The research committee for automobile repairs (RCAR), an international body of insurance research centers, has adopted the typical low speed crash test based on an average damage level in crash accidents to estimate the damageability and repairability (D&R). The characteristics of body acceleration and the probability of injury are investigated based on damaged components, accelerations of body and injured dummy to analyze damageability and the driver’s safety under low speed crash environment. It is found from the experimental results that the probability of head and thorax injuries are very low comparing to the injury criteria of FMVSS No.208 Furthermore, it is suggested that the deployment of airbag may not be necessary at RCAR low speed frontal crash test.<br/>

To evaluate the occupant protection performance of the seat belt restraint system, six frontal barrier crash tests were conducted with identical model of passenger cars according to the test procedures of FMVSS No. 208. The test speeds were 48, 56 and 65km/h. And at each speed, two tests were conducted; one with a restrained seat belt and other with an unrestrained seat belt. Throughout the tests, head, chest and femur injury data for the driver and passenger dummies were collected. Futhermore the deformation and deceleration of the vehicle body were measured. The test data were compared and analysed with respect to seat belt usage and test speeds. The test results indicate that the protection of the restrained dummies 、 "ere better than that of unrestrained dummies at the identical speeds. It was also found that the seat belt was more effective for the chest and femur protection than for head protection. And it was confirmed that the effectiveness of the seat belt was better at low speed of 48 and 56km/h than that at 65km
충돌모의시험시 시험결과와 해석결과에 대한 변수 조절에 관한 연구

충돌모의시험을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션하기 위하여 매개변수 (prameter)<br/> 조절과정(tuning process) 을 통하여 시험결과와 해석결과를 일치시켜 모델링을 완성시키는 절차를 확립하고자 하였다 . 매개변수로는 힘 -변형 합수의 보정계수 (scale factor)와 에어백의 질량호름을 곡선의 보정계수를 택하였다 . 매개변수 조절과정을 통하여 연구를 수행 한 결과 HIC 및 머리의 가속도곡선은 시험결과와 잘 일치하였다 . 가슴의 가속도곡선 및 대퇴부의 상해치 풍도 잘 일치시키기 위해서는 다목적합수에 기초한 최적화과정이 필요할 것으로 생각된다 .<br/>
