabilitation followed by a 10-minute pyriform sinus ballooning) or the control group (n=15; a 30-minute conventional rehabilitation). In these patients, the efficacy outcome measures were pharyngeal remnant, the pharyngeal transit time, the Penetration Aspiration Scale (PAS) scores and the Videofluoroscopic Dysphagia Scale (VDS) scores. We compared the differences in efficacy outcome measures at 4 weeks from baseline between the two groups. Results There were significant changes in the pharyngeal remnant, the pharyngeal transit time, the PAS scores and the VDS scores at 4 weeks from baseline between the two groups (p<0.0001, p=0.0001, p<0.0001, and p=0.0048, respectively). There were no treatment-emergent adverse events in our series. Conclusion Our 4-week rehabilitation program combined with pyriform sinus ballooning is an effective and safe modality in patients with PSD. However, further large-scale, long-term, and multi-center studies are needed to corroborate our results.

        Real-time monitoring of oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, populations using a remote sensing pheromone trap in apple orchards

        A fusion of information technology (IT) and sex pheromonemonitoring provides a remote sensing IT-pheromone trap to monitor Oriental fruitmoth, Grapholita molesta, populations in apple orchards. Once amale of G.molesta is attracted to its sex pheromone lure in the trap, an infrared sensor installed at the funnel-shaped orifice generates an electric signal. The signal is processed in a central processor and then transferred to an internet site via a code division multiple access protocol. The signal also contains information about when each male is caught. Daily trapping information from different localities is archived in a website. The accuracy of IT-pheromone traps in detectingmale catches was shown by a high correlation (r=0.956) between the generated IT signals and actual numbers ofmales caught in the trap in apple orchards.Using this IT-pheromone trap, G.molesta in apple orchards wasmonitored for one year. These datawere comparedwithmonitoring data obtained froma conventionalwing type-based sticky trap containing the identical sex pheromone lure. Both showed four characteristic adult peaks from April to September and were significantly correlated (r=0.695). IT-pheromone traps also gave real-time signals ofmale catches in the field. These real-time signals ofmale catches showed a characteristic diel attraction rhythmfrom 4 pmtomidnight. The diel rhythmof the male response to the sex pheromone started earlier in the evening in the spring season compared to mid and late seasons. This study provides a novel sex pheromone trap for G. molesta to monitor its population in field conditions in real-time without visiting or counting. The field monitoring data can be accessed any time through a designated internet website.
