Many container companies have been developed folding container because of its efficiency. However, due to the nature of these folding containers, folding container is more structurally weak than conventional container. In this regard, it is dangerous that type approval test is conducted by person. And also, conventional test method takes too much time. So we suggest some of automation technology of folding container type approval test.

Many container companies have been developed folding container because of its efficiency. However, due to the nature of these folding containers, folding container needs a lot of energy when it is folded or unfolded. In order to overcome this disadvantage, recently torsion bar type of hinges were considered for folding mechanism. Torsion bar in the hinges stores torsional energy when it is folded by own weight. And container uses this torsional energy when it is unfolded. So in this paper, we study on the best torsional spring stiffness for 20ft containers that commonly used.
