취업준비생의 취업스트레스와 절망감의 관계에서 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족의 조절효과

본 연구에서는 취업준비생의 취업스트레스가 절망감에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 취업스트레스와 절망감의 관계에서 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 아울러 이 변수들 간 관계에서 성별에 따른 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 취업을 준비 중인 전국의 대학교 4학년생 및 졸업생 246명을 대상으로 취업스트레스, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족 및 절망감을 설문조사하였다. 조사 자료를 바탕으로 해당 변인들의 관련성을 살펴보고, 조절효과를 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 쥐업준비생 남녀 모두 취업스트레스와 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족은 절망감과 정적 상관을 보였다. 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 절망감 간의 관계는 여성이 남성보다 더 강한 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 취업스트레스와 절망감 간의 관계에서 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족의 조절효과가 남성에서는 유의하였으나, 여성에서는 유의하지 않아 성별 간 차이가 나타났다. 이는 불확실성에 대한 인내력이 부족한 남성 취업준비생들에서 취업스트레스가 절망감으로 이어지기 더 쉽다는 것을 시사한다. 더불어 본 연구에서 나타난 성차는 취업준비생들의 절망감의 심리적 기전이 성별에 따라 다를 가능성을 제기한다. This study aims to investigate the effect of job-seeking stress on hopelessness and to evaluate the moderating effect of intolerance of uncertainty between job-seeking stress and hopelessness. We also examined gender differences in these effects. Via online and offline surveys, the Job-seeking stress questionnaire, Korean-Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale-14 (K-IUS-14), and Korea-Beck Hopelessness Scale (K-BHS) were administered to 246 undergraduates or graduates who were preparing to get a job. Based on these data, the effect of job-seeking stress on hopelessness and the moderating effect of intolerance of uncertainty were analyzed. The results were as follows. First, job-seeking stress and intolerance of uncertainty had a significant positive association with hopelessness in both male and female job seekers. Furthermore, the effect of intolerance of uncertainty on hopelessness was stronger in females than in males. Second, the moderating effect of intolerance of uncertainty between job-seeking stress and hopelessness was significant only in males, while it was not in female job seekers. These results suggest that job-seeking stress is more likely to lead to hopelessness in male job seekers with a higher intolerance of uncertainty. In addition, the gender difference in this study indicates that the psychological mechanisms of hopelessness among job seekers vary by gender.
