This paper proposes a new driving scheme for single-phase SRM The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. By use of this scheme, simple power devices based on low switching losses enable to high efficiency SRM drive. Starting, One of the main problem m single-phase SRM is overcame by a new starting algorithm with one hall sensor and a parting magnet. The proposed single phase SRM has a high efficiency and robust drive characteristics compared to that of a universal motor.<br/>

In this paper a computer model of large sized truck was developed to evaluate the handling perfom1ance. The full vehicle model having 309 degree of freedom is designed to permit efficient vehicle dynamics analysis using commercial multibody dynamic program. The model is composed of steering system, suspension system, tire, frame, deck and etc. In suspension system, leaf spring showing nonliner relationship on hysteric characteristic of force and displacement is modeled. Shock absorber using spline function is modeled by non liner relationship of force and velocity. Stabilizer using beam element to consider bending and twisting effect is modeled. To evaluate handling performance, vehicle test is performed in the single lane change and J-turn as periodic and step input. The simulated result compares with the test parameter of common passenger car. The useful vehicle handling characteristic parameters in vehicle suspension design are evaluated and applied on large sized truck.
