The goal of this paper is to improve the turning performance of a 10-inch wheel packaging design with a multi-link suspension to compensate for existing vehicle issues. For this purpose, the wheel alignment elements, which vary according to the kinematic characteristics of the suspension, were efficiently optimized using Catia DMU Kinematics. Toe, camber, and longitudinal wheel center displacement were optimized for up-and-down movement, and steering moment arm distance, caster, and ackerman percentage were optimized for steering to improve the problems of the existing vehicle. Then, with the benefit of a virtual kingpin axis, we were able to free up wheel packaging space to maintain clearance between each component as the vehicle drives. Finally, Adams car was used to simulate the vehicles turning behavior. The yaw rate and lateral acceleration, which are the main components of the vehicles turning characteristics, were compared to the previous years vehicle.
