미생물제 처리에 의한 이탈리안 라이그라스 사일리지의 In vitro 및 In situ 반추위 발효특성에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 국내산 조사료인 IRG 사일리지의 이용성을 증진하기 위해 다양한 미생물제의 첨가 시 IRG 사일리지의 in vitro 반추위 발효특성 및 소화율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였으며, 미생물제의 접종 후 배양시간이 경과함에 따라 IRG 사일리지의 품질 및 in situ 반추위 소화율에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 미생물제로는 LC, BS 및 SC ($2.7{\times}10^7CFU/m{\ell}$)를 사용하였으며, IRG 사일리지에 $0.5{\times}10^4CFU/g$가 되도록 첨가하여 수행하였다. In vitro 실험 결과, 암모니아태 질소 함량은 12시간 배양 시 대조구보다 미생물제 처리구에서 높았고(p<0.05), 총 VFA 농도와 건물 분해율의 경우에도 유의적 차이는 없었지만, 대조구보다 미생물제 처리구에서 증가하였으며, 특히 L. casei에서 높게 나타났다. 미생물제를 접종한 후 5일간 배양한 결과, IRG 사일리지의 pH는 대조구보다 미생물제 처리구에서 낮았으며(p<0.05), 젖산 농도는 배양 1~5일 동안 대조구보다 미생물제 처리구에서 높았으며(p<0.05), 다른 처리구보다 LC-IRGS에서 접종 직후 가장 높았다(p<0.05). In situ 건물 분해율은 대조구보다 모든 처리구에서 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 접종 직후에는 SC-IRGS에서 높았으나 이후 LC-IRGS에서 증가하였다. 본 연구결과를 보면, IRG 사일리지의 이용성을 제고하기 위해 LC, BS 및 SC을 활용한다면 IRG 사일리지의 반추위 내 소화율이 개선될 수 있으며, 특히 IRG 사일리지에 L. casei를 첨가하여 단시간 추가 발효하여 젖소에 급여한다면 IRG 사일리지 내 초산 및 낙산의 감소로 품질 및 소화율 개선에 효과가 있을 것으로 사료된다. The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of microbial culture supplements on ruminal fermentation and fermentative quality of Italian ryegrass silage (IRGS) both in vitro and in situ. Three species of microbes (Lactobacillus casei (LC), Bacillus subtilis (BS), and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (SC)) were used in this study. They were applied to IRGS at 30 days after silage manufacture. Various items were measured using in vitro and in situ incubation technique after each microbial supplement was inoculated into IRGS at $0.5{\times}10^4CFU/g$. In the first experiment, in vitro ruminal fermentation characteristics of IRGS were evaluated at 0, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours after microbes were inoculated into IRGS. In the second experiment, in situ fermentation characteristics were investigated at 0, 1, 3, and 5 days after the inoculation of each microbial supplement. In vitro ruminal $NH_3-N$ content was significantly (p<0.05) increased in LC-, BS-, and SC-IRGS at 12 hrs post incubation compared to that in control IRGS. In vitro ruminal total VFA concentration and dry matter digestibility (DMD) of IRGS were not significantly difference among LC-, BS-, and SC-IRGS, although they were numerically increased in LC-IRGS than those of the other IRGS. In addition, this study evaluated the fermentation characteristics and in situ DMD of IRGS with the lapse of incubation time up to 5 days. Throughout the incubation times from 1 day to 5 days, the pH value was significantly (p<0.05) lower in BS-, LC-, and SC-IRGS than that in control IRGS. Lactate was significantly (p<0.05) higher, and significantly (p<0.05) butyrate was lower in LC-IRGS than that in other treatments at 0 day. It was higher (p<0.05) in control IRGS than that of BS-, LC-, and SC-IRGS at 1-5 days. In situ DMD tended to increase in BS-, LC-, and SC-IRGS compared to that in control IRGS. Especially, DMD was higher in SC-IRGS than that in other treatments at 0 day. It tended to be higher in LC-IRGS at all incubation time. Taken together, these results suggest that it might be useful to select a microorganism by considering the feeding time of IRGS to ruminants because organic acids and DMD of IRGS were affected by the incubation time of each microorganism with IRG silage, especially for L. casei decreased the content of acetate and butyrate in IRGS.

The present survey was conducted to investigate effects of weaning age on market weights of steers and calf mortality in Hanwoo. Eight hundred and sixty-two Hanwoo cow-calf operations from all nine provinces were surveyed via personal interviews. The number of farms categorized by herd (heifer plus cow) size were 188, 364, 227 and 83 for <20 heads, 20~49 heads, 50~99 heads and >100 heads, respectively. Approximate 40% of farms surveyed weaned calves at three months of age. The percentages of farms weaning calves over three months of age were 53.5%, 37.5%, 43.7% and 39.0% for <20 heads, 20~49 heads, 50~99 heads and >100 heads, respectively. The herd size did not affect market weights of Hanwoo steers. However weaning age was negatively correlated to carcass weight of Hanwoo steers, showing that as weaning age decreased, carcass weights of Hanwoo steers increased. The average calf mortality was 5.6% and the herd size did not affect calf mortality. But weaning age was shown to be positively correlated to calf mortality and the rate of diarrhea that caused calf death, suggesting that as weaning age decreased, calf mortality and the rate of diarrhea decreased. Overall, the results of present study suggest that a decrease of calf weaning age in Hanwoo can increase the profit of Hanwoo cow-calf operations by increasing carcass weight of Hanwoo steers and by decreasing calf mortality.

이 시험은 현재 우리나라 환경문제 중 하나로서 큰 오염원으로 인식되고 있는 남은 음식물의 재활용과 사료로서의 이용성을 높이기 위한 보존재로서 MHA의 적정 사용량을 알아내기 위하여 실시하였다. 소규모 식당에서 발생하는 남은 음식물을 수집하여 methionine 수산화물(MHA)을 처리하여 $40^{\circ}C$ 인큐베이터안에서 40일동안 변화를 관찰하였다. MHA를 원물중량의 1%, 3%, 5% 첨가구를 두고 대조구와 비교하였다. 염도는 MHA 첨가량이 많아질수록 증가하는 경향이 있었으며(p<0.05) pH는 MHA의 첨가량이 많아질수록 낮아지는 경향을 보였다(p<0.05). 휘발성지방산함량에 있어서는 대조구는 30일 이후에 증가하는 경향을 보였고 MHA처리구는 1, 3, 5% 첨가구 모두 15일차까지 감소하고 이후 일정한 함량을 나타내었다. 암모니아태 질소함량은 MHA의 첨가수준이 높을수록 떨어지는 경향을 보였다(p<0.05). 시료의 외관상 변화는는 대조구에서 표면 곰팡이 발생과 연화정도가 심하게 나타내었으며, MHA 첨가구에서는 1%구에서는 표면의 얇은 곰팡이는 나타내었으나 내부는 변화를 보이지 않아 남은음식물의 고온상태에서의 변패 변질 방지를 위해 MHA를 1% 이상 첨가하면 효과가 있는 것으로 나타내었다. This study was carried out to improve the utilization of food wastes known as major source of environmental pollution and to determine proper additional levels of methionine hydroxy analogue(MHA) on food wastes. 1%, 3% and 5% of MHA were added to 3 groups of food wastes gathered from small cafeteria. Each group has 3 reiteration. NaCl contents were tended to get higher as addition levels increased(p<0.05). And pH values were tended to get lower as additional levels increased(p<0.05). $NH_3-N$ contents were significantly decreased as additional levels increased(p<0.05). Total VFA(Volatile Fatty Acid) content was increased after 30 days of storage on control. On MHA treatments(1, 3, 5%), total VFA contents were decreased until 15 days of storage, and kept low values until the end of experiment. In terms of superficial change, mildew covered all over control, and covered by thin mildew on the surface of 1% MHA treatment. No superficial change found on 3% and 5% MHA treatments. In conclusion, over 1% addition of MHA was effective to prevent the decay and degeneration of food wastes.

본 연구는 젖소에 있어서 세족기 및 신개발 세족액의 적용효과를 구명하기 위하여 2004년 축산연구소 및 전문경영체농장 2개소에서 사육중인 홀스타인 착유우를 대상으로 신개박 세족기 및 세족액을 적용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 유산동의 MIC와 MBC는 E. coli 및 Bacillus에 대해서 공히 0.31%로 나타났다. 신개발 세족액의 경우 E. coli에 대해서는 MBC가 5%로 나타났고 Bacillus에 대해서는 2.50%로 나타났다. 2. E. coli의 경우 5% 및 16% 농도에서 각각 95.69% 및 95.87%의 감소율을 나타내었고 Bacillus의 경우 5% 및 16% 농도에서 각각 99.5% 및 99.89%의 감소율을 나타내었다. 3. 30일동안 사용하였을 때 보행자세지수(locomotion score ; LS) 2, LS3, LS4 및 LS5의 경우 100%, 43.8%, 14.3% 및 0%의 정상회복율을 나타내었고 누적하여 60일동안 사용하였을 때 LS2, LS3, LS4 및 LS5의 경우 100%, 81.3%, 71.4% 및 50.0%의 정상회복율을 나타내었다. 4. 신개발 세족액을 사용하기 전과 후의 발굽장애 발생율에 있어서 사용 전에는 18.8%의 발생율을 보였으나 사용 후에는 1.5%의 발생율을 나타내었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of new foot-bath facility and detergent solution (sodium molylbdenate, citrate, potassium nitrate, tataric acid, sodium hypo-cholorite, and zinc sulfate) on claw health in lactating dairy cows. Minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of copper sulphate were 0.31% for E. coli and Bacillus isolated from cows claw. The MIC and MBC of new detergent for E. coli were 1.25% and 5%, respectively, however their respectively values for Bacillus were noticed 0.63% and 2.5%. Both 5E. coli and Bacillus populations in petri-dishes were significantly reduced (more than 95%) with the application of new detergent solution (5% or 16%). Locomotion score (LS 1-5; very good to severely bad) of lactating cows were significantly improved with in 30 days with the use of new detergent solution in foot bath. The LS2 (n=16), LS3 (n=16), and LS4 (n=7) were shown 100%, 43.8%, and 14.3% recovery rate within 30 days with the use of new detergent solution. However, LS5 (n=2) were not recovered to normal claw health and locomotion score within 30 days of new detergent application. Usage of new detergent solution for 60 days in a foot bath have shown 81.3%, 71.4% and 50.0% recovery rate in cows with LS3, LS4 and LS5, respectively. Abnormal claw incidence was reduced from 18.8% to 1.5% in overall herd (n=80) with the use of new detergent solution (16%) in a foot bath for 90 days. In conclusion, usage of 16% of our detergent solution for 60 days in a foot bath can significantly improve the cow claw health and thus mitigate the negative effects of abnormal claw on productivity of cows and dairy farm income.
여러 가지 첨가제가 맥주빅과 베지밀박의 부패방지에 미치는 영향

고수분유기성 물질인 맥주박 베지밀박 등의 농산가공부산물들은상온에서 변패성이 강하여 가축의 사료로 이용하기위해서는 보관성증진을 위한 첨가제의 처리가 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 맥주박과 베지밀박을 소금,유기산,발효미생물 및 메치오닌수산화물(MHA)을 처리하여 고옹다습한 7 월중순경에 상온에서 20 일간 방치한 후 보관일수에 따른 시료의 표면연화현상과 곰팡이 발생양상,시료내부 pH, 암모니아태 질소 함량변화를 조사하여 각첨가제의 시료에 대한 변패방지효과를 비교한 결과 MHA 5%이상 처리구에서 특별한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타내었다. This experiment was carried our to evaluate supplemental effects of various prervatlves to preserve the Brewers grain and Soymilk from decay and degenerarion. The NaCl, organic acid(Ca-propionate), microbial fermenter(H/MF inoculant), and methionine hydroxy analogue(MHA) were used as additives in order to ∞mpare preservability of brewers grain and soymilk by-product during 20 days at July to August. Most treatments were appeared rapid decay and degeneration as soften and covered with molds on surface from the early days of experiment. However, MHA treatments showed any change until 20 days of storage. In terms of pH and NH3-N contents, only MHA treatment showed a stable and low value. The other treatments including Control showed high values as time flowed or unstable states. In conclusion, when high moisture agricultural by-product was treated by over 5% of MHA, there was no significant physicochemical changes in long term preseπation over 20 days at summer season

This study was carried out to survey operation system of self-making TMR and particle size of self-making and commercial TMR, then to compare TMR particle size recommended by Penn State particle Size Separator. Daily mixing time in self-making TMR averaged 48.6±28.0min, 2 angar type of mixer was most by 55.5% and daily 2 times of mixing in summer and other season was 44.4 and 22.2%, respectively. Percentage of residual feed in upper sieve(19㎜ diameter), middle sieve(8 ti 18㎜ diameter) and lower pen was 21.5~25.6%, 16.0~25.8%, 52.8~61.4%, respectively, at self-making TMR mixer. Percentage of particle sizes of more than 19㎜ in self-making and commercial TMR was 24.9±1.4 and 26.2±1.7%, that of 8-10㎜ 22.8±1.0 and 12.8±1.2 and that of less than 8㎜ 52.3±1.7 and 61.0±1.5, respectively, which in particle length of 8~13㎜ in self-making and commercial TMR was lower by 82.6 and 100% compared to that recommended by Penn State particle separator, respectively. Especially there was not particle length of more than 19㎜ in commercial TMR at all. It is necessary to check the number of cows ruminating in a farm in order to estimate the particle size of TMR; it is recommended to change the TMR mixing time or the TMR formulae if the proportion of ruminating cows in a farm is less than 40%.
