This paper is the result of a experimental study about non-linear one to one modal coupling of a flexible circular cantilever beam which was transversely excited with harmonic excitation. It was proved that 2 order jumping in out of plane was caused by jump phenomenon in in-plane of flexible circular cantilever beam, because of non-linear coupling. In addition, cantilever beam showed hardening spring characteristics in in-plane and softening spring characteristics in out-of-plane.

Background and Objectives: A plunging ranula represents a mucus escape reaction occuring because of the disruption of the sublingual salivary gland. It is commonly a condition of young adults, although the reported age range is 6-43 years. There is said to be a slightly female preponderance of about 1.9:1(F:M). Surgical incision has been considered the definite treatment, but sometimes complete excision is very difficult. Non-surgical treatment of these lesions has been attempted, but the results have not been satisfactory. In this study, we present our experiences with picibanil (OK-432) sclerotherapy for a plunging ranula. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 41 patients who have undergone sclerotherapy with picibanil for plunging ranula. Information was collected on age, sex, a number of injection, post-sclerotherapy side effect and outcome of treatment. Results: 17 patients (41.5%) showed a complete response, and 20 patients (48.7%) showed inter-mediate response. No response was seen in 4 patients (9.8%). As a side effect of intracystic OK-432 injection therapy, fever (26.8%) and pain(39.0%) were observed. However, fever and pain disappeared after several days in all cases. Conclusion: The results are showing that OK-432 injection is an effective and safe treatment for plunging ranula.
급성 후두개염 환자의 Scope Classification에 따른 특성 비교

Background and Objectives Scope classification is designed to classify acute epiglottitis according to laryngoscopic findings. There is no report about the utility of classification; the difference between the diagnosis and the prognosis by the Scope classification was not found. The aim of this study was to evaluate the utility of Scope classification in patients with acute epiglottitis. Subject and Method 127 patients who had been admitted to our hospital were diagnosed with acute epiglottitis. The patients were classified by the Scope classification. We compared demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms and signs, laboratory findings, and clinical course among the patient groups and divided the results according to the Scope classification. Results There are no significant differences among the groups in demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms and signs, laboratory findings, and clinical course. Conclusion The Scope classification of acute epiglottitis does not seem to be a method to evaluate the severity of acute epiglottitis. Thus, we need to develop multidisciplinary approaches for acute epiglottitis.

In this paper, seismic qualification analysis for the Plant control Panel is carried out to confirm the structural integrity under the seismic conditions represented by required response spectra(RRS). The finite element method(FEM) is used for the analysis and a mode combination method is adopted to obtain a more reliable spectrum analysis results. In addition, the experimental analysis is performed to compare the reliability of the analytical results. The analysis results shows that the plant control panel system is designed to have the dynamic rigidity with no resonance frequency below 33 Hz. The analytically calculated maximum stress of the plant control panel system is $36\%$ of the field strength of material, thus it can be shown that the system has a stable structure for the seismic load.
양성 경부 낭종에서의 Picibanil(OK-432)을 이용한 경화치료 효과

Background and Objectives: In most cases of benign neck cysts, surgical excision has been considered as treatment of choice. However, sometimes complete excision is very difficult, and recurrences has been occured due to insufficient surgery frequently. In this point of view, non-surgical treatment has been attempted with sclerosing agents such as picibanil(OK-432). In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of picibanil sclerotherapy for benign neck cysts. Materials and methods: We retrospectively reviewed 53 patients(27 males, 26 females) who had undergone sclerotherapy with picibanil for benign neck cysts such as ranula, lymphangioma, thyroglossal duct cyst and branchial cyst. Information was gathered with respected to age, sex, number of injections, side effect and outcome of treatment. All patients were treated with intralesional aspiration of cystic contents and injection of picibanil, and followed on neck ultrasonography or neck CT. Results: 53 patients received sonoguided sclerotherapy using picibanil(OK-432). 31 patients(41.3%) showed total shrinkage, near total shrinkage(more than 90% of volume) in 7 patients(9.3%), marked shrinkage(more than 70%) in 5 patients(6.6%) and partial shrinkage(less than 70%) in 17 patients. 15 patients(20%) reaveled no response and 8 patients showed recurrences with repeated sclerotherapy. The side effects of therapy were observed by symptoms such as fever, localized pain and odynophagia. However, these complications disappeared after several days in all cases. Conclusions: We recognized that picibanil(OK-432) sclerotherapy for benign neck cyst is a safe and effective procedures as a primary treatment before considering surgery.
비중격에 발생한 신경섬유종의 내시경적 비내 수술 치험 1예

Neurofibroma is a neurogenic tumor arising from schwann cells or peripheral tissues of nerve sheaths. Neurofibroma rarely occurs as a solitary lesion but mostly occurs as part of neurofibromatosis and reports of neurofibromas developed in the nasal cavity or paranasal sinus are very rare. We report on a case of neurofibroma of the nasal cavity treated by endoscopic surgery. Preoperative computed tomography(CT), and punch biopsy suggested that the tumor was benign neurogenic tumor cofined to right nasal cavity. The tumor was removed with endoscopic surgery completely, and confirmed as neurofibroma by histological and immunohistochemical examination. We discuss the clinical and pathological characters of neurofibroma arising in the nasal septum.
Dual Energy를 이용한 CT Discography의 평가 방법에 관한 연구

Purpose The purpose of this study is to improve accuracy of diagnosis and treatment for herniation of intervertebral disk through separating vertebral body and contrast media as using dual energy CT. Materials and methods We made phantom that was composited with animal vertebral body and acryl tube with contrast-media to evaluate the degree of separation between contrast-media and vertebral body by the concentration in contrast media and we scanned the body phantom with acryl tube as using dual energy CT. Also we scanned Phantom after injection into the pulposus of the vertebral body phantom to get degree of separation between leakage of contrast-media from the pulposus and vertebral body. After scanning, we got the reliability of the bone-removal parameter for dual energy CT discography and applied the data which obtained parameter by phantom study to patients. Results We got the acceptable images of axial, maximum intensity projection and volume rendering from the phantom study and patient. Conclusion Bone removal and merge technique in dual energy CT discography was useful to the diagnosis of inter vertebral herniation disk indirectly and to supply 3D images to the surgeon for improving treatment of the HⅣD.
