Erythropoietic protoporphyria is an inherited disorer of heme synthesis characterized by deficiency of the mitochondrial enzyme, ferrochelatase. This enzymatic abnormality results in increased free protoporphyrin in erythrocytes and plasma, which in turn produces cutaneous photosensitivity, the primary clinical manifestation of the disorder. In some patients, protoporphyrin accumulation in the liver may be associated with hepatitis, portal fibrosis and cirrhosis and may lead to fatal hepatic failure. Recently we experienced a 28-year old man, who had a history of photosensitivity and abnormal liver function test, complaining upper abdominal pain and weight loss. He showed very high level of free erythrocyte protoporphyrin and red fluorescing erythrocyte on fluorescent microscopy. On histopathologic examination, 1iver biopsy spiciemen exhibits brown pigments in hepatocytes, some ballooning degeneration and necrosis of hepatocytes and periportal fibrosis. 13irefringence (Maltese cross) was also observed on polarization microscopy. So we concluded that abnormal liver function test in this patient was caused by the hepatitis related to erythropoietic protoporphyria.

N/A It is evident that an elevation of urinary albumin excretion rate without clinical proteinuria strongly predicts a later progression of diabetic renal disease. Diabetic patients with normal or elevated resting albumm excretion rate show marked albuminuric response to physical exercise compared with matched non- diabetic controls. Employing treadmill test with exercise protocol of modified Bruce (stage II), we studied three groups: 7 normal controls, 11 type II diabetic patients (Group I) with normal urinary albumin excretion (AER<15 μg/ min) and 4 type 11 diabetics (Group II) with elevated urinary albumin excretion (AERa15 μg/min). The results are as follows: 1) In normal controls urinary albumin excretion rate was not increased after exercise. 2) In Group I patients (AER: 5.5±4.2 μg/min), urinary albumin excretion was increased to 7.8±10.8 μg/min after exercise. 3) In Group II (AER: 40.6±11.4 μg/min), urinary albumin excretion was increased to 92.0±35.8 μg/min after exercise, which was significantly higher than those observed in Group I. 4) Blood pressure and heart rate was not significantly different between normal controls and type II diabetic patients before and during exercise stress test. 5) There was poor correlation between diabetes duration or HgbAlc and maximal change in albumin excretion rate after exercise.

There has been considerable interest over the last twenty years in the subject of the elastic properties of the cord-rubber laminates. This has been due to the rather intensive study of the composites materials characteristics brought about by the increased use of rigid composites in many structural applications.<br/> The object of this study is to obtain the natural frequencies and modes of the simply supported cord-rubber laminate plates prior to the study on the analysis of the dynamic properties of the pneumatic tire.<br/> To obtain these natural frequencies and modes, the 12 degrees of freedom orthotropic rectangular plate finite elements are developed. By using the c1assicallamination theory, the<br/> stress-strain relations are represented.<br/> The governing equation for the finite element is derived by energy method.<br/> To find the natural frequencies and modes, the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors are computed by the well known Jacobi power method.<br/> In order to verify the capability of this present finite element, the results of the specially orthotropic plate and the angle-ply laminate plate are compared with the analytical solution. The analytical and numberical results are in good agreement.<br/> The following problems of the simply supported plate are analyzed by the present finite element.<br/> a) The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the cord-rubber laminate plate for various aspect ratio.<br/> b) The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the orthotropic plate with the rectangular hole in its center.
Auxetic Spoke로 설계된 비공기압 타이어의 접지압

비공기압 타이어(Non-Pneumatic tire)는 공기압 타이어와는 다르게 스포크(Spoke)로 공기압의 역할을 담당하는 새로운 타이어이다. 이 타이어는 공기압 타이어의 펑크에 대한 위험과 공기압 유지가 필요 없는 장접을 가졌으며, 공기가 존재하지 않는 우주에서도 사용이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 음의 각으로 이뤄진 허니컴 구조의 비공기압 타이어용 수직 하중에 따른 접지압을 구하여, 이를 공기압 타이어와 비교하였다. 비공기압 타이어의 하중해석을 위해 ABAQUS를 사용하여 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. A Non_Pneumatic tire (NPT) has spoke to replace air of the pneumatic tires. ANPT appears to have advantages over the conventional pneumatic tire in terms of flat proof and maintenance free. And a NPT can also be used in the space environment since it uses no air for inflation. In this study, the static contact pressure of NPTs with auxetic honeycomb spokes is investigated as a function of vertical loading and is compared with that of a pneumatic tire. The finite element based numerical simulation of the local stress of an airless tire is carried out with ABAQUS for varying vertical force and honeycomb spokes geometries.
접이식 휠 타이어의 회전 시 접지압과 수직강성에 대한 연구

This paper is the study of contact pressure and vertical stiffness change of separable solid tire for folding wheel when rolling straight ahead. Using the finite element analysis, we intensively studied about difference of contact pressure and vertical stiffness which occurred at incision surface and continuous surface. As time passed, vertical displacement and vertical stiffness converge to a constant value. As a result, vertical displacement and vertical stiffness of the continuous surface are not significantly different from dose of incision surface. However, the contact pressure is different between continuous and incision surface.

Rolling contact pressure is an important parameter to evaluate tire performance; rolling resistance, traction, handling, and wear of tread. Especially, Non-pneumatic tire(NPT) is necessary to know the characteristics of the rolling contact pressure. The NPT is modeled as elastic structure with hexagonal honeycomb spokes. Rolling contact pressure of NPT is expected irregular distribution. This paper investigates the rolling contact pressure of a non-pneumatic tire with hexagonal honeycomb spokes. Finite element (FE) based numerical simulation of 3D contact pressure of NPT is carried out using ABAQUS. Using this result, the rolling contact pressure of NPT is compared with that of a conventional pneumatic tire.
