The comparative study of Korean and Chinese shows vigorous progress in the field of linguistics as the exchange of the economy and cultural between Korea and China becomes intimate. Especially, the departmentalizing works are increased and the explanation ability of grammar is improved according to the characteristics of the cognitive meaning in specified individual language. As a part of such research, it takes the first step on the comparative study of Korean and Chinese by means of making lexical fields by restricting the object. The open-close verbs show the meaning opposition as the cognitive semantics of the view. To make the lexical fields, it is primarily to consult open-close verbs through synonym and antonym of the dictionaries for Korean and Chinese, and the lexical correspondence relation between Korean and Chinese such as ``開``, ``閉`` in Chinese and ``yeol-da(열다)``, ``dat-da(닫다)`` in Korean. And the lexical fields are made by through a semantic analysis of dictionaries. Then, the open-close verbs are restricted based on the above lexical fields and the common points and the differences of the open-close verbs in Korean and Chinese corresponding to their meanings. As a result, it shows many differences in the expansion of their meanings whereas the original meanings of the ``yeol-da(열다)`` and ``dat-da(닫다)``. It considers the meaning opposition revealing Open verbs and close verbs as ``Open-close verbs``. In general, the extension of the internal meaning in Chinese open-close verbs is progressed vigorously by comparing with Korean. And the Korean open-close verbs extends its meaning by increasing the number of the external lexical fields. Moreover, we see that both the Korean and Chinese extends the meanings by using the more great store of learning in the lexical fields of the ``yeol-da(열다)`` than that of ``dat-da(닫다)``. The concrete discussion will be done in the next research. In addition, the differences of the cognitive meaning between Korea and China can be explained through the different aspects of the usage in Korean and Chinese open-close verbs. It also remained as the next research topic.
