Flexible Table Form is being used more frequently at the level of formwork in construction site. However, one of the most common structural frameworks, the RC column-beam structure, is having problems in these factors. To improve this problems, this study developed support devices and proposed installation specifications to enable application of the one-way void slab method to flexible table form. It is expected that the effects of reducing the self-weight of the slab in the floor slab construction using flexible table form.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, the construction industry, which has more contact between workers than other industries, needs to improve its environment through the technology development for automation of construction projects. This study conducted 5-point scale surveys of 39 candidate technologies on 54 workers in construction- related industries to derive priorities for technology development to improve the construction environment. The result of this survey shows the top 10 candidate technology priorities, and this analysis can be used as basic data for setting the direction for future construction development.

The construction industry’s lack of experience and expertise makes it difficult for projects to realize the full benefits of implementing modular construction. Such project performance-hindering elements are often labeled as modular challenges. The added requirement for the transportation of the finished volumetric module is one aspect of the ‘module transportation logistics,’ the under-researched modular challenge that can prevent projects from incurring maximum cost and productivity benefits. The typical module transportation phases include lifting, transporting, and offloading. From conducting a literature review, this paper aims to investigate the equipment commonly adopted to lift and offload the module and validate its economic efficiency by comparing it with the alternative lifting/offloading equipment used in the two case projects. The results showed that hydraulic jacks are an economic alternative to the crane for lifting/offloading the module. The increase in single-module projects with smaller budgets made crane usage economically undesirable, and this study suggested a viable option for a more economical alternative.

Off-Site Construction is being widely adopted as an alternative to solve endemic problems in construction industry such as low productivity and efficiency. However, it is strongly recommended to examine the transportation process to be optimized because it determines the size of a modular and influences the cost of the construction. Therefore, in this study simulation model for optimization of modular construction transportation plan was developed using AnyLogic. As a result of the study, the influence of trailer transport capacity and transport time increases as the number of modular which should be transported from factory to site increases.

The occurrence of defect, one of the major risk elements, gives rise to construction delays and additional costs. Although construction companies generally prefer to use a method of identifying and classifying the causes of defects, a system for predicting the rise of defects becomes important matter to reduce this harmful issue. However, the currently used methods are kinds of reactive systems that are focused on the defects which occurred already, and there are few studies on the occurrence of defects with prediction systems. This paper is about preliminary study on the development of judgemental algorithm that informs us whether additional works related to defect issue are needed or not. Among machine learning techniques, deep neural network was utilized as prediction model which is a major component of algorithm. It is the most suitable model to be applied to the algorithm when there are 8 hidden layers and the average number of nodes in each hidden layer is 70. Ultimately, the algorithm can identify and defects that may arise in later and contribute to minimize defect frequency.

OSC(Off-Site Construction) is regarded as a faster and more economical method in the construction industry, and the attention towards the OSC is growing. In the modular construction process, which is one type of OSC, accurate identification of a module is essential. Because the installation position and the MEP(Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) composition are distinct between modules, a defect in the finishing or junction area is likely to happen during the construction process. This study suggested the modular construction process by applying a beacon receiver using BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) technology on each module. Construction quality management would be improved using the location and assembly data, particularly for a different module in modular construction.

Currently, the most used forms, such as euro form and aluminum form, has many problems. There are issues with noise of construction site because of existing forms’ material and issues with safety because of heavy weight. To solve these problems, there are many researches on using plastic and composite materials on the formwork. However, plastic has lower tensile strength than the steel and aluminum and composite materials are expensive. Therefore, constructors are avoid to use the forms with new materials. The purpose of this study is to develop light-weight plastic form to solve these existing problems by using ABS with optimized design. To verify, the study measured the amount of deflection from developed form through a load test. The test result showed a deflection of 1.15mm when 1.4ton was loaded in the middle of form. The result of the study verified that the usage of ABS and optimized design effectively reduced the weight and noise. Also, it’s performance was verified through the load test.
노후 학교건물의 개축 타당성 평가를 위한 경제성 분석 모델 개발

Although there are many old school buildings that is more than 40 years in Korea, it is difficult to rebuild all of them due to limitations in budget management. Therefore, objective feasibility evaluation criteria are necessary to determine which school buildings should be rebuilt preferentially among the numerous old school buildings. One of the rebuilding feasibility evaluation items, economic evaluation generally requires documents such as construction statements and facility drawings. However, because most buildings older than 40 years do not have these documents, an economic analysis model that requires only basic building information should be developed. In this study, the economic analysis model that can be used for evaluating the rebuilding feasibility only with the number of years, total floor area, and structural information of school buildings was established. This model can contribute to the objective feasibility evaluation of old school buildings because it can evaluate numerous buildings on the same criteria based on basic building information.
