The pressure-time profile of the explosion gases can controlled for the use of cartridge explosive with two techniques known as Decoupling and spacing of the charges. Decoupling consists of a space between the explosive column and wall of the blast hole. Four different decoupling index 1.4, 1.8, 2.34, 3.0 are selected in this field study. The level of ground vibrations with each decoupling index was measured and the empirical particle velocity equation from these data was obtained. The condition of new cracks at blast hole are also examined. As the decoupling index is increased, the level of the blast vibration is decreased. But the cracks in rock masses are efficiently formed to remove the broken rock. The vibration constant associated with test sites is given as K=1564.5(D.I)−1.3233 in terms of D.I.(decoupling index)

Organophosphorus compounds are irreversible inhibitors of cholinesterase enzyme. Exposure causes a progression of toxic signs, including hypersecretion, tremor, convulsion, respiratory distress, epileptiform seizure, brain injuries and death. To protect brain injuries, administration of diazepam as a neuroprotectant is now considered essential for severely exposed nerve agent casualties. However, studies have shown diazepam to provide less than total protection against the neuropathological consequences of nerve agent exposure. In this context, extensive studies have been carried out to find out effective alternative drugs to protect brain from epileptiform seizures induced by organophosphate compounds intoxication. It has been reported that a combination of carbamate and anticholinergic or antiglutamatergic can be a very effective medical countermeasure in dealing with the threat of organophosphorous poisoning. In this study, experimental animals including rats and guinea pigs were implanted with microelectrodes on their brain sculls, and treated with various centrally acting drugs such as physostigmine and procyclidine prior to soman challenge, and then its electroencephalography(ECoG) was monitored to see anticonvulsant effects of the drugs. It was found that seizure activities in ECoG were not always in proportion to clinical signs induced by soman intoxication, and that combinative pretreatment with physostigmine plus procyclidine effectively stopped the seizures induced by organophosphorous poisoning.

Skin irritation potencies of novel combinational transdermal patches, composed of various concentrations of physostigmine and procyclidine for the prophylaxis of organophosphate poisoning, were investigated in rabbits and human volunteers. In rabbits, procyclidine, but not 25% physostigmine, induced skin erythema in concentration- and attachment duration-dependent manners, in which moderate to severe redness was produced by attachment with patches containing 8% 01' higher concentrations of procyclidine over 3 days, although skin lesions including edema was not induced by patches containing procyclidine up to 10%. Interestingly, the erythemata caused by procyclidine were reduced by combination with physostigmine, and further by hydrocortisone, and the reactions were rapidly disappeared following detachment of the patches. The skin reactions induced by combinational patches in men were much similar to those in rabbits, although slight and transient edema, itching and pain were induced by patches containing 10% procyclidine, Whereas, patches containing pmcyclidine up to 6% in combination with physostigmine (15%) in the presence of hydrocortisone induced negligible redness, leading to scores lower than 1.0. Separately, only patches with a high concentration (10%) of procyclidine recrystallized from 3 weeks of storage at 4℃ and 23℃, but not at 37℃, reaching 96% after 25 weeks, although the recrystallization rate was greatly lowered by addition of hydrocortisone, Based on the skin irritation and recrystallization profiles, in addition to previous skin penetration and blood concentration analyses, we selected a combinational patch containing 1.5% physostigmine +6% procyclidine +0.5% hydrocortisone as a transient composition for the follow-up non-clinical toxicity studies.

고에너지 물질의 성능 향상뿐만 아니라 둔감도 향상은 고에너지 물질 연구에 있어 매우 중요한 항목으로, 최근에는 안정성의 문제로 성능보다는 외부의 비의도적 자극에 대한 둔감도 향상에 초점을 맞추어 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 고에너지 물질 결정 내부 결함은 외부 충격에 의한 폭발의 시발점으로 작용하기 때문에 그들의 크기와 수를 감소시키기 위해 결정의 입도를 제어하는 연구가 현재 각광받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 결정화를 이용하여 나노 수준의 고에너지 물질을 제조하였으며, 그들의 둔감도를 평가하였다. 결정 입도 제어에 있어 분사 거리, 용액의 농도, 용액/반용매 온도 등과 같은 변수들의 영향을 확인하였다. An improvement of a performance and an insensitivity of high energetic materials(HEMs) is very important evaluation index in a research of HEMs. Studies on the improvement of the insensitivity against a external unintended stimuli rather than the performance owing to stability have been done for decades. Current researches focus on to control of a size of crystal for reducing the number and the size of the internal defects because the internal defects are worked as the trigger of explosion by the external stimuli. In this work, nano-sized HEMs were producted by drowing-out or milling/crystallization and the improvement of insensitivity of them was confirmed. The effect of a spraying distance, a concentration of solution, a temperature of solution/antisolvent on the size of crystals were investigated.
