The effect of laminar flow fluctuation on the indium composition of In0.07GaAs quantum wells was investigated in order to obtain a higher output power from infrared lighting-emitting diodes (IR-LEDs) having a 940-nm wavelength. By controlling the injection pressure, we obtained various laminar flow conditions. Through subsequent photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, a noticeable improvement in the optical and the crystalline characteristics of the In0.07GaAs quantum wells was observed at an optimum laminar flow. This result could be attributed to a reduction of non-crystallization in InGaAs quantum wells that had their indium composition improved via the optimized laminar flow. Overall, a significantly improved output power (11.2 mW) was obtained from a 940-nm IR-LED chip fabricated at an optimum laminar flow of 500 sccm, and a remarkable increase of approximately 250% was displayed compared to a conventional chip (3.9 mW) fabricated at a laminar flow of 100 sccm.

The purpose of this study was to suggest a practice of Olympism as one of national movement models suitable for the 21st century and as one of major physical education policies, and to determine some of the right directions for the Olympic movement as a sort of new national campaign. Relevant literature was reviewed to analyze the relationship between national movement and Olympism and between the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and national campaign and to seek ways of putting Olympism into practice as a national movement. The findings of the study were as follows: First, IOC's educational programs for the value of the Olympic Games should be conducted for the sake of P.E. majors, P.E. experts and other people concerned. Second, the function and roles of the Korean Olympic Academy(KOC) should be extended, and an Asian Olympic Academy should be established. Third, the spread of Olympism should be stepped up through golf and taekwondo. Fourth, it's needed to make a careful preparation for the Youth Olympic Games(YOG) that is going to be held in 2010 for the first time, and education about that should be provided. Fifth, Olympism should be taught as part of school education. Sixth, the spread of Olympism should be accelerated across the nation by utilizing the day of physical education. Seventh, the members of the KOA should be reeducated to serve as the evangelists of Olympism. Eighth, international leaders should be nurtured to bolster the Olympic movement. Ninth, P.E.-related organizations should join forces in fulfilling their roles as Olympic culture communities. Tenth, the volunteers for the 1988 Olympic Games and the 2002 World Cup Games should be utilized as activists of Olympism. 이 연구의 목적은 과거의 올림피즘의 전개를 분석하고 현재와 미래의 올바른 新 국민운동으로서 올림피즘의 종합적이고 폭 넓은 방향을 문헌연구방법을 통해 제시하고자 한다. 국민운동의 모델인 새마을운동 소개와 함께 올림픽과 월드컵의 성공은 올림피즘의 실천 경험과 성과를 통해 어렵고 힘든 현실을 극복하기 위한 국민운동으로서 추진하는데 그 역할과 책임이 무엇보다 요구되고 있는 것이 사실이다. 올림피즘의 실천으로 올림픽운동의 실천 방향들을 검토하고 학교체육과 생활체육 그리고 엘리트체육 뿐만 아니라 전국민의 선진화된 국민실천운동으로서 방안을 구체적으로 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 체육전공자 및 전문가와 관계자를 위한 IOC의 올림픽가치교육프로그램을 추진한다. 둘째, 한국올림픽아카데미(KOA)의 기능 및 역할 확대와 아시아올림픽아카데미센타를 설립 운영한다. 셋째, 골프와 태권도를 통한 올림피즘을 확산한다. 넷째, 2010부터 처음 실시되는 청소년올림픽게임(YOG)의 중장기적인 준비와 교육이 필요하다. 다섯째, 학교교육제도권에서의 올림피즘의 전개가 요구된다. 여섯째, 체육의 날을 통한 전국민 올림피즘을 확산 및 보급시킨다. 일곱째, 한국올림픽아카데미 회원들의 재교육을 통한 올림피즘 전도사로서 활용한다. 여덟째, 올림픽운동의 실천을 위한 국제적인 지도자를 배출한다. 아홉째, 체육단체간 협조를 통해 올림픽문화공동체로서 역할과 기능이 필요하다. 열 번째, 88올림픽과 2002월드컵 자원봉사자를 올림피즘 실천자로 활용한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine ways of expediting the Korean-style advancement of school sports teams in a bid to revitalize school physical education to help resolve overall problems with elite sports. After an interview survey was conducted, the following findings were given:First, elite sports shouldn't merely be led by some superb players. Short-term and long-term plans should be prepared to discover and foster students who have great potential as players in various sporting events, and the government should offer more intensive assistance to school sports teams. Second, in order to facilitate the advancement of school sports teams in a manner to suit Korean circumstances, the right awareness of the ideal image of a student player that the government lately tried to build is required. That will contribute to creating a good sport culture, which will, in turn, serve to accelerate the advancement of school sports teams. Good learning environments should be prepared, and the local educational authorities should be empowered to assume the responsibility for the management of student players. Besides, it's needed to strengthen the ties among student players, their parents, school instructors and administrators. Third, two government agencies concerned, which are the Ministry of Education,Science & Technology and the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, should make concerted efforts to revitalize elementary and secondary school physical education and push ahead with a plan of building an advanced operating system of school sports teams. To make it happen, the government agencies should set up a new department responsible for school physical education, and there will be more advanced school sports teams when they join forces in a systematic manner to be appropriate for Korean circumstances.
