A coastal flood area was predicted using the empirical superposition of the typhoon surge level and typhoon wave height along the Busan coastal area. The historical typhoon damages wore reviewed, and the coastal topography was measured using VRS-GPS. A FEMA formula was applied to estimate the coastal. flood area in a typhoon case when the measured and predicted dam of typhoon waves are not available. The results in the area of Haeundae beach and Gwangalli beach were verified using the flood area dam from the case of Typhoon Maemi (2003). If a Hurricane Katrina class typhoon were to pass through the Maemi trajectory, the areathat would be flooded along the Busan coastal. area was predicted and compared with the results of the Maemi case. Because of the lack of ocean environment data such as data for the sea level, waves, bathymetry, wind, pressure, etc., it is hard to improve the prediction accuracy for the coastal flood area in the typhoon case, which could be reflected in the policy to mitigate a typhoon’s impact. This paper discusses the kinds of ocean environment information that is needed to predict a typhoon’s impact with better accuracy.

Two dimensional road design is connoting danger factor because different point between design standard and driver`s reaction. Consequently two dimensional road design is difficult to recognize problem that happen beforehand when before construction. Therefore three dimensional road design that can grasp problem after completion is required. In this study, three dimensional road was designed to evaluate road that is designed. Road designed by Inroad that is road design program. DTM is created using digital map and elevation data. Three dimensional road was de-signed by integrated DTM of road and topography. Road design evaluation was performed in three dimension. Driving simulation and sight distance assessment were carried out to estimate stability of alignment. Shadow simulation was executed on icy road section for bad section of icy road surface. As a result of evaluation, this study could confirm shape of road after completion. And sight distance could be calculated and visually confirmed. Also, icy road sections were extracted through shadow simulation.

Three-dimensional information of submarine topography was acquired by assembling DGPS and Echo Sounder, which is mainly used in the marine survey. However, the features of submarine topography, derived according to mechanical data, were confirmed using human eyes. Because the dredging capacity using a submarine surveying data influences harbor public affairs, analysis and the process method of surveying data is a very special element in construction costs. In this study, information on submarine topography is acquired by assembling DGPS and Echo Sounder. Moreover, the dredging capacity in harbor public affairs has been analyzed by the interpolation method: inverse distance to a power, kriging, minimum curvature, nearest neighbor, and radial basis function. Also, utilization of DGPS and Echo Sounder method in calculation of the dredging capacity have been confirmed by comparing and analyzing the dredging capacity and the actual one,as per each interpolation. According to this comparison result, in the case of applying Radial basis function interpolation and Kriging, 3.94 % and 4.61 % of error rates have been shown, respectively. In the case of the study for application of the proper interpolation,as per characteristics of submarine topography, is preceded in calculation of the dredging capacity relevant to harbor public affairs, it is expected that more speedy and correct calculation for the dredging capacity can be made.
