        나노펄스 플라즈마를 이용한 탈황 시스템의 H<sub>2</sub>O 및 NH<sub>3</sub>, 펄스 인가전압에 따른 입자변환 분석

        Nano-pulse plasma technology has great potential as the process simplicity, high efficiency and low energy consumption for SO<sub>2</sub> removal. The research on the gas-to-particle conversion is required to achieve higher efficiency of SO<sub>2</sub> gas removal. Thus, we studied the effect of the relative humidity, NH<sub>3</sub> concentration and applied voltage of the nano-pulse plasma system in the gas to particle conversion of SO<sub>2</sub>. The particles from the conversions were increased from 10 to 100 nm in diameter as relative humidity, NH<sub>3</sub> concentration, applied voltage increases. With these results, nano-pulse plasma system can be used to more efficient removal of SO<sub>2</sub> gas by controlling above parameters.

        Lumbar Interbody Fusion and Osteobiologics for Lumbar Fusion

        Lumbar interbody fusion (LIF) is an excellent treatment option for a number of lumbar diseases. LIF can be performed through posterior, transforaminal, anterior, and lateral or oblique approaches. Each technique has its own pearls and pitfalls. Through LIF, segmental stabilization, neural decompression, and deformity correction can be achieved. Minimally invasive surgery has recently gained popularity and each LIF procedure can be performed using minimally invasive techniques to reduce surgery-related complications and improve early postoperative recovery. Despite advances in surgical technology, surgery-related complications after LIF, such as pseudoarthrosis, have not yet been overcome. Although autogenous iliac crest bone graft is the gold standard for spinal fusion, other bone substitutes are available to enhance fusion rate and reduce complications associated with bone harvest. This article reviews the surgical procedures and characteristics of each LIF and the osteobiologics utilized in LIF based on the available evidence.

        헬리컬 핀 구조를 가진 LED 조명용 히트싱크의 열 특성

        본 논문에서는 LED 모듈의 방열성능을 개선하기 위하여 히트싱크의 새로운 핀 구조를 설계하고 열 특성을 분석하였다. 대부분의 히트싱크는 판상형이나 침상형의 핀으로 구성되는 것이 일반적이나, 스프링 모양의 헬리컬 핀 구조를 설계변수와 함께 도입하여 제한된 부피 대비 넓은 표면적을 갖는 히트싱크를 설계하였다. 약 14% 넓어진 표면적을 통해 방열 효율을 개선하였고, 그에 따라 LED 칩의 온도를 약 12% 정도 저감하는 효과를 가져 올 수 있었다. 또한, 기존의 히트싱크 보다 넓은 표면적을 가지는데 비해 형성 부피는 약 15% 감소하게 되어 재료비 절감은 물론 공정상의 이점에 따른 공정 생산비의 절감을 기대할 수 있는 새로운 고성능 LED 조명용 히트싱크를 설계하였다. In this paper, we design a helical fin structure for the heat sink for a high-power LED lighting module, and analyze its thermal properties. By means of the helical fin structure, we can obtain about 14% larger surface area for the limited volume and it can decrease the LED chip temperature by about 12%. Because this helical fin heat sink has 15% less total volume than a conventional one, we can also expect to reduce the production cost due to these structural properties.

        Development and Clinical Evaluation of a Rapid Diagnostic Test for Yellow Fever Non-Structural Protein 1

        A rapid diagnostic test (RDT) kit was developed to detect non-structural protein 1 (NS1) of yellow fever virus (YFV) using monoclonal antibody. NS1 protein was purified from the cultured YFV and used to immunize mice. Monoclo- nal antibody to NS1 was selected and conjugated with colloidal gold to produce the YFV NS1 RDT kit. The YFV RDTs were evaluated for sensitivity and specificity using positive and negative samples of monkeys from Brazil and negative human blood samples from Korea. Among monoclonal antibodies, clones 3A11 and 3B7 proved most sensitive, and used for YFV RDT kit. Diagnostic accuracy of YFV RDT was fairly high; Sensitivity was 0.0% and specificity was 100% against Dengue viruses type 2 and 3, Zika, Chikungunya and Mayaro viruses. This YFV RDT kit could be employed as a test of choice for point-of-care diagnosis and large scale surveys of YFV infection under clinical or field conditions in en- demic areas and on the globe.

        The introduction of lithium salts for the treatment of mood disorder by Code in 1949 was a major therapeutic breakthrough. Yet it is far from the universal therpeutic agent in the treatment of mood disorders. Indeed, some acutely manic patients do not respond adeqately to lithium and some individuals experience breakthrough affective episodes during lithium maintenance. In the last decode, it has become c1ear that a significant number of patients with more highly recurrent disorders may require alternative or enhanced forms of prophylactic treatment. For these reasons, a variety of other drugs hove been employed for the treatment and prophylaxis of mood disorders. Efforts to develop new pharmacologic strategies for mood disorder hove included a diverse array of medications, ranging from potent benzodiazepines to novel neuroleptics and from anticonvulsants to calcium channel blockers. The anticonvulsants appear particularly useful in cases of dysphoric mania and rapid cycling state, subforms of bipolar disorder that respond quite poorly to conventional treatments. Among all of these new pharmacologic strategy, carbamazepine and sodium valproate have received the broadest clinical applications as maintenance therapies. The data documenting the short-term antimanic effectiveness of the calcium channel blocker verapamil and benzodiazepins such as clonazepam and lorazepam appear also promising. A number of other theoretically interesting, as well as clinically relevant therapies, which are not presently employed routinly, hove also been studied, including 2 blocker clonidine, atypical antipsychotic clozapine, cholinomimetics, 5-HT enhancers, thyroid and magnesium preparations. Now prophylaxis in mood disorder remains a considerable therapeutic challenge. Controlled testing of the prophylactic efficacy of compounds such as carbamazepine, valproic acid, and the calcium channel blockers represent important next step in the clinical trials for mood disorder.

        약물상호작용 : 기분안정제와 항불안제

        Pharmacotherapy of bipolar disorder is a rapidly evolving field. Mood stabilizers and anticonvulsants have varying biochemical profiles which may predispose them to different adverse effects and drug-drug interactions. Several of the new anticonvulsants appear less likely to have the problems with drug-drug interaction. To provide more effective combination pharmacotherapies, clinicians should be allowed to anticipate and avoid pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic drug-drug interactions. We reviewed the role of cytochrome P450 isozymes in the metabolism of the drugs and their interactions. The drug-drug interactions of several classes of drugs which used as mood stabilizers and new anticonvulsants, some of which may have psychotropic profiles, are discussed mainly in this article. Finally, potential pharmacokinetic interactions between the benzodiazepines and other coadministered drugs are discussed briefly.

        실험적으로 유발한 가토 VX2 암종의 종양 혈관: 조영 증강 출력 도플러 초음파 및 혈관 조영술 소견과 병리조직학적 소견과의 비교

        목적: 실험적으로 가토의 대퇴부에 유발한 VX2 암종의 종양 혈관상을 조영 증강 출력 도플러초음파 및 디지털 감산 혈관 조영술의 조영 증강 양상으로 평가하고 양자의 소견을 비교하며 조영 증강 양상의 차이를 유발하는 병리 조직학적 근거를 규명하는데 있다. 대상과 방법: 가토의 대퇴부에 이식된 30개의 VX2 암종에 대해 조영 전 출력 도플러 초음파 영상을 얻고 미세기포 초음파 조영제를 정주 하여 조영 증강 출력 도플러 초음파 영상을 얻은 후 디지털 감산 혈관 조영술을 시행하였다. 이후 조직 절편을 얻어 영상 소견과 병리 조직학적 소견을 연관 분석하였다. 조영 전 및 조영 증강 출력 도플러 초음파와 혈관 조영술 영상에서 종양 혈관의 분포 양상을 분석하고 종양내 혈관 밀집도 점수 및 종양의 전체 면적에 대한 혈관 면적의 백분율을 구하였다. 병리조직학적 검사를 통해 괴사정도, 섬유혈관성 간질 및 피막의 발달 정도를 분석한 뒤 이를 영상 소견과 연관시켜 보았다. 결과: VX2 암종의 종양 혈관상은 조영 증강 출력 도플러 초음파검사에서 무혈관성이 9예, 주 변부 분포형이 15예, 미만성 분포형이 6예였다. 혈관 조영술에서는 8예가 무혈관성, 14예가 주변부 혈관 분포, 그리고 나머지 8예는 미만성 혈관 분포를 보였다. 혈관 분포의 양상은 두 검사간에 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 혈관 밀집도 점수와 혈관 면적 백분율은 조영증강 출력 도플러와 혈관 조영술 사이에서 유의한 상관관계를 보였다.병리 조직학적 검사에서 미만성 혈관분포를 보였던 예들은 종양의 경계가 분명하고 피막과 섬유혈관성 간질이 잘 발달되어 있었다. 괴사정도, 피막 및 섬유성 간질의 발달 정도는 출력 도플러 초음파 및 혈관 조영술의 혈관밀집도 점수, 혈관 면적 백분율과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 결론: 가토의 대퇴부에 유발한 VX2 암종은 조영 증강 출력 도플러 초음파와 혈관 조영술에서 무혈관성에서부터 과혈관성에 이르기까지 다양한 종양 혈관상을 보였고 이러한 종양 혈관의 양상은 괴사정도, 섬유성 간질 및 피막의 발달 정도 같은 병리 조직학적 지표들과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. Purpose: To describe findings of enhanced power Doppler sonography and DSA in experimentally induced VX2 carcinomas in rabbit thigh and to correlate the imaging findings with the histopathologic features. Materials and Methods: A total of 30 VX2 carcinomas were implanted in rabbit thigh, and after conventional and enhanced power Doppler sonography and DSA, histopathologic examination was performed. Enhanced power Doppler sonography and DSA, were used to determine the distribution pattern of tumor vascularity; to assess its grade and the percentage of a tumor area occupied by vessels, conventional and enhanced power Doppler sonography, as well as DSA, were used. The grade of necrosis and the development of fibrovascular stroma and capsule were histopathologically determined. The findings of power Doppler sonography were compared with those of DSA and the imaging features were correlated with the histopathologic features. Results: At enhanced power Doppler sonography, the signal was either avascular (n=9), peripheral (n=15) or diffuse (n=6), while at DSA, the corresponding totals were eight, fourteen and eight. There was statistically significant corelation between enhanced power Doppler sonography and DSA, both in their depiction of the distribution of patterns of tumor vascularity and as regards their findings of grade and percentage of vascular area. As determined by both conventional and enhanced power Doppler sonography, and by DSA, grade of necrosis and the development of fibrovascular stroma and a capsule correlated with grade and the percentage of vascular area. Conclusion: Experimentally induced VX2 carcinomas in rabbit thigh demonstrated various patterns of tumor vascularity, and the findings of enhanced power Doppler sonography correlated with those of DSA. Tumor vascularity, as demonstrated by two imaging modalities, correlated closely with grade of necrosis and the development of fibrovascular stroma and a capsule, as revealed by histopathologic examination.
